E3 2013 Impression: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of June 2013 - 11:35 PM ]
With the fall of the mighty THQ and the purchasing of South Park: The Stick Of Truth by Ubisoft, all of us have been questioning what may or may not change in the final product. Especially since Ubisoft has it's hearts with the French and the Canadians and the minds behind South Park love to tear them apart. With questions like that and a huge interest in the game, I took a seat and watched what Obsidian had to show us at E3 after the great publisher swap. Granted, some of these might not be additions or substitutions due to the swap, but it was all shown during the demo I was graced with. Read More...

South Park: The Stick Of Truth Is Still Blasting Ass With The Best Of Them
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of June 2013 - 03:24 PM ]
I am so glad to see that South Park: The Stick Of Truth is still moving forward and striving given the loss of the original publisher and completely missing the launch date. While Ubisoft did purchase the game during the great THQ fire sale, I was a bit worried that this was going to fall into development Tartarus or be so altered it wouldn't be what we were led to expect. From the looks of the below screen shots and the bit of new information we have here it sounds like it is going to be just what fans of the show should expect. What is it that I say we should expect? Batman: Arkham Origins Gets A New Trailer And Reveals
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of May 2013 - 09:14 PM ]
Last week we got a pretty lackluster "teaser" for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins title still in the works at Warner Bros. Games Montreal. Granted it came along with a short time span before we were supposed to get a full trailer for the game. The wait is now over and the trailer has been released in its full five minute version. Unfortunately, it doesn't do much in the way of showing the actual game nor does it do much more than show a beautifully fully rendered fight scene. Don't get me wrong, I think the below "trailer" looks pretty cool but it is like saying the next WoW expansion is a trailer for the game. Read More...

More Screen Shots For Batman: Arkham Origins To Show The World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of May 2013 - 11:01 PM ]
Who wants a butt load of new screen shots for Batman: Arkham Origins? You do of course. This should be something to help tide us over until we get some actual in-game footage or at least an awesome CGI trailer. Hopefully that won't be too far off. I'm thinking at least a month, if not sooner. We'll have to see. Maybe they are still trying to work out the Voice Actors still. Anyway, the following images do show off some cool action shots as well as a few villains. Read More...

Batman: Arkham Origins Announced… Yet Another Prequel Title
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of April 2013 - 11:45 PM ]
With the success of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, most of us figured there was going to be a new Batman game coming. Lo and behold, just announced by Warner Bros., we have Batman: Arkham Origins to look forward to this coming October. Not only that, but there is also a handheld side kick that has just been announced for the Vita and 3DS; Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. Unlike the previous two titles, Arkham Origins will not be developed by Rocksteady but in house at Warner Bros. Games' Montreal studio. Read More...

Our Favorite Boss Fights Ever - Part 1
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 19th of February 2013 - 08:10 PM ]
This is a collective list from the staff and readers on who, or what, their favorite boss battle in a video game is and why. It doesn't matter what genre or what boss, all that matters is if it's your favorite or not. It can be the boss that made you want to break your controller but you found yourself screaming "hallelujah" when you beat them. The boss that made your jaw drop when they hit "Phase II" or transformed into their true form. Hell, it can be the boss that just holds a special place in your heart. Read More...

The DLC For This Article Will Be Released Soon.
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 22nd of January 2013 - 07:07 PM ]
I love it when I turn on a game I've already played and beaten and find that there is brand new stuff to do thanks to new content being added. But, in a world dominated by the internet is it really such a good thing now? I feel that games now-a-days are sometimes left incomplete in order to reach deadlines, and the finishing touches are just brought out at a later date in the form of patches or add-ons. In the past; unless you were on a PC; an incomplete game was rare on consoles before they could access the internet. And unless the game was incredibly good, people wouldn't go out to buy the next installments. Read More...

Review: Call Of Duty: Black Ops II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 26th of November 2012 - 05:20 PM ]
It's that time of year again. Time for the annual installment of the Call of Duty franchise. Time for the follow up to Black Op appropriately given the sequel moniker of 2. With all of that, let's see how it held up compared to all the others of the past. At least as it goes in the Campaign Mode. Story It's a foreseeable future and there is a "cyber" terrorist gearing up to bring the major super powers to their knees over something that happened in the past. The past being the mid 80's just for reference. It is up to a Special Forces team to figure out what is going, stop it from happening, and capture the mastermind behind everything. Read More...

Why So Serious?
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 23rd of October 2012 - 10:27 PM ]
I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. While I'm not saying these "serious" games are bad, I am saying that a break from them would be much appreciated. Video games are not all about world wars, political sabotaging, or saving the world from a cliché ultimate evil. We came from a very humble beginning, a beginning of stomping on weird brown monsters, using rainbows to squash bugs, and controlling fat pink things that suck up anything in their path. Read More...

Story Time For Dishonored!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of October 2012 - 10:58 PM ]
Maybe you've been paying attention to Dishonored this and maybe you haven't been. Either way I am here to bring you a couple of new videos for the game that showcase a little of what could be seen as the back story for the game. From what it looks like it could all be related to how Corvo gets all his bad ass powers and the mask. Not to mention what kind of led to the world being in the state that it is in. They look to be more or less fun videos to give a bit of the background than actual details, so don't expect them to be spoilerific at all. Read More...

Here Is What Was Promised For Black Ops II Zombies Last Week
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 07:07 PM ]
So last week we were teased with a world premiere for the Zombies mode for Call Of Duty: Black Ops II. Teased and left waiting. Well the wait is now over. Below we have the "World Premiere" of Zombies mode for Black Ops II and, well, we are still left wondering what is going on with it. The two minute video below shows off some fun game play and cinematics for the mode, but now real details though. Outside of what looks like a campaign style progression map leading to new maps to kill the undead. If you want to call it that. Read More...

How To Become The Ideal Assassin In Dishonored
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of September 2012 - 04:27 PM ]
Dishonored is a game all about a supernatural assassin. So it would make sense that there is a whole slew of ways to go through the game all sneaky. Wouldn't you know it, Arkane Studios and Bethesda have given us a look at a few of the ways to do all that. At least I am hoping that this is only a few in comparison to all the other options. Just as would be assumed sight and sound will be key factors in moving about for the quiet kill. So no real big news there. Read More...

Review: Darksiders II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of August 2012 - 05:02 PM ]
It has finally come. A game that I and others here have been waiting for since we finished Darksiders and were left with a bit of a cliff hanging ending. Darksiders II is here and featuring a new horseman of the apocalypse as well as, from what has been said, a whole load of game features that were left on the cutting room floor in the first title. I got a chance to play it, so let me break it down so you can get a feel before you buy. The Story The story picks up obviously after the end of Darksiders. Read More...

The Many Faces Of Death In Dishonored
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of August 2012 - 06:16 PM ]
Dishonored has always been shown to give the players as many options to play the game since it was first shown. There has never been any doubt that it can be a unique game play each time you take a run at a level. But I know personally I've wondered about how crazy you can get when you want to go in guns-a-blazing. Not to mention how in depth one can get by linking together powers and gear. We guess no more now, somewhat. Read More...

You Better Beat Darksiders Before Darksiders II Launches
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of August 2012 - 09:13 PM ]
So the good news just keeps rolling in for Darksiders II. This time it revolves around those who have been fans since the first game. That is if you've played the first game then you will have access to two items from about the beginning of the new game. So that should be pretty much everyone who is picking up Darksiders II. I mean why would you play the sequel without playing the original? Anyways, these items are linked to your Achievements or Trophies for Darksiders so don't worry if you don't have that save file still either. Read More...
