12 Is The New Number Of The Beast
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 28th of May 2009 - 09:18 PM ]
12 More Iron Maiden Songs for Rock Band Just announced via their online 'zine, Harmonix just released their next wave of downloadable for Rock Band/Rock Band 2. Something which generally isn't that big of news. Generally. Except this time it is a full set of 12 Iron Maiden songs. Including one of my favorites, which was covered by Cradle of Filth, Hallowed Be Thy Name. Below is the full list as well as part of the 'zine just sent out. The only thing that kind of upsets me about this whole thing is there is no word on how it will be handled for the two tracks that have already been released. Read More...

A Change of Color
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 27th of May 2009 - 05:08 AM ]
Druids, are you tired of looking the same as all the other Druids? Would you want to change colors in your bear and cat form? Do you want to dance in bear form in style? Well now you can, as Blizzard has announced new looks for the Druids! In the next major patch for World of Warcraft, druids will be able to find color schemes for the bear and cat forms. Blizzard made the following announcement on their Under Development page: “There will be five different designs for each of these forms for the Horde and Alliance. Night elves can choose to change their cat and bear look at any time by visiting the barber shop and changing their character's hair color, while tauren will be able to change which look they use by switching skin tones in the barber shop -- a new feature for tauren in the next major content patch. In 2006 Marvel and Activision teamed up to create Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Combining the standard roster with downloadable content, Ultimate Alliance featured nearly 40 playable characters. The game was a success and this coming fall we'll get to see the sequel Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. Already there are 17 playable characters that will be a part of the roster with at least another dozen that have yet to be identified as playable or non-playable. Read More...

Midway to Sell Flagship Franchise, Studios
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 25th of May 2009 - 07:27 PM ]
Last Thursday’s announcement that Midway Games, of Mortal Kombat fame, will be selling off its Mortal Kombat franchise along with its Chicago and Seattle studios is not shocking.  We have watched this proud company take its lumps this past year with threats of closing or being bought, having its debt purchased and ultimately filing for bankruptcy.  Having grown up in Chicago, Midway Games was always a steady force in the Windy City just off of California Ave.  I even applied and interviewed for a job there once upon a time. Mo' Money, Mo' Blizzard
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 18th of May 2009 - 03:27 PM ]
So yesterday (5/16/09) was the big day for those who want to spend time in the World...of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. Tickets for Blizzcon went on sale yesterday and it looks like the economy has no affect, as tickets for Blizzcon sold out in 30 minutes. Apparently there is something that will get people out of the house and do something. Fortunately for us that would be Blizzcon 2009. For those who missed their chance to get into the action for the tickets, I would not worry. Read More...

Playstation 3 2.76 Software Update = Live
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 14th of May 2009 - 06:41 AM ]
So the inFamous compatibility 2.76 update for the PS3 "improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software. and you will no longer have to restart a game to display trophies after a hard drive upgrade or if you restore from the backup" (like we do that SO much). The software update is most likely aimed at issues that arose during the testing of inFamous, the new game coming from Sucker Punch. GO DOWNLOAD IT NOW WOOOT! *missing from the update is the ability to do cross-game invitations, cross-game microphone chatting, or anything that makes playing a game as easy as XBOX Live. Ghostly Multiplayer Madness
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 11:04 PM ]
Ghostbusters Game Trailer It makes total sense for this game to have a multiplayer aspect to it. Albeit, limited to four people multiplayer, but multiplayer none the less. What fun would it be if you could only have one of the Busters active by a player at a time? Especially with the others possibly being run by an AI that could be poor. Don't need another Sheva incident, if you know what I mean. The below video shows off all the fun madness of the multiplayer, as well as some of the new weapons and enemies for the Ghostbusters world. Read More...

Katamari Forever
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 08:31 PM ]
This fall is going to bring plenty of games worth checking out, but if there’s one title that deserves a little bit of the spotlight it’s Katamari Forever. As a PS3 exclusive, Katamari Forever is the latest in the popular, but often underrated, Katamari Damacy series. Once again the cosmos are in danger as the King of All Cosmos has fallen into a coma. In his absence the very stars begin to disappear from the night sky. Our only chance is the Prince and his impeccable Katamari rolling abilities. Read More...

Do You Smell What Marcus Fenix Is Cooking
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 10th of May 2009 - 01:25 PM ]
If you haven’t heard by now there is another video game movie in the works. And this time it’s for Gears of War (chainsaw FTW). Chris Morgan, who has written such movies as Fast and Furious and Wanted, just wrapped up the script for the upcoming movie and now they are looking for a cast. He is looking for his main actor to play Marcus Fenix, and while others are thinking of actors like Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, or maybe Chuck Norris. That is not the case for Chris, as he is actually thinking about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play Marcus Fenix. Chris Morgan told MTV, “The Rock is awesome. Read More...

Hell, It is about time!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 8th of May 2009 - 07:29 AM ]
Am I reading this right? Beta testing for Starcraft 2? I say, “Hell, It’s about time!”. You know what that means right? That means I (if I even get the beta key) get to test out a game that I have waited over 10 years for. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed today (or yesterday depending on when you read this) by saying “This summer we will be opening up external beta testing, and while we haven’t announced a release date yet, this phase will also signal the final stretch [of development on the game]” I bet you are wondering how you can sign up for the beta. Well fear not lurkers, it’s really simple. Go to Battle. Read More...
