Everyone who plays Guitar Hero is curious to know what songs are going to be in the upcoming World Tour. Yes, Ozzy is confirmed and activision has nailed 2 of his songs, Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley. OZZFest has also been confirmed as an in-game venue, exclusive to World Tour. Zakk Wylde is confirmed to be a playable character with the song Stillborn. Metallica is coming back again with their song Trapped Under The Ice. And the song that I know a lot of people have been dying for is BYOB by System of a Down. Read More...

Is Activision Blizzard canning games?
by Nikole [ Tuesday, 29th of July 2008 - 08:35 PM ]
The newly formed duo of Activision Blizzard has presented there schedule of releases. While many titles were mentioned, several highly publicized games received none whatsoever. Terminal Reality, 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand and most notably: Ghostbusters, were all absent from the list. The lack of these titles, as well as massive "realignments" with the staff of High Moon Studio and Radical Entertainment, is leading many to wonder if some titles and studios are being dropped because of the merger. It is already known that Massive Entertainment and Swordfish Studios are being considered for sale or closure at this time. The situation was made even more grim when the company released information stating several titles would be dropped. Read More...

Gears of War 2: Linked Achievements
by Nikole [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 10:03 PM ]
In Gears of War 2 news, the people of Epic seem to really understand their audience. Epic loves us for exactly what we are, a bunch of achievement whores. Now while some people may be above spending time going through games solely to raise their gamer score, most of us are not. Epic has created a whole new type of achievement system, called "linked" achievements. Linked Achievements occur when someone obtains an achievement in the first game(Gears of War), this then unlocks new content in the second game(Gears of War 2). Some examples of this are:- Complete Act One in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2- Find 10 COG tags in Gears Of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2- Kill Raam in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2According to xboxfocus. Event-Ghosts-of-Aliens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 06:17 PM ]
More On Dead Space I will apologize now if my next few news articles come straight out of Comic-Con 2008 or tie ins. I was way to busy to keep things up to date while I was there, but I will do my best to get it all out there in my personal Blogs and here as well. That aside... This is some new stuff I caught on this very much hyped game from EA. They had a spectacular booth and panel for this game. With a dude in the full on armor shown in the trailers. Read More...

New Dead Space Trailer Advises Strategic Dismemberment So let me guess. You saw that title and thought "WTF? I gotta check this out." I know that's what I did when I first saw this. It is also why I clicked onto the video. (See below.) It is about what I was expecting as well. Well maybe not exactly, but I was not let down with what I got from clicking the link and watching the video. So what is this? It is a show of the game Dead Space, a little bit. Read More...

Geek Culture and Flexible Morality
by [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2008 - 09:18 PM ]
Morality is a tricky subject, as it is something that is subjective depending on background and culture.   People of faith will argue there is only one moral code, and you either follow it or you don't.  Down to earth, I've noticed there are 3 rules about morality and people that are pretty fail-proof:   1. People will never hesitate to express to you what they feel is morally right and wrong 2. Said people will apply their form of morality to you and judge you upon it 3. Read More...

Call of Duty 4 for Mac Has a Release Date
by Andy [ Friday, 13th of June 2008 - 05:59 PM ]
As an avid mac fan one thing that seriously sucks is the lack of games that are made for the mac. Once I heard that COD4 was going to made for the mac, I was insanely excited, I counted down the days til May and checked http://www.aspyr.com/product/info/88 as often as I could to try and find a release date. Alas, I could never find one, so I found myself searching google for the date. I came across a couple of forums that said they game was due around in June, somewhere in the middle. Read More...

HACK Ads Invade CAL'S Website
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Tuesday, 10th of June 2008 - 09:48 PM ]
For anyone familiar with most any website, Google Ads is probably a common distraction. The Cyberathlete Amateur League aka CAL, proved today more than ever that it's no exception to the mayhem brought upon by Google's "selection" for the ads generated. Today these lovely ads gracefully advertised "Hacks" on their CS Intermediate division's page in a display of irony that can only be responded by with plenty of laughs. "GET THE BEST WORKING CS HACKS" ...while you check your messages, division news and download the Anti-Cheat System? Read More...

Jack Thompson's Florida Bar trial late last year has recommended that the controversial attorney be found guilty on 27 of 31 professional misconduct charges.
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Thursday, 22nd of May 2008 - 06:04 PM ]
"A celebrity is a person who works hard all his life to become well known, then wears dark glasses to avoid being recognized."  This is how JT treated him self when you watch him on any interview he would do about gaming.  With all his tricks and lies it was bound to catch up with him.  I assume there will just be another nut job who replaces his bag of tricks.   The judge who presided over Jack Thompson's Florida Bar trial late last year has recommended that the controversial attorney be found guilty on 27 of 31 professional misconduct charges. Among the Florida Bar offenses for which Judge Tunis has recommended a guilty verdict:Knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunalKnowingly disobeying an obligation under the rules of a tribunalCommunicating the merits of the case with a judge before whom the proceeding is pendingUsing means that have no purpose other than to embarrass, delay or burden a third personEngaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentationEngaging in conduct in connection with the practice of law that is prejudicial to the administration of justice, including to knowingly or through callous indifference disparage or humiliate litigants or other lawyersMaking statements that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judge     Thanks to GamePolitics. by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Thursday, 22nd of May 2008 - 05:57 PM ]
Variety has news that Castlevania & Pac-Man are set in stone to be made as "movies" for you and me to see while sucking down a drink and popcorn.  Will the movies suck is a big question many will have.  "Castlevania," a co-production with Universal's Rogue Pictures. Project, based on the Konami vidgame, is written by Paul Anderson ("Resident Evil") and directed by Sylvain White ("Stomp the Yard").  Other titles in the Grosvenor Park-funded slate include an adaptation of Richard Branson's memoir "Losing My Virginity," a bigscreen adaptation of vidgame "Pac-Man" and a sequel to John Woo's actioner "Hard Boiled"; company also controls the rights to Brad Thor's bestselling novels. Portal Is Still Alive...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2008 - 04:28 PM ]
More Maps For Portal This was a triumph... I'm making a note here... HUGE SUCCESS! Ok enough of that. But you really can't deny the fact that the game was a huge thing. It spawned all kinds of other media based off of just this little mod to Half Life. And it just keeps coming out. This time in more maps based from the 2D Flash version of the game. This is a 40 map pack and features a new "test subject" for these said levels. Yes you read it. Read More...
