Review: Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 02:39 PM ]
Last we left this extremely odd couple, they were fleeing for their life with Kane's daughter not too well off. Now, from what you have seen so far of the story, it is years later and the two seem to have become closer even over international lines. At least it seems they are closer because I know I wouldn't want to go meet up with a psychopath that moved to China unless I had a better bond than "We Broke Out Of Jail Together." In any instance, the duo is back and ready to cut a new deal to finally get Kane out of the life of crime. Only with their luck, things are just not that simple. Read More...

Now That Revolt From Deus Ex Can Be Seen
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 09:07 PM ]
Earlier, we got to see some new screen shots for Deus Ex. Really nice shots. In fact, to me they looked like they were taken from another hi-res trailer we would be getting in the near future. You know what? I was partially right. That is, in the fact that we have a new "trailer" to look at for the game. Only thing is, it is not a hi-res clip but an in-game clip. A clip that you can see below once I am done telling you about it. Read More...

Review: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 04:26 PM ]
The epic of epic epicness has finally hit the big screens after its popular start as a graphic novel. What better way to cash in on the fame than to make a video game based on it all too. Not only that, but a video game that captures the same look and feel of the graphic novel and film at that. This is what Ubisoft thought too by pitching the game in the fashion of a Mega Man 2 style. I am sure all of this already appeals to those of you who love comics and "retro" games, but let's break it down and see if Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - The Game can actually take on the gaming world. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Seventy Five: E3 2010 Wrap-Up
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 01:55 PM ]
Despite reports that the AggroCast team is dead, we are still alive and kicking...and playing games to boot. While we catch up on our lives during this summer, you too can catch up with some previously unreleased episodes of the AggroCast. Start with Episode 75, the one where David, Binh and Brian wrap up E3 2010. The team spent their last day at E3 scrambling around looking and playing anything they could get their grubby little hands on. This list includes some of the latest games from Bethesda and Square-Enix's Final Fantasy XIV. Read More...

Costume Quest Makes That Transformers Costume Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of August 2010 - 07:06 PM ]
While it is not a game with a great overall concept like Brütal Legend, Costume Quest is just about what we have come to expect from Tim Schafer's studio Double Fine. Oh wait, you don't know what Costume Quest is? Let me give you the run down. Costume Quest is a rollicking Adventure/Role-Playing game that unfolds on Halloween night across seemingly peaceful suburban neighborhoods, a mysterious village carnival, and a monster-infested shopping mall. Created by Double Fine's lead animator, Tasha Harris, the game follows the adventure of a group of young friends who must rid their neighborhood of monsters using only their wits, their bravery, and their home-made costumes. Players go door-to-door collecting candy, points, cards, battle stamps and quest assignments as they prepare themselves for Combat Mode-where they transform into larger-than-life versions of their costumes. Get Your Head Up In The Clouds With BioShock Infinte
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of August 2010 - 02:08 PM ]
BioShock fans can rejoice, at least a little bit. While the final DLC pack for BioShock 2 is on its way here in the coming months, it has been officially been announced that the franchise will live on. Even though we will have to wait until 2012 for the next incarnation, the previously dubbed Project Icarus has been revealed. Welcome to BioShock Infinite. While I do say next incarnation, BioShock Infinite is not a sequel in terms of story though. Read More...

Ninjas & Robots Team Up, Nothing Good Can Come Of This
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of August 2010 - 06:11 PM ]
Instead of facing off in a bloody, futuristic main event, like they should have, 2K Games and Gearbox are teaming up to show their post-apocalyptic supremacy over everything. At least that is the premise behind the new DLC for Borderlands - Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Wait, you didn't know there is some new DLC rolling out for Borderlands? Well consider this a nice little daily double, even though it is all wrapped into one package. /MindBlown I'll give you a moment to collect your thoughts again. Read More...

SOE Fan Faire Hands On: Magic: The Gathering - Tactics
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 09:36 PM ]
While wandering about the show floor of SOE's Fan Faire, I stumbled upon something I have not had a good look at in almost a decade: Magic: The Gathering. You know, that collectible trading card game that was all the rage back in the early to mid-90's. Well, at least it was all the rage in the circles I rolled in. It had been such a long time since I had any solid contact with this franchise. I knew there have been umpteen expansions for the card game as well as a few PC games released around the franchise, but it wasn't until I got a good look at Magic: The Gathering - Tactics that I felt myself being pulled back into the universe. All hoping that Game Informer - where all the exclusive new information is coming from - would dole out some more soon. Well I am glad to say that they have let some more slip out. What may they have let slip out into the wonderful world of the interweb? Well the below bullet points. Story info: Quincy Sharp is now running for mayor. Read More...

Let's Get Super Naughty With Naughty Bear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 04:28 PM ]
You know for a game that was not as widely accepted, outside of a small cult following, you would think that 505 Games and A2M would have moved on to another IP. But I guess it looks like Naughty Bear finally balled up and took them on to make his game even better. Better by adding in a whole new level, bear types, costumes and more to the story of Naughty Bear. Looks like the bears on the Island of Perfection have yet another scheme to take Naughty on with. Only this time a new group of superhero bears have come to the island. Read More...

SOE Fan Faire Hands On: DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 01:17 PM ]
You would think that with E3 and Comic Con only two months and two weeks, respectively, before Sony Online's big Fan Faire, that there would not be all that much new to happen with DC Universe Online. At least that's what I thought as I arrived to see what SOE had on display for their "true fans" in Las Vegas, NV last weekend. But I was greatly surprised that I was wrong; something that I rarely admit to happening. First, there was a new instance being shown off: Joker's Carnivale. Read More...

Brink Developer Diary - The Ark
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 10th of August 2010 - 08:37 PM ]
In the latest Game Developers Diary for the much anticipated action FPS Brink, we learn the story behind the Ark. This post apocalyptic battle rages within this compound which houses way more citizens than it was designed for. So now this takes us to the story line, which is the turtle vs. the hare. You have on one side the resistance camp that is out of resources due to overpopulation, and think that the islands security has been hoarding their resources, and need to start sharing the wealth. Thus begins the close quarters civil war. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 9th of August 2010 - 08:15 PM ]
Looks like today is day for everything Fable 3. First pumping news and trailers, now we have information on pre-order content. Microsoft announced today the 'Fable 3 Villager Maker.' Players that pre-order the game will be able to build and import your own character into the game, along with some other interesting features. "Your custom in-game villager will deliver to your hero a thrilling new quest and 1,000 gold fortune, and then continue to interact with you on your journey to become ruler of Albion." Microsoft is boasting that there are more that 2,000 combinations players can take advantage of - including back story, personality traits, gender, clothing, accent, hair and geographic origin (where in the world of Albion your character came from). Deus Ex Let's You Revolt By Shanking People
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 9th of August 2010 - 05:16 PM ]
Let's face it, everyone likes to hand out a good old shanking to someone's face every now and then.* What better way to do that than a really cool "electrified" blade from behind? Am I right? Of course I am right. All proving-myself-right aside, it looks like that is just one of the really cool looking ways you will get to take down enemies in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. At least that is what I am gathering from these new screen shots handed out by Square Enix and Eidos for the game. If stabbing people isn't your bag, don't fret, there are a few other things you can observe. Read More...
