New Mode For Batman: Arkham Origins Gives Batman One Chance To Survive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of October 2013 - 09:50 PM ]
Good news for all you gamers out there who crave an extra challenge with your games. It has been announced that Batman: Arkham Origins will have a new difficulty mode called "I Am The Night" mode. This mode will only unlock after you have beaten the game not once, but twice. You complete the game once, I am assuming to unlock the second to hardest mode, and then complete the game again on New Game Plus mode. Once this is done you will have access to this new "nightmarish" mode. What make this mode stand apart? Read More...

New Destiny Trailer Will Fly You To The Moon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of October 2013 - 09:01 PM ]
Here we go with some great news for all of you out there looking forward to Destiny. If you pre-order the game now, and I'm assuming up until spring of 2014, you will gain access to the official beta for the game. The assumption before is based on the fact that this beta is slated for "Early 2014" or "spring 2014" and there would be no need to gain access after said beta has concluded. Either way, if you haven't pre-ordered yet, or if you have, you need to head down and get your beta code so you can get all set up. Just as a heads up though, you can only get access to the beta if you pre-order at the following locations. Read More...

Want To See Some Game Play For The Evil Within?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of October 2013 - 04:20 PM ]
Of course you do. In fact I have the game play that I got to watch for my E3 Impressions for The Evil Within here. Not exact as in step by step, but I do have all the sections that I was shown in the dark room. I knew if we waited patiently until the Eurogamer Expo that just took place we would get to see it in the wilds of the internet. Just to get the ball rolling for you, the game play picks up right after the initial trailer that was shown at TGS. Detective Sebastian Castellanos was just ambushed by a mysterious hooded figure and knocked out. Read More...

Let's Get To Know The Rag Tag Group Of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 30th of September 2013 - 05:55 PM ]
Nothing brings people together like a great heist. That's a saying, right? Well it is for my needs. Anyways, why should a great heist not bring a group of pirates together as we can see in the latest trailer for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag? With the unifying theme of greed among men who will most likely turn it around in the story to be the thing that saves us all from the evils of the world becoming the real story. Damn, I am going off topic again. Anyways, again, below is the latest trailer for the game with very sparse new info but at least it is a great advertising piece for us to devour. Read More...

WWE 2K14 Full Roster Revealed
by Greg Tatterfield [ Wednesday, 25th of September 2013 - 10:29 PM ]
Last Monday during Raw 2K Sports revealed the full roster for their upcoming game WWE 2K14. The roster features a nice balance between legends and current generation superstars. There are a few standouts here like Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (The Shield) who are in a WWE game for the first time ever. Also the previously announced Hulk Hogan was also a surprise due to his affiliation with rival company TNA. Unfortunately with how great this roster is there are a few main stays and up and comers that are missing. Read More...

Review: Power-Up
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 24th of September 2013 - 07:36 PM ]
It has been way too long since the last time I played a classic side scrolling bullet-hell. I’ve longed for something to remind me of my days of playing Super R-type on my SNES or shelling out quarters at an arcade. Thankfully, Psychotic Psoftware has broken out into the indie game business with Power-Up and has given me that nostalgia, as well as something new to savor. Power-Up is a brand new Xbox Live Indie Game from brand new one man developing studio, Psychotic Psoftware. It is a horizontal side-scrolling shoot-em up with beautiful scenery and frame rate. Review: Diablo III [PS3]
by Greg Tatterfield [ Monday, 16th of September 2013 - 06:42 PM ]
Last year Blizzard released Diablo III on PC to great reviews and critical acclaim. Now months after the PC release, console gamers get a chance to play the superb dungeon crawler. I am among the people who got their hands on Diablo III late since I am exclusively a console gamer. This review will be more for console gamers who have never played Diablo III, since I can’t speak for the original PC version because I have never played it. I will however touch upon the differences between PC and the console ports. What I hated: There were not many things that I hated about Diablo III. Read More...

Let's Pep Up On This Somber Day With A New Call of Duty: Ghosts Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of September 2013 - 07:10 PM ]
If you are an United States citizen then today has a different and most likely somber meaning than "just another day." It could also be a day where everyone and their sidekick try to use it to gain something in the guise of being topical or remorseful. It happens. It is human nature it would seem. In any instance we should all pay reverence to those who keep people like me free to post mindless gaming news on the internet. What better way to do that then to watch a new trailer for Call Of Duty: Ghosts so we can think we know what those brave people do? Attention grabbing aside now. Read More...

Can We ‘Quiet’ Down And Focus On The Drama Surrounding Metal Gear Solid V?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of September 2013 - 10:35 PM ]
I want to start off this whole thing with a nice quote from the amazing film Orgazmo. Take a look before I go into the bulk of what I want to talk about in this posting about the "over sexualization" in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V and comments made my Kojima. Just in case you skipped the clip, I don't know why you would have, it is pretty much how I feel about this whole "Sexy up" the characters in the game drama all over the internet. If you haven't heard this yet, doubtful, there was a huge splash made when Hideo Kojima spoke about making the characters in MGSV more erotic in hopes to get cosplayers and figurines of the game all over every convention. This is paraphrased mind you, but that is the short and dirty version. Read More...

Review: The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of September 2013 - 09:17 PM ]
Well this has been a long time coming since we got our first look years ago at E3 but The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has finally hit the streets. For a while there I was a little scared it wouldn't be coming out given the focus on other titles and a whole different game in the same franchise. But here we go. Does it still hold up to what was shown and/or promised way back when we had our little showcasing? Well let us see. Read More...

Titanfall Gamescom Demo Is A Little Too Mirror's Edge-like
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of August 2013 - 04:52 PM ]
I am sure that everyone has seen the following Titanfall trailer straight out of Gamescom last week. If not, then take a gander below. I am still trying to get excited for the game myself, slowly but surely, but I am starting to notice more and more of the "Free Running" aspect that was glossed over before and seems to be a key element to missions and survival. In earlier demos and showcasing this feature kind of seemed like a nice little extra to get to specific places on the map. This could be just what I took away from it all as I watched but, like I said, it is looking more or a key player… a star if you will. Read More...

Shadow Of The Beast Looks Re-Imagined As Another God Of War
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of August 2013 - 09:45 PM ]
A little history lesson here. Back in the very late 80's and early 90's there was a game called Shadow Of The Beast that also spawned two sequels. Lesson over. Now in the coming year(s) here we are getting a "Re-Imagining" of the game exclusively on the PlayStation 4. That is really the all the information that has been announced so far outside of the following teaser trailer. Not even a developer and I think it is safe to assume that Sony will be publishing it, but who knows. So let's sit back and speculate based on what we get to see here. Read More...
