It has started up again. WCG's Ultimate Gamer 2 premiered last night on SyFy - bringing the gaming culture to the masses on cable TV. With the crazy amount of news coming out of Gamescom this year, even a little teaser trailer of the recently announced Torchlight 2 is generating plenty of buzz. Besides showing some outdoor environments, there really isn't a whole lot shown here, but the teaser did absolutely everything it needed to accomplish - raise the level of excitement and anticipation. Looks like players of Lord of the Rings Online will not have to wait much longer for the highly anticipated Free-to-Play content update. Today it was announced that Turbine will be releasing the update on September 10th. The entire free-to-play structure has been under close scrutiny by fans and the press alike. Diablo III, just the title sends a rush of excitement through players all over the world. Today at Gamescom the Blizzard team announced a new feature they are calling the "Caravan". What is the caravan? Well basically it's taking a group of skilled craftsmen with you where ever you go. Rather than going back to a town you will have a living breathing camp that follows you from location to location giving you round the clock access to NPC's, quest givers and artisans. Artisans will be your crafters, from blacksmiths to jewel crafters, and you will add these artisans to your Caravan as you travel the world, finding them through the main quest line. Not long ago BioWare announced Dragon Age II with a website and more recently a good amount of information from hands-on previews and a full article in Game Informer. At the EA press conference in Cologne Germany during Gamescom, EA gave us our first look at the cinematic trailer for Dragon Age II and it is definitely worth watching. The trailer is titled "Destiny" and it is a spectacle to behold; nothing less should be expected from BioWare. Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about. Last we left this extremely odd couple, they were fleeing for their life with Kane's daughter not too well off. Now, from what you have seen so far of the story, it is years later and the two seem to have become closer even over international lines. At least it seems they are closer because I know I wouldn't want to go meet up with a psychopath that moved to China unless I had a better bond than "We Broke Out Of Jail Together." BioShock fans can rejoice, at least a little bit. While the final DLC pack for BioShock 2 is on its way here in the coming months, it has been officially been announced that the franchise will live on. While wandering about the show floor of SOE's Fan Faire, I stumbled upon something I have not had a good look at in almost a decade: Magic: The Gathering. You know, that collectible trading card game that was all the rage back in the early to mid-90's. Well, at least it was all the rage in the circles I rolled in. It had been such a long time since I had any solid contact with this franchise. I knew there have been umpteen expansions for the card game as well as a few PC games released around the franchise, but it wasn't until I got a good look at Magic: The Gathering - Tactics that I felt myself being pulled back into the universe. Now that Comic Con 2010 is a thing of the not too distant past, let's take a moment to reflect back on everything that happened there. Just when you thought that maybe there was nothing left to be done in BioShock 2 another DLC pack is sent our way. First it was more multiplayer.
