Guitar Hero Ready To Play Sets
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of July 2010 - 10:50 PM ]
In the past with rhythm/music when it was time to inform the masses of the track lists usually we just got a long list of songs and artists for us all to gawk at. Sometimes Gods like me would go through the list and try to add a link to the song so you knew what it sounded like. Sometimes the titles don't really go with the part of the song we all know. It was a nice little thing I liked to give our readers. Well from the below video it looks like Activision is stealing a page from my book like Naughty Bear did. Read More...

Review: Transformers: War for Cybertron
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 6th of July 2010 - 08:18 PM ]
When Activision first announced that High Moon Studios would be making a Transformers game, I was a bit skeptical. That is, until I saw the trailer and screen shots of the game. Granted it is not the Transformers we all, or at least most of us, know and love. And no, I do not mean the recent live-action Transformers movie. I am talking about the 80's cartoon series, including the full length movie where I first cried over the fact that Optimus Prime died in the epic battle with Megatron*. Unlike the most recent movie-based Transformers game, High Moon Studio took everything we love about Transformers and created a 3rd person shooter with a great story. Read More...

Club Nintendo Rewards Announced
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 2nd of July 2010 - 08:31 PM ]
It's that time again where Nintendo rewards its faithful for liberally stuffing their corporate pockets full of money and doing free market research for them. Yesterday Nintendo released their Elite Rewards for 2010 in an email to Club Nintendo participants. Club Nintendo is a customer reward program. You purchase Nintendo products, register them on the Club Nintendo site and then you fill out a "brief" survey to earn coins that may be redeemed for prizes. If it was a grocery store chain, you'd have a little card with a barcode hanging off your key ring. Read More...

E3 2010: Sights And Sounds
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 29th of June 2010 - 06:54 PM ]
It has been over a week now since E3 closed its doors. Since then I have been pouring over the many pictures I snapped - from the Activision Party to the Nintendo and Sony presser to everything else in between. I also managed to film some of the Method Man and Redman concert at the Konami booth. You may think it is all fun and games when you are at E3, and at times can be, but it is also a lot of hard work. We work tirelessly to bring you the latest news, impressions and hands-on articles as quickly as we can. We also met a lot of great people and miss the ones we didn't get a chance to meet up with. E3 2010 Hands On: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 28th of June 2010 - 04:31 PM ]
At E3 2009 Konami showed a trailer, for the first time, for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Needless to say, it took nearly everyone by surprised. A year later Konami showcased the game with a playable demo. I wasn't able to play the full length of the game but I still played long enough to talk about what I played. The demo started off in the rainy village, where Gabriel has come to find leads about the whereabouts of a powerful unnamed entity. As Gabriel rides up on his horse he is sees villagers leaving the town. Read More...

E3 2010 Hands-On: The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 21st of June 2010 - 03:50 PM ]
It started with a rush of excitement from the crowd in the Nokia Theatre on Tuesday morning and proceeded throughout E3. A brand-new Legend of Zelda was coming to the Nintendo Wii. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the Wii Motion Plus-based adventure fans have been clamoring for since the little white box’s inception. Not much of the story has been released for Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but judging by the reaction at the Nintendo Press Conference and how long people were willing to wait in line to experience the brief demo at E3, that is not a concern…yet. All these people needed (myself included) was simply the chance to put the announced one-to-one movements to the test. Read More...

E3 2010 Impression: Nintendo 3DS
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 20th of June 2010 - 10:05 PM ]
Since the first announcement of the Nintendo DS back in 2004 and the many versions that have followed, hearing of a new iteration has many asking: do we really need another DS? In  this case, yes we do. At their press conference, Nintendo showcased for the first time their latest new portable device - the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS is a device that can show 3D effects without the need for any special glasses. Wednesday morning I beelined right into the Nintendo booth to get some hands-on with the new device. Spider-Man 2099 Officially A Dimension
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of June 2010 - 08:54 PM ]
Well my bubble is now busted. What I thought was a Judge Dread meets Todd McFarlane dimension has finally been confirmed as not to be. But instead called something stupid like Spider-Man 2099. Yea, The E3 video below confirms our worst nightmares. Oh wait... What..? Not our worst dreams but something we were hoping for. That's what I meant. Although you have to admit a Spider-Man/Spawn/Judge Dread cross over dimension would have been awesome to play through. Read More...

[Rumor] GoldenEye Coming To Wii?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 7th of June 2010 - 10:53 PM ]
According to a leaked survey, the classic four person Nintendo shooter GoldenEye might be being built from the ground up by Activision, and coming to Wii consoles. This leak comes with possible box art and some concept screens. According to the leak, GoldenEye has been "Modernized" and will feature all the weapons and characters we love from Onatopp to Trevalyan, as well as classic weapons like the PP7 and high tech assault rifle. The leak also showed a picture of a new Wii controller shell, and a soon to be coveted gold plated classic N64 controller. Yep looks like everything is there for all the classic fans, but this time you'll be playing as the new bond (Daniel Craig). Read More...

Spider-Man Shatters Into the Judge Dread Dimension
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of June 2010 - 06:35 PM ]
Ok, not really but it sure does look like a toned down version of Judge Dread in these new screen shots from Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions doesn't it? Of course it does. It also looks like a Spawn look has overtaken Spider-Man from these new screens as well, which looks extremely bad ass in my oh so non-humble opinion. But one question still runs in my head - what dimension is this one? Is it the same Roid-Rage one that the Goblin is seen in? Read More...

by Brian Goodman [ Friday, 4th of June 2010 - 04:41 PM ]
For all of you who think you don't have enough undersized plastic guitars littering your dorm rooms, publisher Activision and developer Neversoft (previously of Tony Hawk fame) have announced the 6th major installment of its flagship Guitar Hero franchise. What's new this time around you may ask? That's an interesting question with a long winded answer (is there any other kind from me?). So you most likely know that you will be able to see the Microsoft Presentation and the Sony Presentation online via one of the many streaming sources. But what about the third in the triangle of video game powerhouses? Will they leave you ass out? Of course not. Just like last year, those who are not able to make it to the physical location in LA, for lack of being in the industry or travel funds, they are giving you the hook up. When the time is right, you can head on over to e3.nintendo. Read More...
