The Game Awards Have Been Announced Because We Need Another One…
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of November 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
Geoff Keighley has announced that it is time for The Game Awards show, another awards show just for video games I was thinking the other day "Why don't we have another awards show for video games?" Looks like someone was reading my mind as it looks like we have The Game Awards just announced by Geoff Keighley coming our way to celebrate the video game industry. If the VGX and other award shows of the past weren't proof enough that most gamers out there don't care for an awards show then I don't know what else will. Although to be honest after hearing a bit more on The Game Awards show some doubts could be put aside as it doesn't sound like one network's way to grab some quick cash using our beloved subculture. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of October 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
The final behind the scenes video for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has been released from Gearbox and 2K Games to show off all the weapons and beyond for the game We are on the verge of the release for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and it is time to wrap up this whole behind the scenes look at how and why Gearbox and 2K are making the game. With that we also get a nice look at the design and ideas behind all of the weapons we have grown to love in Borderlands and Borderlands 2 as well as what we are to expect in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Yes they've gone over the new weapon types and everything umpteen times before but this time it is more the look and feel instead of the actual effects and damage numbers that get output to the screen. Skylanders Trap Team Adds More Kaos To The Mix
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 15th of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new gameplay mode for Skylanders Trap Team has been announced called the Kaos Doom Challenge and plays like a tower defense Just in case giving us the ability to use and play as the villains in Skylanders Trap Team wasn't enough, it looks like we are getting yet another mode to play the game in. No longer do we have just a fun little platformer game but now we are looking at a "tower defense" of sorts making its way into the game in the form of the Kaos Doom Challenge. There is something about that word and Kaos that I can't just seem to put my finger on…* Anyways, this new gameplay mode for Skylanders Trap Team looks to pit players and all of their Skylanders in a 100 wave of "doom" where enemies will be flooding the arena to take you down. Mixed in will be the "Mystery Box of Doom" that will unleash gigantic villains into the mix to ensure your ultimate doom. Read More...

Is It Butt-Slam Or Butt-Stomp In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of August 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
The next episode of the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel behind the scenes series is out and covers some of the game's mechanics Here we go with part two of the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel "making of" YouTube series. Part One covered how the two studios were handling the workload and physical separation. Part two here looks to cover some of the ne mechanics that will make Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel feel like a Borderlands game but "take risks" Gearbox and 2K didn't want to take in the previous titles. Hooray for being guinea pigs with something the publisher didn't have faith in two times already… Ok, well maybe not something they didn't believe in but something that the people making Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel have had time to perfect to give us that added bonus while playing. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel was not going to be left out of this as the event out there in San Diego was the perfect place to show off how awesome the game can be. Even more so when 2K Games teams up with the Nerdist crew to bring us all a way to play a live Borderlands game via laser tag and some amazing set pieces that looked like they were lifted from the game. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new gameplay trailer for There Came An Echo shows off the voice commands in the War Room mode of the game Who needs the Kinect or the PS Camera when you can control every aspect of a game with your voice like in There Came An Echo? Yes, this feature has been in many other titles in the past and it has been met with great criticism and hatred but why not try it again? It was talked about for There Came An Echo before but we have yet to see anything in the way of actual voice command working for the game. This Week In Gaming 7/7/14 — 7/11/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming There goes one more week of gaming news in the bag. It felt like a very directed week for gaming news if you do ask me but then again we give you what we get. Also when we get it…as long as it fits in our theme of gaming news here on the site. Granted not all of the news we have is 100% gaming related but that is splitting hairs where we don't need to be. Back to my "directed" comment. Read More...

Nerdist Is Taking Us Into The Borderlands At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of July 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
Just announced as part of the outside SDCC events is the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel laser tag arena hosted by Nerdist Not to be left out of the fun of SDCC in now Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel brought to us by Carl's Jr 2K Games and Nerdist. It looks as if they didn't want to miss out on the fun of having something like The Walking Dead Escape at the convention this year so they are bringing us a Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel themed Laser Tag arena for fans to go crazy Broadway style in. Maybe I should say "go crazy Borderlands style" instead but to each their own. During the entire convention we will all be able to be in the Borderlands co-op via laser tag from 11am to 5pm. Let's See That Texas Vs. Australia Rivalry For Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Check out the new behind the scene video produced for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel We got to see the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel E3 Demo earlier this week so why not hop in and see how all of that was made. Or at least see how part of it was made with the following "Behind The Scenes" video that has just been released to the public and internet today. It's a nice and short little video that shows how Gearbox, 2K Marin, and 2K Australia have teamed up to bring us Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel instead of Borderlands 3. Don't get too excited to see new footage for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel here though as it is filled with all of the goodies that beings like me love, the technical stuff. Read More...

Here Is The 15 Minute Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Demo From E3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A narrated version of the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel E3 demo has been released for those who may have missed it Last week we had the short "Survival Tips" video for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Now we have all the goodies that we actually were able to play on the floor at E3. I swear 2K is trying to keep the wonderment of E3 going as Evolve received all the limelight there and not their other titles. No matter the case though, they have taken it upon themselves to give us a little slice of the level and mission that they had to show. Spoiler alert, it looks like Borderlands in space with a few new gizmos and elements. Read More...

A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming So it has been a bit on the slow side of gaming news this week but that didn't stop us from having loads to bring you. All kinds of things too. From smaller indie games to games you will be able to play in the real world instead of your normal gaming habits. I'm not talking about any of that motion control stuff that has seemed to fall completely to the sidelines. You know what I am talking about hopefully. Read More...

Here's What People Waited 2 Hours To See For Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel At E3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of July 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
The 'under the dome' E3 exclusive video for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has been released online for those who didn't get a chance to see it If there is one other thing I learned at E3 this year it is that all of you Borderlands fans are pretty damn rabid to see anything for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Case in point will be the below video that fans stood in line upwards of two hours just to see under the safety of a moon dome that took up a third of the entire 2K booth. Granted this was played just before we were all queued up to actually play Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel but only half of the group actually went on to do just that. Read More...
