Well there's not much else to report here except go here to get your hands on one of the best PC-exclusive action titles ever released. Nothing streamlined or dumbed down for the console, just pure 30 button action at its best. There have been some reports of server issues, but they seem to have been resolved. I personally think this is an awesome move that will have a short term loss, long term gain for Microsoft (who has finally released one of my favorite IP's), as well as Smith and Tinker - a new developer who has taken the reins for Mechwarrior 5. It's an exciting time to be a gamer because there is definitely a lot of pivotal stuff going on in our industry right now. Today I want to go on about a reasonably new development of an old concept. Expansion packs have been around since the mid 90's in the PC world. Back when the PC dinosaurs ruled the video game landscape (and just about any game could be played on any computer without a video card that costs more than a PS3), if there was a successful game, a half a year or so later we would see an expansion pack. People who enjoyed a game could purchase more content for around $20 to $30-ish. The managing director of Remedy Games, Matias Myllyrine has reportedly tweeted today that he is disappointed that gameplay footage of Alan Wake has been leaked. To quote, "Game journalism is not about playing a game in ten minute segments and posting random quality videos on the net. Disappointed." You can not follow game industry news and not have noticed the countless reports of the drama currently going on between publishing giant Activision and successful Call Of Duty developer Infinity Ward. Even legitimate news sources have covered the huge lawsuit frenzy that has been going on. Today, industry analysts have suggested that as many as 20 more Infinity Ward Employees are projected to no longer be employed by the company in a month's time (source Gamespot). Even though strong sales of the Modern Warfare 2 map pack DLC suggest a short term financial positive for Activision, the stock has continued to go down. Mega Man 10 (available on XBLA, WiiWare, and PSN for 800 MS Pts/1000 Wii Pts/$10, respectively) is an incredibly fun and enjoyable entry in the classic Mega Man series. A follow-up to 2008's Mega Man 9 in more ways than just a new number, this game takes a lot of the feedback and criticism the latter had to craft one of the best sidescrolling experiences in years. While there isn't a whole lot Capcom and Inti Creates actually changed in the bigger scheme of things, Mega Man 10 features a lot of new tweaks and balance adjustments that make it far less threatening than its predecessor and more entertaining in the long run. While there are some tough areas in the game, overall I wouldn't call it difficult at all, and perhaps it is one of the most fair games in the series. Read More...

It is no secret what Cliff Bleszinski and the rest of the crew over at Epic Games are working on with the pre-mature announcement over on XBL (way to go Microsoft to blow that news). I knew it was going to be only a matter of time before the metal overlords known as GWAR made the move onto Rock Band. They hit up Guitar Hero already so why not move onto the Rock Band Network and spread their domination even further. Especially since Harmonix made it so much easier for bands to upload their songs to the network. Only a three week turn around most of the time, so they claim. There is no news on what songs or when the songs would most likely be seen, but from the interview performed at SXSW with lead singer/front man, Oderus Urungus, it looks to be in the works.
