Love 'em or hate 'em, Facebook games are a part of today's general gaming landscape. They come in many shapes and sizes – requiring various amounts of your time and (the developers hope) money. It's hard to give a hard and fast review on Facebook games, which like any other Massively Multiplayer Online game, it is constantly evolving. In lieu of a review, I decided to pull out my 10 Things You Ought to Know-style article and take a look at The Sims Social. You’re going to ask a lot of your friends. Read More...

Review: Grand Prix Story
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 10th of August 2011 - 05:17 PM ]
Mobile gaming has come a long way in terms of game design and depth. One of the leading developers in this area is Kairosoft. Their first big hit, Game Dev Story, turned a lot of heads, gaining critical acclaim for their simulation of running a video game development studio. Their latest release on the Android platform is Grand Prix Story – a simulation of running an automobile racing team. Start your smart phones! You start out by choosing your racing team’s name. E3 2011 Impressions: Tomb Raider
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of June 2011 - 04:11 PM ]
If there is one franchise that feels like it has been milked to death, it would be Tomb Raider. The true definition that sex sells in gaming. So it would be very little surprise that Eidos would look into remaking such a beloved franchise for more money. Only from what we got to see at E3, I would not put it in the normal "remake for money" category just yet. This new Tomb Raider looks like it is going to do for this franchise what Batman Begins did for the Batman film franchise. It is darker. Read More...

E3 2011 Impressions: Torchlight II
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 13th of June 2011 - 11:34 PM ]
When I stumbled upon Torchlight during 2009’s E3, I knew I had found something special. Of all the games I came away wowed by during that show, Torchlight was definitely one that stood out in my mind after the buzz wore off. Fast forward to 2011, as Runic Games attempts to make a repeat performance at E3 with Torchlight II. At first glance, you will feel a familiarity with Torchlight II. The art style hasn't changed dramatically, though they seemed to have spruced up some of the textures. Read More...

Star Wars: The Old Republic E3 Intro Cinematic
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 8th of June 2011 - 05:15 AM ]
Okay, that's it. If I have to watch one more cinematic teaser for Star Wars: The Old Republic, I'm gonna scream. Honestly, these things are so awesome, it's almost like a feature length film. The latest one released at E3 this year has me torn. I'm no longer sure if I want to be a Jedi or a Sith - and for good reason. I'm just going to sit in a dark room and watch all these cinematics in a row until the game comes out. Seriously though, I was hoping for more gameplay at E3, but this will do. Read More...

Batman Takes On FPS In Gotham City Impostors
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of May 2011 - 05:27 PM ]
Here is where that pesky Batman: Arkham City multiplayer rumor got its foundation, well at least that is what I speculate. It looks like just before we get the new Arkham game we are getting Gotham City Imposters. Sounds like a weird Batman tribute white rapper band, but it is a new FPS from Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive. Wait a second. Read More...

Finally Some Prototype 2 Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of May 2011 - 06:07 PM ]
Maybe it is just me, or because we are still a year out from launch, but the visuals for Prototype 2 don't seem to be going the way most sequels go. Usually there is some insane boost or extreme change in how things look. From the below screen I'd swear that they were take straight out of the first game. Not that it is a bad thing, but a little unexpected. I do have to say that some of these shots do have me raring to go back and play the original Prototype just because of how much fun I originally had. Read More...

Call Of Duty To Become The Next Guitar Hero?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of April 2011 - 04:20 PM ]
A leaked memo from Activision's CEO Eric Hirshberg is sure to have Call of Duty fans shaking in their boots and at the same time jumping for joy. The memo, from back in February, shows that Eric and the rest of the company are weary that Call of Duty might end up just like Guitar Hero. Let's see why this is a good thing for Call of Duty fans. Eric believes that the key to continuing Call of Duty's success is its Quality, saying "We need to focus: on making games that constantly raise the quality bar; on staying ahead of the innovation curve; on surrounding the brand with a suite of services and an online community that makes our fans never want to leave. Entertainment franchises with staying power are rare. Read More...

Up Close And Personal With Mortal Kombat's Shang Tsung
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of April 2011 - 03:42 PM ]
It wouldn't be Mortal Kombat without Shang Tsung. We all know he is in the game, but wouldn't you like to see/hear his story in this outing? How different can it be from all of the older titles? I mean, seriously. Well let's see what has been cooked up for him in the new Mortal Kombat. Ok… So nothing all that new as far as the story goes. Although I do have to say that the Fatality shown is pretty fucking cool. I want to make people knowingly pull their own heads off and be powerless to stop it. Read More...

Who Is AMY? Besides A New Survival Horror For The PSN...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of April 2011 - 06:06 PM ]
So we heard a little about this a few months ago. A new survival horror on the PSN called Amy. There have been a few screens thrown up for our approval, but then there has been nothing much. This is odd seeing as VectorCell Studios and Lexis Numérique are aiming for a June 2011 release. You'd think we would have more, which ends the lead in here. Today we are given just a bit more on AMY, a game that seems to be all about one of the things that are despised in Survival Horror games; escort missions. Yep, the overview of the story and game play make it seem to be 90% escort mission and the other 10% a mix of everything else. Read More...

It's Time For Mortal Kombat!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of April 2011 - 05:38 PM ]
It is official. Mortal Kombat has gone gold. We no longer have to worry about major delays or cancelations. Not that we were at all. It is no Duke Nukem Forever or anything. Am I right? Huh? Huh…? Now as we wait for April 19th to slowly work its way to us, we get to pass the time looking at screens and videos. That is if you have played the demo to death since it came out. If you did, below we have a few more screens to add to the mix as we wait a few more weeks. Read More...
