This Week In Video Games 8/22/16 — 8/26/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of August 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games Another week down and even more video games to have been discussed. We've gone past the tail end of Gamescom and are still recovering from that just before we move on to PAX again. More and more video games and less and less time. That is also if we want to ignore all of the new games coming like Mafia 3, BioShock: The Collection, and Final Fantasy XV. Read More...

Memories & Zombies Are Dug Up In Rise Of The Tomb Raider
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 25th of August 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Tomb Raider A trailer for the next Rise Of The Tomb Raider DLC has been revealed as well as many other additions coming to this Tomb Raider title to fuel the nightmares As we get closer to the release date for Rise Of The Tomb Raider on the PS4 we also need to remember that we are getting closer to the release of all that extra DLC for the game on the Xbox One and PC too. Of course Crystal Dynamics is only bringing the VR support to the PS4 version of one of the bits of DLC but until now we've only scene glimpses of it all. Sadly, it looks like Square Enix is having its time in the night with zombies as one of the bits of DLC we are getting will be bringing them to Tomb Raider for us to kill in a horde-like mode in the basement of Croft Manor. The classic survival/crafting game has been brought out for the current gen systems Here's our review of 7 Days To Die Almost three years ago we saw 7 Days To Die pop up for Early Access on Steam and people began to get excited for this new open world that The Fun Pimps Were crafting for us. Fast forward those three years and Telltale Publishing brought the game to life on the PS4 and Xbox One for even more players to enjoy. Now the game has been out for a little bit and we've had the chance to dive in and give 7 Days To Die a try to see if it is worth your time or just another title to fall off the map. Read More...

Ghost Recon Wildlands Ups The Immersion With Customization Options
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of August 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Ghost Recon Wildlands A new trailer for Ghost Recon Wildlands goes into a bit of detail on the level we'll be able to customize our Ghost Recon Wildlands characters in-game It should come as no real surprise here but hopefully it is well known that Ghost Recon Wildlands is aiming high for a level of immersion. It is something that we see in almost all of Ubisoft's titles and they bank on it for the sales and the extra DLC that can be put out there for a deeper immersion into their games. Like I said, Ghost Recon Wildlands is not going to be different at all and now we get to see just how customizable our Ghosts are going to be when we pick up the game on March 7th 2017 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of August 2016 - 09:00 PM ]

Here's our review on how they did It looks like we are heading toward the end of Minecraft: Story Mode's expansion season as now we have the seventh episode of the game out now. Telltale Games has been doing their best with the franchise and giving us an entertaining story based on the blocky world of Mojang. Tom Clancy's The Division Is Officially Getting A Film Now Too
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of August 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
The Division Rumors of The Division getting a full length feature film have been put to rest as The Division is now officially getting the film treatment for us all The rumors from last month look to have now been confirmed as we are now getting a feature film based on The Division. Just what everyone wanted out the MMO-like title that Ubisoft pumped out to us earlier this year…I think. In the end it looks like with the successful completion of their other film titles based on their game IPs, they wanted to make sure we all had more of The Division than just DLC and expansion that are already planned. At least that is how they have been approaching everything from Assassin's Creed to Watch Dogs lately. Read More...

Review — Minecraft: Story Mode — A Portal To Mystery
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 25th of July 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Minecraft We sit down and review Minecraft: Story Mode — A Portal To Mystery. This is the sixth episode of Telltale's take on Mojang's famed franchise. Here's our review on how they did The story continues for Minecraft: Story Mode as we have the first episode in the expanded adventure and the sixth episode in the epic tale of Jesse and his crew as they do what is apparently done in Mojang's world. If you are somehow still behind the times though this also expands on the story that Telltale Games has been building up for us over pretty much a year now. I'm still confused as to why they didn't go a solid second season and just have all of this is part of it but they didn't Now let us dig into this new episode of Minecraft: Story Mode before we get bogged down with even more of their great stories and such. All on October 11th just as the rumors stated. The Seventh Episode Of Minecraft: Story Mode Is Coming Into Control
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of July 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Minecraft The release date for Minecraft: Story Mode's seventh episode has been set and it looks like the world of Minecraft is getting the Tron and Borg treatment The seventh episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, or second in the adventure pass, has a release date set and it looks like it will be July 26th here. On this date we will get to see how much further down the rabbit hole Telltale Games is going to take us into their take on the famed Mojang IP that has a few hits and misses in my eyes. Especially the one where they didn't split this into a second season of Minecraft: Story Mode instead of just making it all an add-on. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of July 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Tomb Raider It looks like the wait for Rise Of The Tomb Raider to hit the PS4 may be over and out during Tomb Raider's 20th anniversary year It looks like the rumors and speculation of the day continue as now we may have a date for Rise Of The Tomb Raider to hit the PS4. Already Crystal Dynamics' latest addition into the title has hit the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC and it was stated as a timed exclusive before by Square Enix. All of that said and the fact that we are in the 20th anniversary of the Tomb Raider it looks like it should be time to see the game make the final leap and if rumors are true the leap will be made on October 11th of this year. All of this comes out of a few listings of Rise Of The Tomb Raider for the PS4 popping up via the usual online retailers out of France. Read More...

Review — Deadlight: Director's Cut
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of July 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Deadlight We sit down and review Deadlight: Director's Cut. It's another remaster for a game that didn't get much love before. Here's our review of Deadlight: Director's Cut It's only been a short four years and now we have Deadlight: Director's Cut landing on the PS4 and Xbox One after a nice stint on the 360 and PC. This would be Tequila Works' side-scrolling zombie adventure that aims to focus on story more than just exploding brains. It was decently received the first time around but now we have a more definitive edition of the game here now with all of the extra mixed in that the original Deadlight just didn't have. Read More...

E3 2016 Impressions — Skylanders Imaginators
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Skylanders While at E3 I was able to see Skylanders Imaginators in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Skylanders Imaginators Just as with every year since the franchise's start we have Skylanders Imaginators as the new addition to the franchise. We had the announcement that Toys For Bob is working on bringing us something new for the franchise and genre but at E3 Activision had a nice showing of the game from a bit of behind the scenes. We were allowed to see Skylanders Imaginators while out on the floor and also had a nice description of what will be coming to this franchise to make us shell out even more cash for the game and toys. All of which launching on October 16th for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U. Read More...

Minecraft: Story Mode 6th Episode Dated & A Murder Mystery
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Minecraft The release date for Minecraft: Story Mode sixth episode has been set and it seems like the Minecraft community is being drug into the game's murder mystery The first of the three add-on episodes for Minecraft: Story Mode has now been dated and it looks like June 7th is going to be the date that we all get to continue the story. I am still not completely sure why Telltale Games broke up the story and continuations as they did but it has been done and the spiritual second season, in my opinion, has begun. Get ready to dive deeper into Mojang's world as Minecraft: Story Mode episode six hits the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and mobile platforms. Read More...
