A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Games, games, and more games has been the huge theme for the last few weeks. Not just in news but in video game releases. Hells, this week we had yet another two reviews (Adventure Time: The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom and Escape Dead Island) and we have more to come. Just think what is going to happen here in a few weeks when we get all of the news out of the PlayStation Experience and The Game Awards. Only two weeks to go until we get all of that heaped into our eyes and thus our grey matter. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Adventure Time: The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom. Does It do the franchise justice or is it another cash in for the kids who love this stuff? None the less here is our review What time is it?! It's Adventure Time… well at least it's time for us to review Adventure Time: The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom. Of course this would be the latest installment for the franchise in video game form from WayForward Technologies and Little Orbit for the PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, 3DS, and PC. The first time I believe an Adventure Time title has been on these specific platforms and the 3DS but that's another issue. Read More...

Review: Spider-Man: Edge Of Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of October 2011 - 08:30 PM ]
Just in the nick of time, Spider-Man is back in another game for us to take on the many comic book villains who plague New York in Spider-Man: Edge Of Time. While not a direct sequel to last year's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, it does have at least two of the dimensions represented and makes reference to the "Other Guys" from the game. That said, does SM: EoT reach or beat the bar that was set last year? We'll let's see. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Eight: When Capitalism Meets Completion-ism
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 11:27 PM ]
Your regular length Aggrocast is back, even if not necessarily the guys are completely back on track as they continue to recover from Extra Life. David, Corey&Brian use the time for Whatcha Been Playing and Community Spotlight to share their Extra Life experiences and talk Dragon Age: Origins, Dark Souls and Spider Man: Edge of Time. Be sure to keep listening as Care / Don't Care gets a little lively as does our main topic, revolving around when does a game "end" for you. Where are you on this issue? Read More...

Here's What WonderCon Goers Got To See Of Spider-Man Edge Of Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 4th of April 2011 - 10:56 PM ]
If you missed the announcement of Spider-Man: Edge Of Time and/or couldn't catch all the goodness shown and spoken of at WonderCon, then are you in for a treat. Those of you who heard the announcement are also in for a treat as we have the first trailer and screens below. It really does have that Shattered Dimensions feel to it doesn't it? I guess it would be easy to just reuse a bunch of the stuff Beenox has already made and just change the story. No reason to remake everything that already worked right? Read More...

APB Finds A Buyer And Re-Launching In 2011
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 16th of November 2010 - 06:12 PM ]
Two months ago the company known as Realtime Worlds announced that the First-Person-Shooter-MMO All Points Bulletin was shutting down, and being laid to rest. Many people fought to get their money back, and EA was pretty cool about the whole thing. Not knowing if it would ever be revived, rumors started flying that companies around the globe were looking at buying APB and its fate was held in the balance. Well it looks like the California based GamersFirst and its subsidiary company Reloaded will resurrect APB early next year. The question stands, will it have a better launch than it did its first time around? Read More...

EA Giving APB Refunds?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 28th of September 2010 - 06:22 PM ]
Did you purchase APB? Were you mad that you spent $50 on a game with 50 hours of playtime and never had the chance to play the whole time (really?). Well you and the 130,000 (so they say) like you are all experiencing the heartache from the closing of this Action-MMO. Fear not my friends there is a glimmer of hope for a few of you out there. First off let's start off by saying, if you bought APB on Steam you will not be able to get a refund (from Steam). Steam explicitly notifies its players they do not offer refunds. Read More...

APB Servers Shut Down
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 22nd of September 2010 - 03:47 PM ]
Looks like you need more than a phenomenal character customization engine to survive in this gaming industry. All Points Bulletin servers have been shut down only three months after launch. Only a month ago Scottish game developer Real Time Worlds cut its staff down to 50 people (just enough to keep the servers running) and began looking for a possible buyer to take over APB. When no one showed up to take over the IP, it was time to let go. According to Real Time Games, APB had about 130,000 registered users with an average play time of four hours per week and averaging $28 per month. Read More...

Review: All Points Bulletin
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 4th of August 2010 - 06:00 PM ]
Being an MMO fan, and always having a strong interest in online games it was a nice gesture that I would get a chance to review Real Time Worlds' All Points Bulletin. APB is a unique game, since it attempts to stand out and make changes to an MMO formula by giving players a new design in the Action-MMO world. Sometimes change is not a good thing. So let's jump right into it. Read More...

How Tough Are The Streets In APB
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of May 2010 - 02:55 PM ]
From the look of things, they are extremely tough - even after the elected officials legalize vigilantism. That is music to our ears for what we are being promised for EA and Realtime Worlds' MMO APB. We want them to be rough and gruff. It is a action MMO version of Cops and Robbers after all. If you want to see for yourself how rough the streets are going to be, watch the trailer/opening cinematic for yourself. You'll get to see how no one really cares about graffiti in this town. Not to mention, you'll see a bit more of some in game action. Read More...

Review: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 01:59 PM ]
Ratchet and Clank has enjoyed a really good run these past 7 years, and A Crack in Time is a great cap to the "future" series. In what may be the final game in the series, Ratchet must rescue Clank from Dr. Nefarious (the villain from Up Your Arsenal, the third game in the series). Before we get in to deep, let's get a quick glance back at the Future trilogy thus far. In Tools of Destruction, an evil tyrant named Tachyon set out to revenge against the Lombax's for destroying his race. This is the first hint we get that Ratchet isn't the last Lombax in the galaxy. Calling All MMOs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 22nd of September 2009 - 02:14 PM ]
Finally some great video on what playing a game of APB is going to feel like. At least if you can find a group of people online that are ok with having a good time and not trying to compete against each other to shame one another. People that you can imagine in control in this video. Like say for instance, the person that tried to use a car to take out someone. Or the person who was walking, looked over, and said, "Oh Shit! A Car! Read More...

Review: Section 8
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 15th of September 2009 - 01:45 PM ]
At first glance, Section 8 looks like a Halo wannabe. At second glance it looks like a Tribes wannabe. At third glance it looks like a Battlefield wannabe. I'm not saying that a game that plays like those 3 games would be bad (heck, it'd probably be the best online shooter ever), but Section 8 seems to be lackluster in areas that each of those 3 game excelled in. The problem with that is while that Section 8 may be a solid game, the fact is that people are going to be playing the other 3 games that it is trying to emulate. Section 8 is a multiplayer only game, don't be fooled by the Corde's story campaign mode, it's basically a glorified bot mode with some random bits of story thrown about. Read More...
