Halo 2 Online Community Officially No More
by Brian Goodman [ Tuesday, 11th of May 2010 - 04:05 PM ]
Well, The Escapist has reported that the last player has been logged out of the final Halo 2 lobby on the Microsoft dedicated servers, officially ending the game's popular run since 2004. Despite Microsoft officially ending Live support for the original XBox on April 15th, a handful of dedicated Halo 2 fans refused to log off until the last one, with the handle Apache N4SIR was forcibly booted at 1:28 EDT this morning. Despite your feelings on the Halo franchise, it is pretty cool that even a game that is six years old is (well was) still supported by a committed fan base. Think about how many great games have come and gone out of our memories and minds in the last six years. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 10th of May 2010 - 10:56 PM ]
This past Friday we were able to join in on the conference call for Split/Second, the upcoming game from Disney and Blackrock Studios. Split/Second is releasing next week (5/18/2010) and we had the honor to have our questions answered by Nick Baynes, Game Director for Blackrock Studios. So why should you pick up this racer? Well give it a listen and you can judge for yourself on why you would want to pick up this racer. If for some odd reason you don't want to listen to over fifty-six minutes of the conference call than let me give you some of the key points for Split/Second. Read More...

Kane And Lynch Take A Look At Arcade Modes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of May 2010 - 10:39 PM ]
So have you been curious on how the multiplayer aspect of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is going to look? Or have you been curious on how it will actually be implemented through story or any other way? Well ponder not so much any more. We have a new look at the multiplayer for Kane and Lynch 2. One of which is a very fun descriptive, and audio non-safe for work, clip describing what is going on. While I am not a big fan of multiplayer in games, in fact I think it can ruin a game in some cases, the multiplayer for Kane and Lynch looks like an interesting twist. I mean, your allies and team mates can turn on you at any moment if I heard and saw that right in the clip here. Read More...

With the success of God of War III, Sony has just announced that our favorite Spartan will be making his return to the Sony PSP and PSPgo in God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Why are they making another God of War game you may ask? Probably going to kill more Greek Gods. For you non-hardcore Halo fans out there, you may not have known that the Halo: Reach beta is kicking off in the next week, May 3rd to be exact. Perhaps you did know because of the mighty inter-webs. Arkham Asylum 2 To Be 'Darker' In Tone
by Brian Goodman [ Wednesday, 21st of April 2010 - 04:11 PM ]
Thanks to 1up.com for reporting on a Chicago Comic-Con panel that long time Batman voice Kevin Conroy was speaking at. Conroy has reportedly said that Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 will be "really really dark" and that legendary, iconic villain, Two Face, will be making an appearance. I say awesome. I, like everyone else, loved everything about the first Batman: Arkham Asylum and I feel it speaks really well that an unknown newcomer like Rocksteady Games can rock our worlds with the first good Batman game ever (and a rare piece of quality licensed work). Its nice to see them not only expand deeper into the Batman universe, but also do so with the finely polished third person gameplay the market had not seen in a long while. Lets just hope as much effort goes into adding depth to the gameplay formula that made the first one so great. Read More...

Could We Be MMOing It In Rapture Soon?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 19th of April 2010 - 03:22 PM ]
This is still just a rumor and based of sources from Destructoid. I'm not one to post a bunch of rumors. I hate when they are good ones and then they end up being false or a joke started to get views. I really hate it. But this is a rumor that I think most of the fans of 2K Games would go ballistic over if it was made to be a joke or for publicity. It's also one that I am sure that any fan of BioShock would love to be true. If you could not deduce by now, the rumor is BioShock: The MMO. Read More...

It is no secret what Cliff Bleszinski and the rest of the crew over at Epic Games are working on with the pre-mature announcement over on XBL (way to go Microsoft to blow that news). Well it was time to showcase to the world, or the few that could actually stayed up to watch Jimmy Fallon, the new trailer for Gears of War 3. “When we released Gears of War more than five years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and a year from now, players will get the chance to experience the final chapter in the story of Marcus Fenix and his companions in Delta Squad,” said Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director of Epic Games. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier In Real Life
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of March 2010 - 01:40 PM ]
Looks like Ubisoft might be gearing up to go into feature films, or at least shorts sometime soon. First they do a live action short based on all the beginning story to Assassin's Creed II. Something that was produced very well and added quite a bit of extra content to the overall experience of the game. At least it did for me. But the Assassin's Creed short looks like it was just the tip of the iceberg for Ubisoft's short films. Read More...

PAX East: Cosplayers Came Out To Play
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 29th of March 2010 - 10:34 PM ]
Boston has their own anime convention called Anime Boston. You would think that even with just that convention the people in the Boston area would be satisfied dressing up as their favorite anime, cartoon, and video game characters. Well that was not the case here at PAX East. With all the video games demos, accessories, and many other items on the show floor, the Cosplayers came out and showed what they had in their closets. Some of which was pretty good. Like the Bayonetta twins (no they weren't actual twins), the guy in the Gear suit, and the Team Fortress 2 group. Read More...
