PAX East Hands-On: Wreckateer
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 9th of April 2012 - 10:28 PM ]
At PAX East I got to try out Microsoft's Kinect for the first time ever, and the first game I played on it was Wreckateer. Wreckateer is an XBLA game that revolves all around destroying castles (hey, who doesn't love wrecking stuff?) The plot behind destroying castles is that you are a part of a demolition crew who is hired by the king to destroy abandoned and unwanted castles that have been overrun by goblins. Stepping forward and putting your hands together loads up the catapult, as you step back the catapult draws back, the more you move backwards the more powerful the shot. You then spread your arms apart and the shot takes off. Read More...

Looks Like The Assassin's Creed III "Collector's Edition" Has Been Outed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of March 2012 - 10:24 PM ]
Well more the "collector's edition" and I'm guessing its not so expesive younger siblings as well. Looks like we will have a few choices to make when it comes to pre-ordering or out right buying when it comes to Assassin's Creed III. There are three different "editions" of the game for us to spend out hard earned money on. As usual there is a "Special Edition" that will most likely just be a fancy way of saying "here's a free upgrade for being a fan but not really because anyone can just buy it." Then there are the two others that have quite a bit of extra meat to them. Read More...

What's The Deal With Online Passes?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of March 2012 - 10:57 PM ]
Online Passes are apparently the new "Gaming Fad" even thought the majority of us gamers really dislike the over abundance of these online passes, especially when companies like EA are already starting to show some sketchy business models towards online passes. I'm going to be one-hundred percent honest: I fucking hate online passes and here are some reasons why: Online Passes are a new and "pricey" way to battle online piracy and used game sales, the latter being a joke in my opinion. A simple one use serial code that is required for access to certain online content such as Multiplayer and Co-op modes, or unlocks bonus content for a game. Although certain games such as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Batman: Arkham City require an online pass even though they are single player games and withhold on disc game content from the consumer if an online pass is not purchased. Let's Start Speculating On These New Assassin Creed III Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 05:58 AM ]
For a game all about staying stealthy it sure cannot keep its hidden news, well, hidden. A group of six new screen shots for Assassin's Creed III have made their way onto the internet and thus into the hands of everyone with some form of online connection. All I have to say is that these images most likely were meant to roll out with some new info of the game. So with that said, let's speculate on what these screen shots mean outside of showing how the new game engine is leaps and bounds over the past ones. So let's see. Read More...

Change In Video Games Is Good
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 19th of March 2012 - 11:11 PM ]
Fear is a feeling we have all experienced throughout our lives. It creeps up on us in the dark of night. It claws at our backs when the unknown approaches us. Fear is a very natural emotion in the realm of the real world but why is fear such an almighty powerful force within the realm of video games? Specifically why do we gamers cower in fear from change? Change is a natural force of life. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of March 2012 - 10:04 PM ]
Last week we saw a load of "leaked" information for Assassin's Creed III. In fact if you look below there are a few more screen shots that we didn't get up before the official announcement. Take a look and then move on to what Ubisoft wanted to be the official announcement. Now that is out of the way, let's move on. While not much more is given out about the game there is a nice new announcement trailer showing how the new engine is looking. Just to place it out there in layperson terms this whole trailer was made using the game engine and not pre-rendered scenes. Read More...

Is Assassin's Creed III Taking On The American Revolutionary War?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of March 2012 - 07:00 PM ]
While it was chalked up as a rumor as of yesterday, it looks like we can confirm that Assassin's Creed III will be taking place during the American Revolutionary War.  That is, if we are to rely on the recently released box art for the game and the "leaked" Best Buy promotional poster. You can see both below. Go ahead and look I won't judge you too much. Any further details about the game are still sketchy at this point, but this is something we can glean from the box art and poster. Read More...

New Borderlands 2 Trailer Brings The 'WubWub'
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 27th of February 2012 - 05:38 PM ]
The guys over at Gearbox Software have released a new trailer for their upcoming sequel to their smash hit Borderlands simply titled Borderlands 2. I loved playing Borderlands, the questlines; the stories and the loot were all hilariously amazing. Not to mention it has one of my favorite zombie stories ever, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC which is just how a zombie story should be. The new trailer features a lot of "Wub Wub" dubstep garbage, but it can be easily muted via the volume bar on your player. Read More...

Here's A Bit Of The Story Of The Last Of Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of February 2012 - 10:22 PM ]
So when The Last Of Us was first announced I had my reservations on the game. After hearing a bit more on the story of the game, characters and world they are still there. Albeit this all stems from the little tid-bits that were recently explained to Game Informer. You can see the dev interview below to get caught up to where I am in knowledge of the game. So plain and simple sounds more like a ridiculous "escort mission" style of story. While Joel does seem to have an interesting background, the overall theme here is keep Ellie alive and to some unknown location. Read More...
