Unless you were one of the 200 or so members of the press and industry invited to the Xbox One announcement event you have had to deal with seeing the new console in static images around the net. If by some weird chance you were busy during the huge online announcement, the new Xbox is named Xbox One. That of course isn't the only news around the new console of course. Along with the new name came the hardware specifications, a few "new" features, and a look at a few games… well kind of. Activision has confirmed that the rumored Call Of Duty: Ghosts will in fact be the next installment in the long running FPS franchise. Not many details on the game were revealed by Activision aside from a teaser trailer and a promise for a bigger reveal during the Xbox: The Next Generation Revealed Event on May 21st. Activision also announced that the game will be released on November 5th for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4 and the new Xbox. Last year I skipped it because I thought they were only showing off expansions for Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Earlier this month we had the official announcement of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag with not much to go on other than the time period of the story and the culture it is based around. During the reign of Blackbeard and pirates for those who are just now following along. No matter which you are, we now have a bit of game play from Black Flag and it looks like Ubisoft is trying to focus on the naval combat that debuted back in ACIII not so very long ago. It also looks like we will get to punch sharks in the gills during underwater scenes of the game, so there is also that. In a world full of Halos and Call of Dutys where players can be a one man army and carry their entire team to victory, how is it games like Army of Two, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, or even Battlefield manage to have such a large player base? The amount of people who group together isn't as large as it would seem. People, like me, don't have friends to play these games with because our friends either don't buy the game or trade it in shortly after it's released. I'll fully admit that when I first saw The Last Of Us back in December of 2011 I was impressed with the visuals but not really the setting or enemies. It has been made official; Assassin's Creed IV is coming just about a year after AC3 has landed. It was originally rumored with the below trailer teasing it last week, but since the cat was let out of the bag it looks like Ubisoft isn't keeping it hidden any more. The video is now to be considered the official announcement of AC4 along with the release date of November 1st 2013. That adds another title to the PS4's launch lineup it would seem. Square Enix had a big announcement today about everyone's favorite Final Fantasy/Disney crossover. Unfortunately, it wasn't the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts fans around the world collectively sigh in disappointment as they read about Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, set to release Fall of 2013. It is a compilation for the PlayStation 3 featuring Kingdom Hearts Final Mix; Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories; and story cut scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.
