Hey Look At That, The Xbox One Has A Release Date
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of September 2013 - 08:58 PM ]
Just as I pondered and hypothesized a little while back, looks like we are getting the Xbox One on November 22nd this year. Just in time to get the bulk of the day one consoles out the door and on eBay to prey on the parents of demanding kids during Black Friday sales. If memory serves this is what Nintendo and Sony did back in 2006. The only difference being that Sony flooded the market with PS3s right around the same time screwing a lot of those capitalists out of a big payoff. I knew quite a few people that fell plague to this and I was glad. Read More...

Shadow Of The Beast Looks Re-Imagined As Another God Of War
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of August 2013 - 09:45 PM ]
A little history lesson here. Back in the very late 80's and early 90's there was a game called Shadow Of The Beast that also spawned two sequels. Lesson over. Now in the coming year(s) here we are getting a "Re-Imagining" of the game exclusively on the PlayStation 4. That is really the all the information that has been announced so far outside of the following teaser trailer. Not even a developer and I think it is safe to assume that Sony will be publishing it, but who knows. So let's sit back and speculate based on what we get to see here. Read More...

New South Park: The Stick Of Truth Screenshots To Prove It's Not Dead
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of August 2013 - 03:43 PM ]
It was joked about back during SDCC, but do people really think that South Park: The Stick Of Truth is going to be dead in the water? I actually hear people still murmurs this, I'm not kidding, even though we have been shown concrete proof that it is still well in development and scheduled for release. I understand that missing the original launch date and losing the original publisher has a bit to do with this, but seriously?!? How could you be so dense? Read More...

Review: Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 22nd of August 2013 - 10:20 PM ]
Back in April, I wrote an article showcasing what I had seen of Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 during my interview at PAX East. I had been waiting for the game to be released so I could hop into it and get my first look at the new Magic The Gathering 2014 Core Set expansion since, as always, I knew that all MTG players will get their first look and get to play with the cards first in DOTP. I was also excited to see what the new game type would be, since the last two games introduced Archenemy and Planeschase. When the day Magic The Gathering: Duels of The Planeswalkers 2014 released, I immediately lost myself in the game. Read More...

Here's What We Will Be Playing Day One For The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of August 2013 - 06:55 PM ]
Just as Microsoft did yesterday, it looks like we have a pretty well rounded list of titles coming Day One-ish for the PS4 when it finally hits homes on November 15th. At first glance it looks like it is a bit longer, 10 more titles to be exact, but there are a few titles there that we've already had our hands on for a while now. Granted, it would be nice to have them all be original titles, but that is just the dream. By no means does this mean that I am not excited for the launch of the new console, but the numbers do seem a bit padded in regards to what will be available from launch. Read More...

Here's What We Will Be Playing Day One For The Xbox One
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of August 2013 - 08:17 PM ]
Since it seems that Microsoft is still fine tuning all of the "features" and "requirements" around the Xbox One, why don't we focus on what seems a bit more concrete right now? I'm talking about the launch line-up that they just released into the wild during Gamescom. Below you can see the full list of titles ranging through almost every genre that we gamers could want. Even though I am personally not happy with how some of the titles are being handled, looking at you Killer Instinct, it looks pretty damn strong. Also a fun little thing to ponder over, if these are all supposed to be Day One titles, doesn't it kind of point the finger at late November launch for the console? Read More...

Call of Duty: Ghosts - Multiplayer Livestream
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of August 2013 - 05:00 PM ]
In case you haven't heard yet there is going to be a multiplayer mode in the upcoming Call Of Duty: Ghosts. I know right? I was shocked to find out about it. I just hope that it isn't some kind of tacked on last minute thing. I hate when that…oh wait… This just in, the multiplayer addition is nothing new to the franchise nor "tacked on." Well don't I have egg on my face…? Levity aside now. Read More...

SDCC 2013: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 11:08 PM ]
Didn't make it to San Diego Comic Con or the South Park: The Stick Of Truth panel? Well we got you covered. Or at least an amazing individual on the internet has you covered in the video aspect and I have you covered in the details as I was there taking notes for you. It should be no surprise that there isn't much in the way of new information since E3, but a few choice questions from fans and during the panel revealed a few tidbits. One of the best things I have heard in a while has to be that there are no plans to force DLC down our throats even though there were some major cuts from the 850+ page script of the game. Both Trey and Matt expressed a hatred for the term and that it was suggested when they had to start culling down the content. Read More...

The Massive Open World Of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 25th of July 2013 - 08:40 PM ]
All of the details leading up to now surrounding Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag have been pretty spectacular. Some of it has just been written details or descriptions from all of us bloggers out there. Luckily that is no longer going to be the case as we have a full view of the open world and special features in ACIV. Just in case you want to still go into the game blind, I'll give you a bit of the run down in text form. The big thing is the "openness" of the game's world. Read More...

Splinter Cell Blacklist Goes Back To Its Roots
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 12th of July 2013 - 04:59 PM ]
Many old school fans of Ubisoft's Splinter Cell series were disappointed with Conviction's heavier focus on action. Ubisoft realized this and added a new difficulty mode to Blacklist called Perfectionist Mode. Intended for Splinter Cell purists this mode removes your mark/execute ability and takes away your ability to see through walls with Sam's sonar goggles. This mode increases enemy difficulty in both stealth and combat as well as does not allow players to restock ammo at supply caches. This mode is really unique because it brings the series back to the original three games in the franchise where the only thing that you have to rely on is your night vision goggles and the shadows. PS4 Vs. Xbox One UPDATE
by Greg Tatterfield [ Wednesday, 19th of June 2013 - 11:51 PM ]
Microsoft has just released an update for the Xbox One on their official site. After the fan outcry about Microsoft’s aggressive DRM policies it seems like they have turned over a new leaf. To update my previous article PS4 Vs. Xbox One, here is what is changing with the Xbox One. Always on line no more Microsoft has confirmed that you will not be required to be online to play single player games. After you complete a onetime set up after the un-boxing you will never have to connect with the Xbox servers again just as with the Xbox 360. There is no 24-hour check in required to play your games. E3 2013 Impressions: Call Of Duty: Ghosts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of June 2013 - 07:28 PM ]
Keeping to their word, Activision and Infinity Ward showed the world most of what they had for E3 during their Call Of Duty: Ghosts All Access event the Sunday before the show began proper. Almost to the point where it was almost pointless for anyone who is an online blogger/journalist to even cover on the show floor. Mind you, I did say almost. Besides having maybe a minute or so more of the game play shown during the event there were only a few things shown that highlighted the new engine that Call Of Duty: Ghosts will be running on. With the dust settling from E3 and the promise of new systems on the horizon there is plenty to look forward to in the world of gaming. Now that the console war has escalated at E3, it's time to look at all the specific details and the answers to everyone’s questions concerning used games and online connectivity. Consider this article as a “what console is right for me” reference. Does it have to be always online? Read More...

E3 2013 Impression: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of June 2013 - 11:35 PM ]
With the fall of the mighty THQ and the purchasing of South Park: The Stick Of Truth by Ubisoft, all of us have been questioning what may or may not change in the final product. Especially since Ubisoft has it's hearts with the French and the Canadians and the minds behind South Park love to tear them apart. With questions like that and a huge interest in the game, I took a seat and watched what Obsidian had to show us at E3 after the great publisher swap. Granted, some of these might not be additions or substitutions due to the swap, but it was all shown during the demo I was graced with. Read More...
