Max Payne 3 details
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 16th of June 2009 - 02:22 AM ]
Wow, the dark brooding hero has put on a few pounds since last we saw him! Max Payne, who is now bald and sporting a pretty fierce beard, is back and in full force and gracing the cover of Game Informer.  Not only that, the guy is addicted to pain killers. Who didn't see that one coming? Max Payne 3 takes place in Sao Paolo, Brazil, with "fully destructible environments". Which means more stuff to shoot at and blow up.  Players will also experience "day and night cycles". Read More...

E3 Hands-On Impressions: Torchlight
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 10th of June 2009 - 03:39 PM ]
Squirreled away in the back of the Los Angeles Convention Center’s West Hall during E3, Perfect World Entertainment showed off Runic Games’ Torchlight along with their other Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games.  Only minutes after putting my hands on this little dungeon crawler had I decided this game had no business being in the back any longer.  Torchlight by Runic Games is set as a Diablo-esque dungeon-crawling Action RPG, which is actually a good thing since the people behind it are some of the same people behind Diablo and Fate.  The story is that near the small mining town of Torchlight, a rich vein of ore has been found called Ember. E3 Hands On Impressions of Section 8
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 04:36 AM ]
One of my surprises of the show was the game Section 8, coming from SouthPeak Games this fall. I was able to get a demo of this with the lead producer of the game. Section 8 is a futuristic sci-fi shooter with similar gameplay to that of Tribes and Battlefield 2. You have large map areas with 32 total players, two teams of 16 each. Each map has various objectives and areas your team must capture or complete to gain points for your side.As you spawn or respawn, you locate an area on the map that is a safe drop zone. Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 27th of May 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
Today it was announced that 38 Studios acquired Big Huge Games.  38 Studios is the studio that was started by now-retired professional baseball player Curt Schilling who is also an admitted World of Warcraft addict.  Founding 38 Studios to create an “Online Entertainment Experience,” Schilling and his team have been working on this new fantasy MMOG, currently entitled Copernicus, since 2006. I know at this point you’re rolling your eyes at another fantasy MMORPG, and frankly, I don’t blame you.  Instead let’s look at how Schilling, a World Series Champion and fairly well-known and popular person in the US, bought into the industry to bring a quality product for the masses to enjoy. EPISODE 27: Michael, Brian and Binh are back with the brand new Aggrocast Hello faithful readers and listeners. As many may know, when we launched Aggrogamer.com, we brought the Pwned.com Podcast, Total Meltdown, over with us. We changed the name of it to the more suitable title of Aggrocast. We retain the same cast of Michael (G-Nitro), Brian (Quiglin), and Binh (Church). We also kept the same format but moved around a bit to settle in properly with the site, and we also made sure the same craziness, humor and entertainment is still there. With that, we hope you enjoy the new Aggrocast, as we really enjoyed being back on the podcast scene after a few weeks off. Read More...

Harvest Or Adopt?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of April 2009 - 04:49 PM ]
More Screens For Bioshock 2 To be honest, I wish there was more to talk about when it comes to this upcoming sequel for Bioshock. I really do, but they are keeping things a little close to the chest. Including showing a fake level that won't make it into the game just to show off the visuals of the game. But you know what, does it matter? We have new views of this game. Read More...

French Please?
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 4th of April 2009 - 10:43 AM ]
So how would you like to play a game that speaks only French? Imagine seeing “Qu’est-ce que tu fais ici, vous stupid idiot!” (What the hell are you doing here you stupid idiot, and you thought reading this you wouldn’t learn anything) Well in Quebec you can. You heard that right, according to the Toronto Star, as of April 1st (and no this is not April fool joke…) Quebec passed a law to prohibit sales of new English-only video in Quebec if a French version is available. Because of this law retailers and gamers will have to wait for new releases to come to Quebec due to developers having to spend extra time to make the games French only. “I’m afraid it’s going to cost me my business” said Ronnie Rondeau, co-owner of Game Buzz around Montreal, “If it really was going to make a difference, I’d be for it, but only a small number of people want to play in French. Ratchet and Clank Return to PS3
by Jesse [ Thursday, 26th of March 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
“The Quest Continues in Fall 2009…” This was the phrase that teased a coming sequel following the end of Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. Today we know exactly what those words mean. Okay so maybe we don’t know exactly, but at least there’s a title. Insomniac Games unveiled the logo for their upcoming R&C title Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Though there aren’t any details at this time, I’d say it’s safe to assume we’ll see A Crack in Time tie in with the previous two R&C games. One interesting point though is that the title logo looks to be cut from a larger image. Read More...
