Wii Are Old And Fit
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of September 2008 - 04:14 PM ]
Video Gamers Surprisingly Fit and Older Yes, the title was a bit misleading, but it was what I could think up for this article. Deal with it. :) But that doesn't make this latest study any less interesting for the world of gaming, especially for online gaming. Since this is where most of the test data came from. This study was pulled out of about 7000 people on EverQuest servers. At least partly. Read More...

Rack One Up For Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 25th of September 2008 - 05:03 PM ]
Jack Thompson Disbarred That's right, one of the main thorns in the side of the video game community/industry has just been permanently disbarred as well as having to pay hefty fine by the Supreme Court of Florida. All of this for inappropriate conduct when filing his flagrant charges against Game, TV, and Music companies for their "Questionable" material in their formats. Some of these of course being against South Park and Grand Theft Auto. Now, granted, he has 30 days to appeal this disbarment and such, but he still has the sanction of that he cannot submit this to the court himself. Read More...

Well today they elaborate further on where and what you get when you pre-order. At least with two locations. First location is Amazon. Read More...

VIDEO GAMES LIVE ALBUM DEBUTS AT #10 ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS! So I was going to write another review on the Comic Con Video Games Live show, but I saw this and thought this was a better way to say how cool it was. I will point out that it is a different show depending on where you see it, the show in San Diego had fireworks and a different game they played on stage. Not to mention the Cos-Play of the people adding to the whole thing. Pics are below. Read More...

Something For The Cranky Dwarf In All Of Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of July 2008 - 07:55 PM ]
American McGee's Grimm: A Boy Learns What Fear Is I know I like free stuff. I also like vidja games. What could be better than Free Vidja Games? Right? Well I guess ones about a twisted version of the fairy tales we all grew to love. Even though the originals were twisted in the first place, but I digest... It would seem that today marks the first release of the new American McGee game, Grimm. You may know his work for twisting up Alice in Wonderland a few years back. Read More...

Microsoft Opening XBL For Users To Create Own Games
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 22nd of July 2008 - 10:46 PM ]
Think you have what it takes to build your own game for Xbox Live, and can do better than what is out there now?  Well now you can, as Microsoft has announced that XNA Game Studio software will be made available to gamers who yearn to create their own video games.  Micorsoft already had a trial run of the XNA Creators Club games earlier this year which featured "Little Gamers", "Culture", "Jellycar", "The Dishwasher" and others.  MS has plans to introduce the XBox Live Community Games this holiday season to XBL Marketplace. Microsoft unveiled in their plan that you will be able to have your games added to the XBL Marketplace, for a price of 200 to 800 points, after passing a peer review, as well as take home a cut of the total revenue the game makes, which MS claims to be up to 70% in a form of a quarterly check. Simon And Alucard Get It On...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 27th of June 2008 - 04:41 PM ]
Nintendo Power Reveals Castlevania Judgment For Wii... A 3d Fighter?! So like most people, I was excited to here there was going to be a new Castlevania game. I loved the franchise. But now I'm not sure about this new one. Seeing as it is going to be a fighting game and not the side-scrolling adventure game. Completely different than what I was hoping for. I'm sure it is not something most of you were hoping for. Read More...

The Greatest Show On Earth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of June 2008 - 07:59 PM ]
Video Games Live Ok, so first let me say, if you haven't heard of this show or had no interest in going, I would say look into it or re-think it. It may not sound all that awesome when you first hear about it, but it was probably one of the best shows I have seen in quite some time. Worth braving the heat and a little bit of sun here in Vegas to go see it as well. If that gives you any inkling on how good it is. Here, let me give you a quick overview of what myself and a few other members here got to go through with this event. Read More...

Relationship between violent videogames and real-life aggression
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Wednesday, 21st of May 2008 - 05:15 AM ]
A new study seems to show that there is no relationship between violent videogames and real-life aggression. From ScienceDaily: Writing May 14 in the International Journal of Liability and Scientific Enquiry, Patrick Kierkegaard of the University of Essex, England, suggests that there is scant scientific evidence that video games are anything but harmless and that they do not lead to real world aggression. Moreover, his research shows that previous work is biased towards the opposite conclusion. Read More...

Crafting Beautiful Stars
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of May 2008 - 08:05 PM ]
More Star Craft 2 News K, well not really news per say, but at least it is more video on how it is looking and shaping up. If they keep going on the rout it looks, my faith in Blizzard since the Activition buy out will be restored. The video of the game looks absolutely amazing and this is just a bunch of place holders for the Zerg and such. The intro where the human is armoring up looks almost to die for as well. One thing I liked to here is that it is going well and that they are keeping things that worked well in the past. Read More...

Portal Is Still Alive...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2008 - 04:28 PM ]
More Maps For Portal This was a triumph... I'm making a note here... HUGE SUCCESS! Ok enough of that. But you really can't deny the fact that the game was a huge thing. It spawned all kinds of other media based off of just this little mod to Half Life. And it just keeps coming out. This time in more maps based from the 2D Flash version of the game. This is a 40 map pack and features a new "test subject" for these said levels. Yes you read it. Read More...
