Review: The Walking Dead Season 2 - All That Remains
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of January 2014 - 06:38 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review The Walking Dead Season 2 - All That Remains. It's The First Episode But Does It Keep The Steamroller Of A Franchise Rolling? I've finally had time to digest the events of the first episode of the second season of The Walking Dead from Telltale. It's been over a year coming and we now get to see what happens to the adorable little Clementine and the survivors of the previous season even though those numbers were running pretty low at the end. So let's jump in and see if the wait was worth it. If there seems to be description missing that is due to trying to keep this as spoiler free as possible. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of December 2013 - 07:02 PM ]
The Walking Dead Season 2 Is Finally Launching And Launching Today For Most. Let's See What Telltale Has For Us. If there was one game that captures so many over the last two years it has been The Walking Dead from Telltale. Hard to believe it has been that long since we were first introduced to Clementine and Lee isn't it? It has been though and now we are moving into the second season of the The Walking Dead franchise and for most of us gamers out there that day is today. Don't get too worried by me saying for most of us and not all just yet though. Read More...

Clementine Looks All Grown Up For The Walking Dead Season 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of October 2013 - 10:21 PM ]
The Walking Dead Season 2 Gets Its First Trailer We've all probably played through Telltale's The Walking Dead at least three times now. That is the minimum I have heard from most of my associates any ways. One of the burning questions since the story came to its conclusion has been 'when is season 2 coming out?' Well, we still don't know but it has to be close now as we finally got something out of Telltale. It's a teaser more than anything, but if you glance below you can see the official reveal trailer for The Walking Dead's second season. Read More...

Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 04:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. The DLC For This Article Will Be Released Soon.
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 22nd of January 2013 - 07:07 PM ]
I love it when I turn on a game I've already played and beaten and find that there is brand new stuff to do thanks to new content being added. But, in a world dominated by the internet is it really such a good thing now? I feel that games now-a-days are sometimes left incomplete in order to reach deadlines, and the finishing touches are just brought out at a later date in the form of patches or add-ons. In the past; unless you were on a PC; an incomplete game was rare on consoles before they could access the internet. And unless the game was incredibly good, people wouldn't go out to buy the next installments. Read More...

Review: Wreck-It Ralph
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of October 2012 - 10:41 PM ]
For the last few months we've all been bombarded with ads and trailers for Disney's upcoming Wreck-It Ralph. A film that looks like it will do to video games what Toy Story did to toys. But how well is the question? Well sit back and enjoy our review of Wreck-It Ralph. The Story: 'Wreck-It' Ralph is the villain of a 'retro' game in an arcade who is pretty much crapped on for being the villain. He hates it. Who wouldn't? Read More...

Fun Facts With The ESA
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 23rd of August 2012 - 09:33 PM ]
So in my travels of the internet I found this cool little report by the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) that has a bunch of really cool facts about video games and those of us who play them. So here are some bullet points for the 2012 report: The average U.S. household owns at least one dedicated game console, PC or Smartphone. 49% of U.S households own a dedicated game console, and those that do, own an average of two. Aggrocast Episode One Hundred Two: Looking Forward to Fall
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 17th of August 2012 - 06:27 PM ]
You are shocked. Brian, Corey and Matt return to the Aggrocast after only one week. Topic for this episode is looking forward to the fall release lineup. Yes, the guys promised to do it quarterly, but why not just have one good blowout episode with our excitement abounding for games like Assassins Creed III, Far-Cry 3, Torchlight II and Halo 4. The guys also spend a few not-so-quiet minutes revisiting last week's debate on Facebook games. While you're listening, don't miss out on Whatcha Been Playing, the Community Spotlight and another 5-question Care / Don't Care. Read More...

Play The Walking Dead For Real At Comic Con
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 08:37 PM ]
So by now you've most likely played Telltale's The Walking Dead, read the comic or seen the show. If anything you at least are interested in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Well here is something that those interested in any of those things mention will find pretty damn awesome. If you are at San Diego Comic Con next week you will have the chance to actually play "the game" for real. The game being that of surviving in a world where the dead have escaped the Underworld and are coming for your flesh. This isn't some small obstacle course set up as fun for promotions either. My Top 20 Favorite Video Game Tracks Of All Time
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of June 2012 - 06:53 PM ]
Since we do a lot of standard news and reviews on Aggrogamer I think it's time we get a little personal. I am a huge fan of music. I love listening to it and I most certainly enjoy creating it. So here are my top 20 all time favorite themes from a video game. Enjoy. Note: the first 15 are in no specific order but the top 5 are in order of epicness. Spider-Man&Venom: Maximum Carnage - "Carnage Rules" An epic opening to one of the best Spider Man games of all time Serious Sam: The First Encounter - "Fight 5" When this song pops during an epic fire fight in Serious Sam, your adrenaline surges through your veins as you enter "The Zone" Mirror's Edge - "Kate (Puzzle)" I loved Mirror's Edge and this song was so soothing and relaxing. I still listen to it a lot. Read More...

The State of Gaming: Publishers
by Fred Buell [ Wednesday, 30th of May 2012 - 10:18 PM ]
You all may have noticed lately the onslaught of things like Online Passes, On-Disc DLC, and DLC that have been announced and made before release. Many of you may be under the impression the publisher/developers are just being greedy and trying to squeeze out every penny from you. What you don’t know is the inner-workings behind the scenes. The publishers are losing money this gen due to higher cost of development, and lower economies. They also have long standing arrangements with stores like GameStop where if a game flops they will buy back the product at full price or eat the cost and make zero money back if the store decides to price cut it down to move inventory. Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 26th of April 2012 - 10:02 PM ]
Developed and Published by Telltale Games this episodic game takes place within The Walking Dead universe. While some characters share the names of those in the comic and TV show, it is a whole new story. The Walking Dead is a point and click game with "precision" quick-time events. Instead of simply hitting a button you have to aim in a specific spot and then hit a button. I sat down to play The Walking Dead expecting a quick little hour or so session but I soon found myself sucked in to the characters and their story. I actually finished the game in one session. Finally Some Game Play For The Walking Dead Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 06:29 PM ]
We recently were given a look at The Walking Dead's game play via Telltale's debut trailer but it wasn't much more than a few seconds. A few seconds of very little compared to what the latest episode of Playing Dead has to show us. While the episode is about 15 minutes long, if you jump to the 7 minute mark you will get a glimpse at about 3 minutes of the game. Spoiler, it looks like it handles just as one would expect from Telltale. Take a watch. Read More...
