by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of January 2009 - 05:12 PM ]
PROTOTYPE #1 (OF 6) So a little while back, I hooked you up with some awesome pics and video of Activision's Prototype. One their new IPs out on multi-platforms. Well it looks like they are going to try to take a page from what, in my opinion, made Dead Space that much more awesome. Releasing it to multiple other forms of media to build up some momentum. As of right now, posted on DCComics.com, they are showing a 6 part comic line for this new game. Read More...

The First Black Video Game Character
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 20th of January 2009 - 02:53 PM ]
So over at Vintage Computing and Gaming they discuss, what could possibly be, the first video game character of color."Tomorrow, the United States will inaugurate its first black president, Barack Obama. In honor of this watershed moment in American history, I thought we should pay tribute to another African-American trailblazer: the first black video game character. After exhaustive research, I believe I’ve found him.Thirty years ago (1979), the first obviously black video game character appeared in Basketball, programmed by Alan Miller for the Atari 800 home computer. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of January 2009 - 10:29 PM ]
Online gamers in China must soon register with real names Before you think that we have it bad when it comes to privacy, take a look at things like this and think longer. It looks like the Chinese government is going to force gamers in the area to register with their real names. Not bad. But they must also provide their government issued code, think social security number for those in the states. All of this just to prove who you are and so you can play. Now here is the good question, why are they doing this? Read More...

What Lies Beyond The Edge Of Evolution?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of January 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
New Information For Activision's Prototype I'm sure you've heard of Activision's new game Prototype. Right? Well if not, then do I have a treat for you. And it is a very tasty one at that too. Full of Blood, Violence, Infections, and well what looks like a ton of fun. I do mean A LOT of fun. More of that below, but let me give you a quick recap of this game and what I was able to scrounge up at the THX booth at CES 2009. There is a plethora of fun screen shots and video clips that I got for your viewing pleasure, but there is a bit more that you won't be able to take away from just those. Like for instance, why the hell was the only way to catch any of this at CES was to get into the THX booth? Read More...

The Real World Of Gaming
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of January 2009 - 05:55 PM ]
WCG's The Ultimate Gamer You may have heard of this, but you also may not have. What is it, well like the header alludes to, it is a new reality TV show on Sci Fi showing who is the ultimate gamer out of a selection of 12 professional, and extremely good gamers. Yes, I know it sounds odd at first, but let me explain, or at least watch the trailer below, or check out their site. See, not only do they take real gamers, people you might have actually played against at some point, but they also test them to see if they can do these virtual skills in the real world as well. Not to mention if they can handle the gaming side under different and unusual circumstances. Read More...

They are in...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of January 2009 - 05:04 PM ]
Kijuju... Once again, we are hit with a new piece of the Resident Evil 5 marketing. All with another bizarre press release, shown below, to get more out there and drive up excitement for this game. Which works for me. Even though it is very weird to open up my email to just get things like this. I'm surprised it has yet to be pushed onto my spam folder. Kijuju... They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju…They are in Kijuju… Weird right? Fitness & Video-Games
by Amanda [ Thursday, 15th of January 2009 - 07:14 AM ]
Let’s face it, it seems like America’s in a panic to lose weight as it infamously maintains it’s title as THEE most detrimental nation in existence; Late night infomercials, hip-hob abs, Power 90, Flirty Girl Fitness, counting calories on Big Mac boxes?! Us gamers are hardly left out in this day and age, especially with video-games becoming more and more interactive; Just ask our beloved Konami, the makers of le cult classic Dance Dance Revolution.  Wait, “D00D YOU DANCE?!” That’s probably top-secret information the majority of guys most likely don’t want to share at a frat party; your friends may assume fetal position, spewing ‘Gamer Fuel’ ( does anyone actually drink that stuff? An American Early Evil
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of January 2009 - 06:13 PM ]
Resident Evil 5 Demo Premiers Exclusively on Xbox 360 Starting January 26 Who says that Capcom doesn't care about us Americans? They do. They just have a specific time frame for giving us slathering fans of Resident Evil what we want. This time in two stages. Granted anyone who has a web connection or knows how to download things outside of the US region have already had their hands on these, but you will be able to get them though XBox Live without having to work around language issues. On the 16th, that's in 2 days from now, Live users can download the game trailer shown at the Tokyo Game show last year, 2008. It has been around the net for a bit, but there is something about watching videos on a nice large TV over a little youtube window. Read More...

Choose Your Protoss
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of January 2009 - 11:28 PM ]
Dark Templar Vote So it looks like Blizzard wants to know what the players of their Star Craft Franchise want as a character in their new IP, Star Craft II. It seems that they want the actual community to choose their favorite since the game is for them and it should be tailored toward them. Not a bad idea from my stand point. But as of right now you can go onto the below link and vote which character you want to have in the new game, when it finally comes out. Your choices are: Lenassa Tribe:This unit carries a single warp blade, and a cloth shroud covers its face. Read More...

Home Is Complex
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of January 2009 - 06:35 PM ]
Home Details From CES 2009 Those of you who are not all that thrilled with Home as of yet, I have some good news. Lets just hope it stays that way. One of the things I had to ask the Sony and in turn the Home people was about the content of Home. They didn't want to comment much on the failed release time frames, but that's ok. What they did have to show as well as inform me on. First, the long awaited Helghast skin for your Home toon to wear. Read More...
