Another week means new downloadable releases on Wii and DSi. This ultimately indicates another first party cash-in for Nintendo. A rumor I had heard and spoke out about on Total Meltdown, Episode 26, that Nintendo would use their first party mascots/characters to sell little applications on the DSi has come to fruition.A pair of applications are new to the DSi Ware shop. New Beatles Rock Band Controllers With pre-orders starting to fly in for this new Rock Band game, The Beatles, the people over at Harmonix and MTV have decided to hook those pre-order people with a few little extras for shelling out a few bucks before the game comes out. Well hook them up somewhat. By giving them a site they can go to where they can place in a code given when pre-order. Feel Game Trailer A while back there was some buzz about a game based on the horror film The Grudge. It was quite a while back, and it was mainly the people that brought the film to you were working on a game, but the internet buzz twisted it one way and went with it. 4Chan Eroge Title Katawa Shoujo Releases Demo

A group of 4Chan /a/ regulars have decided to step away from posting memes and get into Eroge/Hentai game creation. It began in 2007 when an anonymous posting of Doujin work by Raita focusing on character designs for a dating sim revolving around Crippled characters. The lightbulb went off and the small group banded together to bring that idea to reality. Once a dedicated team was fully assembled, they created Four Leaf Studios and began their work.Here is the official description of the game: Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Ever thought about changing your name? I have. Ever thought about changing your name to your favorite video game character? No I haven’t? Well a 6 year old Norwegian boy did, and here is what happened. This is according to a Norwegian newspaper and dagbladet.no. Last year Christer wrote a letter to the King asking for his name to be changed to Sonic X. That’s right he wanted his name to be Sonic X, do not know why but he did. His parents did not want to send out the letter but once Christer asked why the King hasn’t replied to his request to change his name. Read More...

Digging through the code, seems its a website for Valve. There have been users all over the net deciphering this since early this morning. Seems that when you mouse over the circle there is some Hex code, also in the source code is a website http://babel-research.eu/ which has some very interesting Black Mesa, Aperture Science, and the Hanso Foundation Logos. Banjo Tooie Coming to XBLA Next Week

Finally we get the word on the release date for Banjo Tooie on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The bear and birds second adventure will be out next week on Wednesday the 29th for probably the same amount as the original Banjo Kazooie, 1200 Microsoft Points ($15)The game will allow you to swop any of the hidden eggs you found in Banjo Kazooie at Heggy's Hen for brand new moves that were not on the original N64 version. Here's a little video that came out a couple days before Easter that shows you a preview of the stop n swop and where to find any of the eggs in case you missed them. Left4Dead DLC Release Day

Today Valve released downloadable content on both the PC and the Xbox 360. Called the Survival Pack, the DLC provides new campaign maps for the Versus Mode and an entirely new gameplay option, Survival Mode. Also included are various patches and fixes to improve the overall gameplay by covering up the glitches and bugs found in the game post-release. In Versus Mode, teams of players take turns being the survivors trying to escape and the special infected bent on stopping them. The addition of new campaigns has been widely sought by the community at large. Read More...

In a dispute which has been raging on for the past couple of days, Activision Blizzard Inc. was ordered by a California court to turn over it's game code and custom turntables for it's new DJ game "DJ hero" back to Genius Studios. Genius Studios was working on a game known only as Scratch: the Ultimate DJ, and was working with California 7 studios to finish the product. Wii and DSi DLC for the Week of 4/13

Sorry it’s been a couple of weeks, folks, but once again, I’m bringing Nintendo’s weekly DLC into the spotlight. This week, the big N drops two titles into the DSi Shop, one into Wii Ware and one into the Virtual Console. Everyone has good weeks and bad weeks and Nintendo is different with this week’s lineup. The “Telephone” clone is impressive in that the title can support up to 21 people online, but 500 points seems a bit pricey for a slightly improved version of Picto-chat.
