Review: Prototype 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of May 2012 - 08:52 PM ]
It's been a long wait but Prototype 2 has finally landed to the enjoyment of all of us fans from the first game. It's not every game where you get to power bomb someone from atop some of the tallest buildings in the country but this is totally one of them. It has been three years in the works and there have been other titles out like it since, so does Prototype 2 hold up to the franchise's already well set bar. Let's find out. Story It's been fourteen months since the events of Prototype. Read More...

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Officially Announced Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of May 2012 - 04:45 PM ]
When are publishers and studios going to realize that they cannot trust humans with sensitive information? Call Of Duty: Black Ops II was technically announced before the company made the announcement or gave us the announcement trailer. Retailers who got information early let things slip. Game sites that received information in terms to prep the news let things "leak." I swear if Treyarch and Activision ran things like the governments they make games for we'd be seeing quite a few unmarked graves around the globe. But I digress. Read More...

How Will You Murder Humans In Hitman: Absolution?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of May 2012 - 11:23 PM ]
Kind of an odd question to be asked huh but it is pretty much the question posed to you in the most recent trailer for Hitman: Absolution that showcases the star of the franchise, Agent 47. Outside of that it also shows off a bit of game play as well as the different ways you can control the original assassin through the game. It is also full of a lot of blood and violence so send the youngin's out of the room before watching it. If you are waiting to actually watch the clip and still reading, let me break it down a bit. Starhawk Kind Of Reminding Me Of Firefly
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of May 2012 - 09:33 PM ]
If you look below you will be able to see the new trailer for Starhawk's story. Needless to say it makes the game look amazing and has piqued my interest in the game a bit more than ever before. Although there is one thing that I can't seem to get past and that is the feel of the Firefly universe here. Take a gander at the trailer here and continue below to read more of my thoughts. Now after watching that, doesn't that give you the "Wild West" look and feel just with a bit of high tech and space? Read More...

Review: Sniper Elite V2
by Fred Buell [ Tuesday, 1st of May 2012 - 06:15 PM ]
Rebellion Developments just gave us a "reboot" or "remake" of the 2005 shooter of the same name, Sniper Elite: V2 which takes place in the same time frame. This time rather than infiltrating the Nazi Army in disguise, you are a lone sniper against both the German and Russian WW2 militaries. Referencing the real life "Operation Paper," you must sneak behind lines and kill, or rescue, German scientists from creating and launching deadly V2 rockets. The game plays very smoothly; only on few occasions, and probably at my provoking the system, did I experience any spots of being stuck or absurd clipping. Sniper Elite plays as you would hope and expect any 3rd person shooter to play. Read More...

Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 26th of April 2012 - 10:02 PM ]
Developed and Published by Telltale Games this episodic game takes place within The Walking Dead universe. While some characters share the names of those in the comic and TV show, it is a whole new story. The Walking Dead is a point and click game with "precision" quick-time events. Instead of simply hitting a button you have to aim in a specific spot and then hit a button. I sat down to play The Walking Dead expecting a quick little hour or so session but I soon found myself sucked in to the characters and their story. I actually finished the game in one session. Here Is What Sorcery's Story Is About
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of April 2012 - 10:02 PM ]
I know we've shown quite a bit of Sorcery on here but there has never been any real substance as to what the story of the game is all about. We've covered the early visuals, the early controls and the early basics of the game but we have yet to actually go over the story of the game. You know that one thing that a lot of you gamers out there glance over just to jump in and enact your twisted fantasies. Good news for those out there that were hoping to get some story to go along with all the above. The basics of the story have just been loosed on the internet for us to get some kind of idea. Resident Evil 6's Release Date Pushed Forward
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of April 2012 - 04:38 PM ]
It's not often that something like this happens, but it looks like we will be getting Resident Evil 6 over a month earlier than originally announced. Not only that, but recently at Captivate we also got a whole slew of new visuals and a bit more on the story of the game. Don't believe me? Look below and you will see an awesome new trailer for the game. You will also get to find out that Wesker is still kind of kicking it in the RE universe in the form all parents can be immortal. Yes, read that as you will meet his kid. Read More...

Finally Some Game Play For The Walking Dead Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 06:29 PM ]
We recently were given a look at The Walking Dead's game play via Telltale's debut trailer but it wasn't much more than a few seconds. A few seconds of very little compared to what the latest episode of Playing Dead has to show us. While the episode is about 15 minutes long, if you jump to the 7 minute mark you will get a glimpse at about 3 minutes of the game. Spoiler, it looks like it handles just as one would expect from Telltale. Take a watch. Read More...

Do We Really Need More Reasons To Buy Prototype 2?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 01:32 AM ]
How many reasons do you need to pick up Prototype 2? For me it was the sheer fact that there is a sequel to the game coming out that sold it for me. Then again I am a huge fan of the first and have seen nothing but good things for PT2. Those of you on the fence may want to take a look at the below trailer which will show you another 11 reasons why you should pre-order the game or give it a go when it finally launches. I'll be honest here that none of these reasons would be a 100% lock in for me if I was new to the franchise. I don't expect it to be for you either. Read More...

Time To Gawk At The View Darksiders II Will Be Giving Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of March 2012 - 09:12 PM ]
I have to admit that every time there is something new for Darksiders II, visually, I find it a little hard to actually write something about it. I actually have a loss of words because the visuals of the clips and screens speak volumes more than I ever could and I am normally very long winded. This also makes me have to admit that when there is new stuff there is a delay on posting about it. Given all that, we have a new CGI Trailer as well as a newish Dev Diary for the game. The diary showing more or less the scale of the game world and some of the environments. Read More...

You know you do. Don't lie. It's why you clicked in here. So by all means we have a new short trailer for The Walking Dead Video Game from Telltale. Change In Video Games Is Good
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 19th of March 2012 - 11:11 PM ]
Fear is a feeling we have all experienced throughout our lives. It creeps up on us in the dark of night. It claws at our backs when the unknown approaches us. Fear is a very natural emotion in the realm of the real world but why is fear such an almighty powerful force within the realm of video games? Specifically why do we gamers cower in fear from change? Change is a natural force of life. Read More...

Review: Journey
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of March 2012 - 10:16 PM ]
Before I go on, let me make it clear this is a review for the 2012 video game Journey and not the band of the same name. Don't need the confusion. Anyway, here we go with thatgamecompany's next title hitting the PSN. They've made huge waves with flOw and Flower and here they try again with Journey. Though, you don't need a full history lesson here. You need to know if you should drop your cash here so let's just get down to it. Story You take the role of a weird "robed" figure, which seems to be made completely out of said robes, that is on a journey to the top of a glowing mountain. Read More...
