Join The Chaos Squad In Sunset Overdrive's Multiplayer Mode
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new multiplayer mode for Sunset Overdrive has been announced with a trailer showing off all of the new chaos Can Sunset Overdrive get any wackier? Most likely but the new co-op mode, Chaos Squad, shows off quite a bit of the insanity that we will have to deal with on October 28th via our Xbox One's and Xbox Live. If that is your jam and all. I mean who would want to play a game like Sunset Overdrive in a multiplayer aspect? Read More...

So There Will Be A Single Player Mode In Evolve
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Recently Chris Ashton from Turtle Rock Studios revealed that there will be a single-player campaign in Evolve It would seem that I was a bit confused before when it came to Evolve and the play modes of the game. I was under the impression that it was a multiplayer experience through and through. Looks like I was wrong as Turtle Rock has only focused on showing the multiplayer aspect of Evolve and kind of pushed the solo play to the side lines. That was until a few quotes from Chris Ashton (Design Director) let fly out into the world of the internet directly pointed at the single-player experience. Here's what Mr. Read More...

Been Jonesing For Triple Triad? Eminence: Xander's Tales Has You Covered
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Eminence: Xander's Tales is a new MMORPG/TCG is coming that will bring back the fun of Triple Triad and then some If there is one thing I loved about Final Fantasy 8 it was Triple Triad and it looks like it is making a comeback with Eminence: Xander's Tales. Yep, the best feature of one game is becoming the sole mechanic behind another game, at least in a close enough way that there shouldn't be any legal battles; hopefully. It's not like Aeterna Studios is using any of the assets here, just some of the basic mechanics to fuel the gameplay along to hopefully give us a story as it is also slated as a MMORPG. I know you want to see Eminence in action a little bit so I'll give you a gameplay trailer here just so you can get all those nostalgic juices flowing in your system. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: Evolve
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Evolve In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It I have heard so much about Evolve from every other even that I have had to miss out on. Hearing that I would be able to play it at E3 got me excited as all of the trailers and gameplay footage up until now has had me extremely interested. So I made the trek over to the 2K booth and settled in to see how the game plays and if Evolve can live up to the hype that I have seen flung around for it. At least from the aspect of one of the hunters, Hyde the Assault, so know that there is a bit of skew here since I didn't get hands on with the other four playable characters. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Mortal Kombat X In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Mortal Kombat X was teased and rumored long enough before E3 that it was no real big surprise to see it play out on the big screens during the press conferences. By no means am I saying it wasn't a treat to see but there was no real shock and awe moment as the game was fully announced. But that is really all that happened on the big screen leaving much to be desired beyond the long lines of fans waiting to see what Ed Boon had in store for us; not to mention the two new characters promised to be shown off during the event. But beyond that long line was much more than was to be expected… First and foremost was the fact that we got to see not only two new characters to the Mortal Kombat universe but we got to see four. E3 2014 Hands On: Battlecry
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of June 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Battlecry In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Announced just before E3 we have Battlecry from Bethesda and BattleCry Studios. This is the new title that is a 32 player multiplayer hack 'n' slash title where players take on the role of one of five classes from one of three different factions in the game. Up until now we only had a nice CGI trailer for the game and a few screen shots that showed off the cell shaded looking world of visceral combat. Luckily it was also available to play while on the floor of E3 and I got to play quite a few matches of the game as one of the enforcers in the game. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Bloodborne
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3 I got to see Bloodborne in a more intimate setting than just the trailer. Here's my take on it One of the larger titles named and shown during the Sony press conference was a game called Bloodborne. The next title coming from Japan Studios and From Software for the PS4. You may know them from King's Field and Dark Souls and it looks like Bloodborne is along the same lines here. I had the pleasure of seeing their live gameplay demo on the show floor at E3. Lucky for you I am going to break down what was shown outside of the pre-rendered trailer. Read More...

Gear Up For Battle In The Reboot Of Gauntlet
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A trailer for the Gauntlet reboot has been released showing off all the gear and weapons that we will be using in the game Earlier this year we had the announcement for Gauntlet getting the next gen treatment with a nice little trailer. Now that Gauntlet is slated to be shown off to the world here next week it should be right time to show off some actual gameplay. Isn't it? Even if you said 'No' in your head then too bad because we have some new footage for the game. Read More...

As Suspected… Mortal Kombat X Is Now Officially Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
The countdown is over and Mortal Kombat X has been officially announced with a trailer and a few bits on gameplay After weeks of teasing and many "leaks" it looks like we got what was "promised" as Mortal Kombat X has now been fully announced. It even has a nice pre-rendered trailer to go along with it. At least it is assumed to be pre-rendered but the fact that it looks to be using the Unreal Engine 4 as a base and planned for the PS4, XB1, and PC as well as the "last gen" consoles, it might not be out of the realm of possibilities for it to be real time footage. Doubtful, but possible. Read More...

Let's Get Teased For Quantum Break As There Is Nothing More Until Gamescom
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Remedy Entertainment has given us a tease for Quantum Break with nothing more coming until Gamescom in August So everyone seems to be announcing everything just before E3 or, in the case of Quantum Break, telling us that there will be nothing new until a later date. In the case of Quantum Break that would happen to be Gamescom in August this year. Not too far off but for us State-side that means that most of us will have to be remote to see what Remedy has up their sleeves for us for the game. On the plus side we do have a bit of a tease for what will be shown off for Quantum Break in August. Read More...

[UPDATED] Rumor Mill: Does This Make Mortal Kombat X Official?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
An image of some promotional materials on Reddit may have outed the next Mortal Kombat via poster. UPDATE: Well it looks like a new Mortal Kombat is now mostly confirmed as Ed Boon has posted the following on his Twitter account after updating the look and icons to match the poster. Unless he is trolling us all it looks pretty confirmed. We'll know for sure next week when his countdown ends. Read More...

BattleCry Studios Has Announced Their First Title…Battlecry
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Bethesda and BattleCry Studios have just announced the studio's first title Battlecry in wonderful CG trailer form. Some of you may have heard of BattleCry Studios being founded back in 2012. Some of you, maybe not. None the less after two years of being in service it looks like we are getting a look at the developer's first title that just also happens to share the company's name; Battlecry. Not many points on being creative in naming either the title or the company but at least most of us will never forget one or the other. Hopefully Battlecry doesn't suck or the studio will always have to live with the stigma. Read More...

Four New Characters Have Been Revealed For Evolve
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
There are now four new characters for Evolve but the same four classes. Just in case you thought the first set of hunters for Evolve were boring, Turtle Rock has brought us four new characters for the game. One for each class with their own new personalities and different abilities, skills, and weapons in the game. I'll be honest here too; each of these new characters seems a lot cooler than the basic four that came with the original announcement for Evolve. Here is a quick rundown for the four new characters. Halo 5: Guardians Has Been Announced For A Fall 2015 Release
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Halo 5: Guardians has been officially announced now by 343 Studios for the Xbox One next year. While the new installment of the Halo franchise was teased during the huge Microsoft event last year at E3, just weeks before this year's E3 we get the announcement and release window for Halo 5: Guardians. Good news for all of you Halo fans I am sure although I keep hearing the outcry for a Halo 2: Anniversary to be released on the XB1. That is news for another day though as here we are talking Halo 5: Guardians news. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new gameplay trailer and screen shots for Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive have been released for our viewing pleasure. We have yet to see much more than a CG trailer for the Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive. This is the latest title coming from the once mainly PlayStation exclusive developer Insomniac Games. You might remember it being announced during the Microsoft E3 2013 press event or you might not. No matter which you luck out today that we have a metric butt load of new visuals and in-game footage to show you for this open world shooter title. Read More...
