With E3 slowly getting closer and closer, a surprise announcement last week from Microsoft will kick E3 off early on a Sunday for Project Natal. Not to be left behind, today Sony has told everyone to Save The Date for June 15th in Los Angeles, CA as to when they will be revealing their latest stuff this year. A month or two ago, it was announced that someone had figured out how to crack the PS3 to allow for home-brews and "pirated"/backed up PS2 and PS3 games to be played on the system. It was not explained how for a week or two after the announcement that it could be done in a way that could not be patched. But this isn't the news here. Today, December 3, 2009 marks the 15th anniversary of Sony's PlayStation line. As I was about to board my flight for the trip, I thought I might pick up something to help the trip go by faster. I understood that buying inside the airport usually meant higher prices, but I managed to find a reasonably priced PSP Assassin's Creed Bloodlines bundle, which came with the game, a Silver PSP-3000, a code redeemable for a DLC version of Angels and Demons, and a 2gb memory stick. Sure, I already had the PSP-1000 and I did know that the 3000's screens were crap at best, but I decided to get one anyhow seeing as that my launch unit's screen was fairly beaten up, scratched, and the fact that the audio only worked through the headphones as the speakers had found a way to stop working about 2 weeks before. Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed isn't new to the handheld world, Altair's Chronicles was released to the Nintendo DS and iPhone earlier, however this was the first time that they would try putting the full free-roam style gameplay on a handheld. Today Rockstar Games released the long awaited trailer for Red Dead Redemption, the sequel to Red Dead Revolver, which has been making its way over the internet over the holiday. Rockstar games released the official video in HD format for all you fans out there, along with the release date of April 27th, 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 title.We follow the adventures of a former outlaw, John Marsten as he travels across the American Frontier at the end of an age where the Wild West is quickly fading, and the Industrial Age is being ushered in.  Players are going to enjoy a slew of new characters while traversing this large open-world environment, and really get a feel for the settings and environments surrounding them. With the 2009 fiscal year ending in October, it's finally time to say goodbye to a fairly bleak year, and say hello to a really good year. Why does it always seem like Sony is the last to get everything. Well finally Netflix will be able to be streamed to the 9 million PS3 homes around the nation. Playstation.blog announced that Netflix will be available at no extra charge. Imagine that! But it's not available just yet... You can actually get a notification when it is usable by signing up here, but it looks to be sometime next month.
