E3 2010: Sights And Sounds
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 29th of June 2010 - 06:54 PM ]
It has been over a week now since E3 closed its doors. Since then I have been pouring over the many pictures I snapped - from the Activision Party to the Nintendo and Sony presser to everything else in between. I also managed to film some of the Method Man and Redman concert at the Konami booth. You may think it is all fun and games when you are at E3, and at times can be, but it is also a lot of hard work. We work tirelessly to bring you the latest news, impressions and hands-on articles as quickly as we can. We also met a lot of great people and miss the ones we didn't get a chance to meet up with. Jamming With Method Man And Redman
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 12th of June 2010 - 06:12 PM ]
That's right folks, the Konami booth at E3 will have a live concert with Method Man and Redman. The concert will be on June 16th at 4pm for the upcoming game by 4MM call Def Jam Rapstar. If you are wondering what Def Jam Rapstar is, then let me shed a bit of light to you. It's pretty much karaoke with famous rap songs that you all love. There isn't really too much said about the song list. Especially on the official game site. Read More...

Spider-Man 2099 Officially A Dimension
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of June 2010 - 08:54 PM ]
Well my bubble is now busted. What I thought was a Judge Dread meets Todd McFarlane dimension has finally been confirmed as not to be. But instead called something stupid like Spider-Man 2099. Yea, The E3 video below confirms our worst nightmares. Oh wait... What..? Not our worst dreams but something we were hoping for. That's what I meant. Although you have to admit a Spider-Man/Spawn/Judge Dread cross over dimension would have been awesome to play through. Read More...

Spider-Man Shatters Into the Judge Dread Dimension
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of June 2010 - 06:35 PM ]
Ok, not really but it sure does look like a toned down version of Judge Dread in these new screen shots from Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions doesn't it? Of course it does. It also looks like a Spawn look has overtaken Spider-Man from these new screens as well, which looks extremely bad ass in my oh so non-humble opinion. But one question still runs in my head - what dimension is this one? Is it the same Roid-Rage one that the Goblin is seen in? Read More...

Red Dead Redemption: First Impressions And Thoughts
by Brian Goodman [ Friday, 21st of May 2010 - 09:41 PM ]
Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar San Diego's newly released sandbox genre game. Despite many delayed release dates, reports of troubled working conditions, and an overblown development budget making profitability unlikely, the game has come out to much critical acclaim and rightly so. Red Dead Redemption is a sequel to the 2004 XBox and PS2 release Red Dead Revolver. Red Dead Redemption stars outlaw turned government agent John Marston. The Clint Eastwood-like spaghetti western plot revolves around Mr. Read More...

Little IncrediBig Planet
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 30th of March 2010 - 06:03 PM ]
There are few things more disarmingly cute than the sack population of LittleBigPlanet. They have had many "guests" come through their game, including the Pirates of the Carribean, the comedic antics of the Ghostbusters, the vengeance soaked Ezio from Assassin's Creed II, the borderline confusing narrative prowess of the Watchmen, the grizzled veterans of the Metal Gear Solid series, and many more. Well, coming April 8th Pixar is diving into the fray with The Incredibles pack for the LittleBigStore. The Playstation Blog proclaims, fairly proudly that, "This huge pack features NINE costumes: all of The Incredibles family (including a “Retro” Mr. Read More...

The Heritage Of Aliens Vs. Predator
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 23rd of January 2010 - 12:12 AM ]
Now this is what I was hoping for when Sega let loose the Kill Video for Aliens Vs. Predator. At least as it goes for graphics and action. Although it could just be that they are comparing the new game to the original that came out about ten years ago. But in either instance, here is a much better look at Aliens Vs. Predator. Also, unlike the last AvP video, this one isn't just a quick montage of images and scenes. Read More...

Aliens and Predators Show Off Their Killing Moves
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of January 2010 - 05:19 PM ]
As is to be expected, there are a myriad of ways to kill each other in Sega and Rebellion's upcoming Aliens Vs. Predator. How many, well that number has yet to be counted, but from the below video you can get a small idea. Small, just for the fact that it is a quick minute montage of killing scenes from the game. From all creatures point of view. Yes humans are included in the "creatures" of the game. Read More...

Shattered Horizon gets Dedicated
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 5th of December 2009 - 09:00 PM ]
We all know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took away dedicated servers from PC gamers. This is not the case for Shattered Horizon. On December 4th, 2009 Futuremark Games Studio finally allows for a dedicated server for Shattered Horizon, a multiplayer first-person shooter played in zero gravity. At least PC gamers will be able to choose how they want to play Shattered Horizon and who they want to play with. Players will be getting greater protection from cheats, hackers and griefers. Epic Fail, the 4th edition
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 24th of November 2009 - 11:36 PM ]
<rant>So awoke today to an all to familiar sight: a red ringed 360. I've had 4 red rings in 5 years, and while I most likely use my 360 more than the average user, 4 units in 5 years is unacceptable for a company who can afford to make a system that won't fail.</rant> I did a poll of my 60 some friends on Live and got 30 responses: 23 of them have had red rings, 7 of them haven't, and of those 7, 3 got theirs this year (the newest 360, which allegedly won't red ring anymore). While many polls have been done outside of mine, the results are always staggering, in some polls (like the game informer poll) gamers report that the failure rate is over 50% while some polls report around 20-25%. Anything above 10% in my mind is a completely unacceptable. Read More...

When Aliens & Predators Fight, It Sucks To Be Human
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of October 2009 - 08:52 PM ]
Being a lowly space marine seems like the worst thing to be in Aliens Vs. Predator. Just by watching the trailer down below, you get a great sense that most people will only play the Human portion if they are in for a challenge or an Achievement/Trophy whore. I mean come on, the human they show through out the clip is scared poopless the entire clip. To the point where it begs the question right? Then again, I'd be the same way if I was a lowly space marine going up against a retardababy, advanced race of space hunters or even a ridiculously agile and stealthy race of creatures that bleed acid. Do Aggregator Sites Really Work?
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 14th of September 2009 - 04:44 PM ]
With the proliferation of the Internet, becoming a “published” writer is easier than it has ever been in the history of the world. Blogs, social networks and other various tools give just about anyone the ability to give their voice a platform to be heard. This is especially evident in “games journalism.” Hundreds of sites, including this one, vying for visitors and page views, are publishing everything from news to editorials to reviews. Doing whatever it takes to establish a reader base and either “be discovered” or turn the site from a hobby into a job. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Fourty: Squeak Squeak Thump
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 31st of August 2009 - 01:13 AM ]
Michael, Binh, and Brian are here this week with a shorter than usual episode. They discuss the games they have been playing, including Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Little Big Planet, Red Faction, Batman and Drama Queens. We reveal our latest Bargain Bin titles featuring games for the PC, PS3 and Nintendo DS this week. We also pull out the WD-40 as the squeaking is out of control this episode. We also realize we are going to need plaster to patch up the holes made in the walls. Read More...

Seeing Red Daily
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 19th of August 2009 - 04:05 PM ]
Another contender, albeit an interesting one, in the area of game rental and availability - Redbox, more known for its kiosks which seem to be everywhere from Royal Farms to McDonald's, will now be offering games for the DS, Wii, Playstations 2&3, and Xbox 360 for a sum of $2 nightly. For most gamers, GameFly seems to be the go to source for gaming rentals along with the coveted Goozex for trading and trying out titles. This reminds me of several years ago when the war was between Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Well, considering I never played a game from Hollywood Video that wasn't scratched, maybe it wasn't much of a war after all. Read More...
