Review: Portal 2

So here we are again, apparently only a few months after the events of Portal (assumed from in-game interactions). Still trapped in Aperture Science. Still being tested. But importantly, Still Alive. Alive and needing a final escape from the insane AI running the facility that is now hell-bent on enacting revenge for what Chell did in the first game. Finally A Twisted Metal Release Date

It only took a little under a year, but we now have a release date and a pretty awesome trailer for Twisted Metal. All I have to say right off the bat; WELL WORTH THE WAIT. At least worth the wait for the trailer as we still have to wait until October 4th for the game. But at least we get to have the fun media frenzy to look forward to and most likely a few demos at conventions and on the PSN. The trailer doesn't show all too much of the game but a few scenes from the live action films and slight game play but at least we have been promised some more info here this week. What this could be is anyone's guess, but I'm sure it will be only the start of the forth coming avalanche of info and visuals. Read More...

Green Lantern: Rise Of The Manhunters, Potentially Good Or Flop?

Recently I had a conversation with a few people on movie tie-in games and if they could ever be any good. As was to be expected, the conclusion was generally not likely. There have been so many crappy movie tie-in games put out there, most of which to suck more money out of the consumer. But every now and then there are a few that are not just utter crap. For me, they are usually the games that are not rushed to meet a film's release date and TRULY expand on the overall story of the film. Up Close And Personal With Mortal Kombat's Shang Tsung

Ah The Mean Streets Of L.A. Noire...

There is nothing like see the dirty underbelly of the streets and police force. It totally gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling in my belly. For once, one of the trailers for L.A. Noire has actually been able to get me to lose some doubt. Well, at least the doubt in how the audio mixes in with the visuals. As I have said before, to me the audio seems just way too high quality when mixed in. Not that either the visuals and audio are bad, but they just didn't seem to meld well. Read More...

It's Time For Mortal Kombat!

It is official. Mortal Kombat has gone gold. We no longer have to worry about major delays or cancelations. Not that we were at all. It is no Duke Nukem Forever or anything. Am I right? Huh? Huh…? Dungeon Siege III Katarina Video

Dungeon Siege III is a little more than two months away and I can hardly contain my excitement. We recently got a video highlighting the latest ally that will be available in game and this girl is fierce. Katarina Vignette is a ranged death dealing machine and the third ally to be announced. Trained in the ways of nomads, she uses Guns, Magic and a black hound to pretty much eviscerate her enemies. The 10th legion did well when they recruited her. Expect some awesome pistol play, and some very cool shotgun animations, which are really highlighted in the following video. Read More...

Review: Killzone 3

Here we go again. It's time to try and end this conflict between the I.S.A. and the Helghast once and for all. Picking up right after the events of Killzone 2, we are thrust right back into the mix of it in Killzone 3. All to meet the end of saving Earth from the new tech and tactics of the Helghast who are still hell-bent on doing just that. Outside of being a continuation, Killzone 3 is also one of the titles that Sony seems to be relying on to show off their tech and hardware capabilities. So outside of pleasing fans of the franchise, Guerrilla Games and Sony have a lot on their plate as far as expectations. Read More...

Duke Nukem Delayed Again: Much Shorter This Time

Duke Nukem Forever being delayed again is like a nerd with a pocket protector - you know the joke, everyone knows the joke and the best you can muster is a half-hearted smile in one corner of your mouth in recognition the joke even existed. So, the fact 2K and Gearbox went with a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the announcement shows a true effort in good faith to the game and the franchise as a whole. Time To See How Kratos Will Handle The Mortal Kombat Universe

PS3 Mortal Kombat fans have been teased too long with the fact that Kratos will be a console exclusive character. Teased with the knowledge, but nothing as far as substantial in-game footage. That is until now as there is a new trailer out showing some of his moves and animations. Color me impressed with this new view of the character. From the looks of trailer, it is fully upgraded Kratos from God of War III that is know fighting against mortals for the pleasure of Shao Kahn and himself. At least that would be the only reason I can see him fighting in the tournament as Kratos really doesn't seem to care what happens to his world. Read More...

X-Men: Destiny Is Going To Be Filled With Teenage Angst

If there already wasn't enough of this or conflict in the X-Universe, it looks like new comer Aimi Yoshida will be bringing her own to X-Men: Destiny. Aimi being the most recent character brought out for the game's character roster. A small Asian female who was "abandoned" by her parents. Granted it was so she was not rounded up with all the other mutants in Japan, but what teenage girl would not hold onto those issues to give her a reason to be bitter and angry? Funny thing is I'd be bitterer about the thing that was forcing the label on me, the mutant power. Her power, from what has been given so far, is that she specializes in efficient mutant power usage.
