Well here it is folks, one of the two classes we have all been waiting for, The Sith Warrior. This class looks amazing. Being able to wear large, heavy, technological army is a Darth Vader fan's dream come true. This looks like it's going to be a tank type class for SWTOR. But with such fast and furious sword play, who knows? The force powers look like tons of fun. Grunge and flannel: they go together like consoles&fanboys. Defining an entire decade of rock, grunge started the trend to move away from synth-pop, popular in the 80's, to a harder sound that emphasized the angst building in rebellion to 80's preppy style and trickle down economics. The earthier sounds and personalities of the grunge scene felt like you were watching a garage band down the street rather than the huge arenas and corporate heroes of pristine pop music and shiny glam-rock. Nirvana's release of Nevermind and the subsequent momentum shocked and appalled people as much as it enticed and enthralled. Toys, pack-ins, gimmicks, add-ons and peripherals are all words that are not unknown or unheard of to Nintendo Wii owners’ ears.  Since the console’s launch in 2006, a great many guns zappers, dance pads, microphones, etc., have been bundled with Wii games filling living rooms to capacity -- especially with the onset of rhythm games.  Even Nintendo’s best-selling game, WiiPlay is merely a controller with a $10 tech demo, and there has always been a premium attached to the bundles that have exceeded the normal price point for a Wii game at $49.99. Sack it to Me – the "Big Announcements" Edition You ever hop into the level creator for LittleBigPlanet and feel like there was something missing. Something that stopped you from being able to faithfully recreate the entire game of Super Mario Bros. using their sandbox. Something you couldn't quite place your finger on. Last week I discussed my feelings about downloadable content which is one of two things that have drastically risen in the last few years to become a common site in the video games industry. Today I want to take a look at the second which are Special Edition releases. Before I actually get to the different pieces that are actually packaged within, I’d like to share what I think should be the definition of various special editions because I’ve seen several different variations in my time. Announcing: LittleBigPlanet – Game of the Year edition If there is one thing I hate when I open up a new DVD or Blu-Ray case, it's when there is an ad for a Special Edition of the same film that I bought coming out in a few weeks/months. A new edition with all the crazy extra features and extras that I wanted in the one I just bought. The kicker is when they advertise this new version for the same price as the one I just bought. Additional PS3 Greatest Hits Titles Available Now Just like in music, when something has been around for a while and you want to remind fans of the awesomeness of the old stuff, you hit it up with a greatest hits treatment. It happens all the time. It also happens in the gaming world, and this time it has happened in time for players to get a rerun of a game before the sequel flies onto shelves. This morning on the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and SOCOM Confrontation are the two latest titles to get this treatment. Finally some closure. After a very long and grueling process, Activision and Double Fine Studios have come to some even ground and we do not have to worry about Brütal Legend being delayed in all it's rocking glory. According to the Associated Press and the New York Times, the Lawyers for Activision told court officials that they had finally come to a settlement with Double Fine Studios on Wednesday. For a brief recap see my previous article Activision tells EA to Back off The Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman said that Activision settled with Double Fine and a hearing, that was supposed to occur this fine Thursday morning, was canceled. What was heard last week was that the Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan had told Activision's lawyers that the request was probably going to get denied and the game was going to get released on time anyways. Video game site lets players bet on their skills Looks like there is a new site for gamers to literally put their money where their mouth is. Well more literal that the phase is commonly used. September 16th of last year saw Lucasarts release the much anticipated Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Right from the get-go, TFU was all about giving players a more thorough Force-wielding experience. Powers like Force Push and Force Lightning could be used in ways far beyond anything we’d ever seen before in a Star Wars game. Following the games release though, Lucasarts supported the title by creating several downloadable packages.
