CES 2010: Tritton Technologies
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 02:26 PM ]
Here at CES 2010, we had the opportunity to stop by and visit with Tritton Technologies to see the "next big thing" in gaming headsets.  Tritton's Aaron Smith took us around the booth giving us a guided tour of the AX-180, AX-720 and the AX-Pro.  He was kind enough to suffer through our questions and a video recording.  The did not have their upcoming release of a wireless version of the AX-180 at this show, but look for it at PAX East.  So, take a gander at the video Binh recorded and leave your comments on the products below. Review: Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 7th of January 2010 - 09:56 PM ]
Though Spirit Tracks is far from innovative, it boasts enough improvement in gameplay and graphics over Legend of Zelda’s previous release on the Nintendo DS, Phantom Hourglass, to insure its success.  Not every game has to be groundbreaking to entertain its audience.  Spirit Tracks takes fans of the Zelda franchise into another quest to save Hyrule – this time with Zelda’s spirit accompanying and assisting Link along the way.The story, including why you need to visit the Tower of Spirits, is not particularly innovative, but it has a certain amount of charm. A few generations after the adventure of Link and Tetra in Phantom Hourglass, peace reigns in Hyrule with Princess Zelda ruling. Read More...

With the Holidays finally over and a brand new year ahead of us, Nintendo starts the new year with a bang... or at least with a bit of spice. Your cooking skills will be put to the test with Hell's Kitchen Vs, or maybe you'd rather duke it out in Final Fight 3. Let's see how good you really are when you play Pub Darts. Here is where I give you the break down of this week's Nintendo Downloads. Nintendo DSiWareTrajectilePublisher: NintendoPlayers: 1ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)Price: 500 Nintendo DSi Points™Description: Trajectile is a puzzle game that's as much about firepower as it is about brainpower, requiring you to line up your shot and launch a flurry of missiles at enemy targets. Review: Little Big Planet PSP
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 21st of December 2009 - 06:03 PM ]
“Play, Create, Share” is the motto for the newest Playstation Portable game Little Big Planet PSP. We all know how Little Big Planet when released for the Playstation 3; winning awards left and right and managing to win Game of the Year in many publications like GamePro, Edge and Eurogamer. The thing is, most of us already know how Little Big Planet (LBP) played on Sony's big black console and we here at Aggrogamer were curious just how it would play out on the often-overlooked PSP. Well let us utilize the motto to explore the PSP version of Little Big Planet. “Play”: Little Big Planet PSP is in no way a port from the PS3 to the PSP. Read More...

What I Want: Rock Band Franchise
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 14th of December 2009 - 12:47 AM ]
What I Want: From the Rock Band Franchise Recently I played Beatles: Rock Band and Lego Rock Band, and while one was looking back at a band's career and the other was geared to a younger crowd, they both did something that really caught my attention. They had a story, not just creating a band and playing songs at venues. You actually had a story to some gigs or had special concerts you held. I came to an instant revelation at this point. Smithsonian to host Video Game art.
by Ben Brody [ Saturday, 12th of December 2009 - 01:51 AM ]
So, presumably right before the world ends, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC will host art that most of its denizens aren't used to: Video Game Art. Beginning on March 16th and lasting until September 9 in 2012 (or the end of the world, whichever comes first), the Smithsonian will host an exhibition covering everything from the Magnavox Odyssey (of which is already in the Smithsonian now) to the PlayStation 3 and everything in between. Video game art exhibitions aren't anything new, however big name players like Smithsonian have never had one. The Smithsonian said that not only will they have developer interviews, concept art, screenshots, rarely seen console concepts, game footage, and more, but they'll also take input from the public on what they would like to see. by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 18th of November 2009 - 11:49 PM ]
Are you tired of reading all the reviews for Modern Warfare 2? Or listening to every gaming podcast giving the game high marks? Well how about we throw some numbers at you and see if you think Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is worthy of this year's Game of the Year. Activision Blizzard, Inc (Nasdaq: ATVI) has announced today that Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brought in approximately $550 million dollars in the first five-day worldwide. This makes it the largest entertainment launch in history. How about we look at more numbers for the first five-day entertainment records, including box office, book and other video game sales. If the Nintendo Entertainment System Was Left 4 Dead
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 17th of November 2009 - 05:07 PM ]
Eric Ruth, of the aptly named EricRuthGames, has designed what is probably one of the most entertaining things related to Left 4 Dead in recent memory. With Left 4 Dead 2 upon us, and all of the bells and whistles it provides, it is hard to imagine a time before these advanced graphics engines, intelligent scenario directors, and well... four player gameplay. To remind us all of the goodness of our past, Eric decided to create an 8-bit version of the game. Read More...

Review: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 13th of November 2009 - 03:33 AM ]
As I looked at the massive amount of people at my local GameStop that were in line to pickup MW2, it dawned on me, this is the biggest, most anticipated, and what could be the best selling action game of all time. Over 300 people were standing in the cold for some four hours waiting for the same thing. Many of them planned on calling in sick the next day or skipping out on school just to get some playtime in. Many people were reminiscing about COD4 or saying how they played a bunch of COD4 to get psyched up about MW2. Read More...

Zelda Still Nothing More Than A Phantom
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 03:06 AM ]
Last week, Nintendo announced that "for the first time" Link and Zelda will team up to save Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. When I first came across this bit of news, I honestly didn't think much of it. Don't get me wrong -- I'm looking forward to the next adventure with Link on the DS -- but after playing it at E3, I have had modest expectations on new gameplay. The more I thought about this new bit of news, the more excited I got. After 20+ years of waiting to be saved by Link, Zelda is coming to the forefront to assert herself as a dominant character in the series. Read More...

Is Digital Distribution the Future?
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 02:51 AM ]
It's fairly safe that we can all assume that the future of movies and game sales is digital distribution. How long the duration will be for it to take over is anybody's guess. It will be more determined by the willingness of people to download a game as opposed to having a physical copy than anything else. Delivery systems like GameTap, Direct2Drive and most notably Steam, have been digitally distributing PC games for years and have been met with success. It seems as though PC players are more willing to buy digital distribution than their console counterparts -- maybe because it's been available longer and they feel more comfortable with it or maybe it's because they don't care about having a physical copy since they can not trade it in anyhow. Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Impressions
by Brian Bentley [ Sunday, 8th of November 2009 - 03:07 AM ]
The impressions on the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer you are about to read are from our owner and friend, Andy Briggs.  When he isn't melting people's faces off on Xbox Live, you can find him on Pwned.com and Twitter.com.  Well with the release date on a few days away. I figured I would toss in my impressions of the multiplayer. Of course, it is quite reminiscent of the previous CoDs, this one just has a bit more of a special touch to it. Mainly, what I am talking about is the different types of achievements (can't remember what they are called) that accumulate to many different points. Read More...
