This Week In Video Games 6/11/17 — 6/16/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of June 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go with one of the busiest weeks in video games we usually have for the year. E3 has come and gone and there was so much to take in from the event as well as outside of it all. The press conferences had a lot to show us but that was only a fraction of the video games that were out there and we have many more to cover for you. Sure we had a chance to talk about Days Gone, Far Cry 5, and many more. Read More...

E3 2017 Impressions — Life Is Strange: Before The Storm
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of June 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Life Is Strange While at E3 I was able to see Life Is Strange: Before The Storm in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Life Is Strange: Before The Storm. Another huge shocking title to make it's way out to E3 this year had to be Life Is Strange: Before The Storm. This is a prequel of sorts for the amazing title that DONTNOD gave us before and now Deck Nine Games aims to give us all a feel for where some of the other characters came from and how they better tie into the overall story. Unlike many of the other games announced and shown at E3 though, Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is slated for a pretty quick release date with August 31st for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is a shorter title in the series with only three episodes slated, but that doesn't mean it won't pack a punch. Read More...

E3 2017 Impressions — Spider-Man
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of June 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Spider-Man While at E3 I was able to see Spider-Man in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Spider-Man. This was one of the bigger titles that had everyone on the E3 showfloor clamouring for more and that is about what we had for Spider-Man out here this year. It of course all kicked off with the new gameplay trailer for the game that Insomniac Games put together for the big PlayStation showcase, but then was followed up with another showing on the show floor in one of the PS4 showrooms. It wasn't any different part of Spider-Man, but it was a live demo of the same portion of the game where a few different things were shown off and explained a bit more than in the trailer we all have most likely seen a few times over already. Just like the Days Gone demo, I've added in the original gameplay trailer for Spider-Man that was shown and then will dive into the differences that were shown and explained behind the closed doors of the showroom. E3 Hands On — The Inpatient
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of June 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
The Inpatient While at E3 I was able to see The Inpatient in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on The Inpatient. Here we go with another interesting title that was shown off during the big PlayStation media showcase and it is The Inpatient. Not much was known for this title before or even after the event outside of the trailer and that it is is another title coming from Supermassive Games for the PS VR set up. Also, as of this time it is only a PS VR title so keep that in mind as I break down my experience with The Inpatient in one of the hidden floors of the E3 show floor booths. Well, not so hidden but hard to get to as it was a rather long demo for the show here, but I am digressing from the actual hands on. Read More...

We Have You Covered With The Live Stream Straight From E3 2017 Not everything is going to be on the show floor of E3 2017 and because of that we have these huge press conferences and here we go with PC Gaming's huge event just before the doors open for us all. This Week In Video Games 6/5/17 — 6/9/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of June 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Here we go with one of the last weeks of video games before everything explodes with E3 here. I figured this would be one of the slower weeks as all of the good news and updates would be held until next week, and for the most part I was right. We did get the release date for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and a look at Injustice 2's Red Hood before he launches next week. Not to mention we wrapped up another of The Walking Dead's video games here in terms of reviews. Read More...

Review — The Walking Dead: A New Frontier — From The Gallows
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of June 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead We sit down and review The Walking Dead: A New Frontier — From The Gallows. This is the final episode of Telltale's continuation on their version of The Walking Dead. Here's our review on how they did It may have had a slow start to get going, but here we go with the end of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier's season here. Technically this would be the end of the third season of the franchise from Telltale Games but given the new title it can be seen as its own thing in a shared universe. No matter which way you want to take it, here we are at the end of this season of The Walking Dead and in turn the conclusion of this story and hopefully closure on all of the other events and choices in the game so far. Minecraft: Story Mode Is Getting A 2nd Season To Build Off Part Of The 1st
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of June 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Minecraft It is official that Minecraft: Story Mode is getting a seond season and it will be bringing back a few of the Minecraft community members with it It seemed like it was "iffy" to me that Minecraft: Story Mode was going to be getting a full second season for fans to enjoy, all based on the eight episode season the first had, but as it looks there will be a season two. Today Telltale Games has announced that it is teaming up with Mojang again and bringing the episodic adventure back to carry on the adventures of Jesse in their own crafted world. Not only did they announce it, but Minecraft: Story Mode second season will be hitting the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices on July 11th with the first episode. Read More...

Pathfinder: Kingmaker Could Be Coming To A PC Near You If You Wish
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of June 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Pathfinder The Kickstarter for a new PC version of Pathfinder: Kingmaker has started and it is looking for help to bring more Pathfinder into the video game realm Normally I shy away from bringing you information like a new Kickstarter campaign, but seeing as Pathfinder: Kingmaker is near and dear to my heart in the recent years, I felt it needed to be shared. Not because I am attached to Owlcat Games or Paizo in any way, but because I really enjoy the pencil/pen and paper version of the whole campaign and now that duo mentioned before is trying to bring it all into a video game setting for the PC. That is at least if the Pathfinder: Kingmaker Kickstarter campaign is successful and they are able to bring down the $500,000 USD they are looking for. Read More...

Need For Speed Payback Is On Its Way & Looking For The Perfect Ride
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of June 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Need For Speed A new Need For Speed title is on its way as Need For Speed Payback has been announced and aims to pull into our homes this coming November Look out as we have a new driving game coming our way as Need For Speed Payback has been given the full announcement treatment and has already been given a release date for us to look to. The name may be a bit of a throw off for those who have been fans of the franchise for a while, but Payback is the latest from Ghost Games to come out for us on all the major platforms and coming on November 10th this year. Seems about right as there hasn't been much word on Need For Speed here in a while and now that we have word it makes sense to not have to wait too long to get it in our hands. Read More...

Review — The Walking Dead: A New Frontier — Thicker Than Water
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of June 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead We sit down and review The Walking Dead: A New Frontier — Thicker Than Water. This is the fourth episode of Telltale's continuation on their version of The Walking Dead. Here's our review on how they did We've made it almost to the end of the story of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier and things are starting to boil up and over for the group here. Just about right for the fourth episode of any of Telltale Games' titles out there and here we are with it. If I had to guess I'd say that this is about when the real twist that The Walking Dead is known to throw out there, or the gut punch as it may be, will hit us all. Read More...

The Pressure Is Almost On For Rocket In Guardians Of The Galaxy's Next Episode
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of June 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Guardians Of The Galaxy The official trailer for Guardians Of The Galaxy's second episode is here and it looks like one of the Guardians Of The Galaxy will be getting a backstory expanded It was no big secret that the second episode of Guardians Of The Galaxy was coming this week as that was one of the big announcements that Telltale Games laid down for us not too long ago. It's landing on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices on June 6th, tomorrow, and it's been hyped up a bit to get everyone ready to continue on the story that has already begun. Mystical artifact, seems to be able to bring the dead back to life, the Guardians Of The Galaxy have it in their hands, and it looks like we may get to see where Rocket started his whole career from. Paragon Now Has Its Monkey King As Wukong Joins Right In
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of June 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Paragon The next Paragon hero has been shown off and you can expect this monkey to hit Paragon here on Tuesday after another three week wait for a new hero It was only a matter of time before Paragon got it, as every MOBA does have the character type, but it looks like the next hero to land will be a Monkey King style character named Wukong. It seemed like only a matter of time before Epic Games placed this kind of character in there and as of June 6th you will be able to play as Wukong on the PC and PS4 versions of the game. This brings us to 33 different heroes for Paragon by my count, I may be off, but it does look like there are now even more options out there than what came at launch. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 5/29/17 — 6/2/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of June 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week This was a shorter week here in video games but it still packed a lot of punches indeed. A lot of which was just to build up to E3 in just over a week from now but still we had a bunch of good and bad things happen this week. I know it was a bummer to see that Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War was delayed a few months, as well as Agony. At least the second title there had an amazing reason for the delay. Read More...

Extinction Is Relentlessly Coming For Us All In 2018
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of June 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Extinction Another new title, Extinction, has been announced just before E3 and we have a cinematic look at Extinction right now As if we didn't have enough games to look forward to already, it looks like we can add one more to the list as Extinction has just been announced by Maximum Games. While it does have a very post-apocalyptic sounding title, that isn't the case or was developers Iron Galaxy are aiming to bring us. In fact, Extinction's title is more along the lines of what you have to stop while set in a medieval setting where you are the lone hero trying to save everyone from a horde of massive ogres trying to murder everything in the area. You know, because that is just what Ogres do when not falling in love with donkey side-kicks and such. Read More...
