Nightmare Creatures Classic horror title, Nightmare Creatures, is getting rebooted, revamped, or just brought back as a new Nightmare Creatures has been announced It is hard to believe that it has been twenty years since Nightmare Creatures first graced us with its presence and tried to put the fear in us with the limited power of the hardware at the time. Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Thus concludes our week of news and updates for our beloved video games. Another pretty solid week when you look at it all and we were able to play a bit of catch up with the reviews we keep promising you. We saw both Night Trap and Life Is Strange get those treatments this week while we were still wading through the new for other video games like Shadow Of War and Assassin’s Creed Origins. Review — Life Is Strange: Before The Storm — Awake
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Life Is Strange We sit down and review Life Is Strange: Before The Storm — Awake. This is the first episode of the prequel to Life Is Strange. Here is our review on how they did It has been a quick turnaround here for Life Is Strange: Before The Storm as it was first announced at E3 this year and now the first episode of the season has dropped on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC here on August 31st. For those who may have missed out on it so far, this is the prequel to the original episodic game that has Deck Nine Games telling the story of a different character that still has a huge impact on the whole story. I am talking Chloe Price here for Life Is Strange and the ever-missing Rachel Amber. Read More...

Review — Night Trap 25th Anniversary Edition
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Night Trap We sit down and review Night Trap 25th Anniversary Edition. The Interactive Video ‘game’ that caused Senate Hearings is back. Here is our review of this Night Trap I remember so long ago spinning up, literally, Night Trap on my Uncle's Sega CD and giving the game a play. I also remember being yelled at later for playing such a "disgusting" game and then subsequently hearing all of the other horrible things about it. Now we are 25 years after that and we are getting a remaster of the game from Screaming Villains on the PC and PS4. Night Trap is one of the titles out there that was responsible for the ERSB being formed so it feels right to give the game a review and see what I may have missed so long ago and to see how it all holds up over the years. Meet The Blitzmensch Who Is ‘Saving’ The Day In Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Wolfenstein Another ‘propaganda’ video for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has dropped to expand the immersive world this Wolfenstein will be bringing us soon It is time to add another bit of ‘propaganda’ out there for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus with the Blitzmensch. This would be another one of the Nazi videos and shows we will see and hear when shooting our way through Nazi-occupied America in the game. The enemy will always be trying to usurp the current people and this is one of the tactics we will see in the background to explain why it is only BJ Blazkowicz fighting the good fight here. All because Machine Games wanted to make sure we had our immersion for Wolfenstein II in the fictional way and not what is going on in the current times. Read More...

For those who can't remember that, this would be the next title in the Until Dawn universe that Supermassive Games is bringing us and will place us further into the game than before. Are your memories jogged yet or do you need more for The Inpatient? Read More...

Assassin’s Creed Origins Sets Out To Have The Largest World Yet
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of August 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Assassin’s Creed More gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Origins is out there and it gives us a better look at how large the world of Assassin’s Creed Origins will be A whole lot of information and impressions for Assassin’s Creed Origins seemed to have flooded out of Gamescom with many sounding based on the similar demo shown off in the recent past for the game. I am not saying this is a bad thing here at all, but this is what Ubisoft has been bringing around so everyone can have a chance to give it all a play before October 27th when it hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, during the most recent event, we did get to see more of the inner machinations and scheming that will be going on with the power players in Assassin’s Creed Origins all to drive the story a bit more. This Week In Video Games 8/21/17 — 8/25/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of August 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Another fine week of video games in the bag and there was still so much that we did not get a chance to cover this week. I guess that is what having another huge gaming event like Gamescom will do to us all when we are just trying to share it all. I mean, we had a lot of updates and news for Shadow Of War this week and a continued update for South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Not to mention some other great video games getting the announcement like Biomutant and Jurassic World Evolution. Read More...

A New Psychological Horror Games I Coming In The Way Of Inmates
by Jana Lass [ Friday, 25th of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Inmates Another psychological horror title is in the works, Inmates, and it looks like Inmates will be bringing all kinds of terror just as we have seen before Out at Gamescom it looks like we had another announcement in the form of a game called Inmates. It may sound like this may be some kind of commentary on the prison systems around the world, but in fact this is a new psychological horror game from Iceberg Interactive that will be driving right on to the PC in a few month. The actual release date is not set down just yet, but it has been stated that Inmates will release in the next few months so take that as you will. At a $9. Read More...

Biomutant Is Announced & Bringing So Much To This Kung Fu Fable
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Biomutant A new title, Biomutant, was announced at Gamescom and it looks like Biomutant will be bringing the best in bionics, mutants, and Kung Fu in 2018 Get ready for another new IP to come to us all as Biomutant has been given the full announcement treatment out at Gamescom here in the way of a cinematic trailer. That does not do too much to show off this title from Experiment 101 in terms of gameplay, but it does show that THQ Nordic is still open to some amazing looking ideas and this is what we have here. Especially since Biomutant is listed as a Kung Fu Fable but it also includes the combination of mutant powers, bionics, and weapons in an open-world action RPG. Read More...

South Park: The Fractured But Whole Is Getting A Bit Crafty
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of August 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
South Park More gameplay for South Park: The Fractured But Whole has been released for Gamescom & it goes into more of the crafting system for this South Park game Last year at Gamescom South Park: The Fractured But Whole had a nice showing of the game at the state it was at that also came with a 4D experience of being able to smell the farts that were being produced. It was something to say you did and it gave Ubisoft a chance to spend more money promoting a title that was later delayed for almost another year. This year, as I am assuming, they are playing it a bit safer and, assuming, they are showing off a bit more of the demo for The Fractured But Whole that was shown off at E3. Read More...

Here's our review on how they did The story continues as the second episode of Minecraft: Story Mode new season has released and is out there for those who want to take each with a bit of break in-between and not binge the whole thing. Batman The release date for Batman: The Enemy Within's second episode has been set and it looks like another big Batman villain is joining in on the fun The first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within did an amazing job of bringing the story back to us and it looks like that will all continue on in very short order. Well, at least short order compared to other titles from Telltale Games that may take more than a few months to get out there. However, here we go with the second episode of Batman: The Enemy Within launching on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile device on September 26th. Read More...

Far Cry 5 Has Forced Baptismals & Fishing Mini-Games
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 22nd of August 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Far Cry 5 New gameplay for Far Cry 5 is out there from Gamescom and it shows off some of the mini-games of Far Cry 5 as well as other ways to save the innocent If you wanted more Far Cry 5 then you have it. In fact, we have a whole lot more of the game here in terms of gameplay as Ubisoft takes us all on an extended look at some of the current gameplay being floated around out there to show off many other aspects of the game. It has been released here for Gamescom, but as it sounds, this is a slice of footage from back as far as E3 when they were showing off Far Cry 5 during that show. None of it was seen by me personally so I have a feeling it was all "behind closed doors" or for "privileged media" to experience, but now it is here and adds in a few things that we may or may not have wanted for the game.
