Let Us Talk About Addiction And Video Games
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Monday, 24th of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Video Games All of us can be addicted to video games so let's discuss the Neil Robertson case and video games A news story that’s been popping up all day is of former world Snooker champion Neil Robertson’s addiction to video games. Some games like Dark Souls do have a strange addictive tendency with the rewarding sensation giving to a player after a long hard fought victory. I’m not a student of psychology though and this topic has been brought up enough over the years I have looked into it. My conclusion is that it’s not the video games that are addicting; it’s generally dependent on the type of person you are. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 4/17/17 — 4/21/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of April 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week One more week of 2017's video games in the bag and as it has seemed every week so far, it was a huge one. So many things popped up and so many things have yet to be discussed on the site here. We saw a whole lot more for Injustice 2's fighters, we're getting ever so ready for Prey, There was a whole lot for Friday The 13th, and then we had the Call Of Duty: WWII bombshell dropped. All of which means that next week is going to be pretty much off the hook when it comes to all things video games. Read More...

Things Seem To Be Changing For Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Ancestors It looks like Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is no longer set to be episodic and it is going to let us dictate how our Ancestors came to be Just about two years ago we had a tease for a new game called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. This was the new project that Patrice Desilets (Assassin's Creed) and team over at Panache Digital Games was working on that would take us on a third-person action-adventure through the process of human evolution. All done in a form of a documentary of sorts as we watch and help guide our Ancestors through everything from the very beginning of it all to our current age. All in an episodic form that was assumed to have each major era be a different episode. Read More...

Call Of Duty Is Going Back To Its Roots With Call Of Duty: WWII
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of April 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Call Of Duty The next Call Of Duty title has been officially announced and we are going back to the franchise's roots with Call Of Duty: WWII Back at the beginning of the year we had a nice little tease on what to expect for the next edition of the Call Of Duty franchise. There was a lot of speculation and thoughts that Sledgehammer Games hid clues in said teaser but it was all guessing and nothing completely solid as of yet. Yet being the key word here as Activision has announced today that we will be getting Call Of Duty: WWII as our next major title in the franchise and that it all will be going back to its roots as it were. I'm guessing just in terms of the era but there could be much more than that I guess. Read More...

Will Blood Be Thicker Than Water In The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of April 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead The fourth episode of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier has been given a release date and it looks like we'll be back in The Walking Dead a lot sooner than we thought Talk about a turnaround for The Walking Dead: A New Frontier and how Telltale is going to bring it to us as it looks like the fourth episode of the game will be out on April 25th now. Yes, that is only a few days away from right now and it brings them back on par with how they have been handling many of their other recent titles. I won't lie that I was a bit let down with the three month gap from the two episode premiere of this season of The Walking Dead but hopefully this will stay the trend for Telltale Games as we press forward with this IP and all the others they are bringing us. This Week In Video Games 4/10/17 — 4/14/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of April 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go with one more week of video games in the bag. As it seems every week for quite some time now, it too was a pretty solid week in news and updates for us over here. We had a massive drop of information for Injustice 2, a lot more gameplay for Prey and Outlast 2, and then there was the plethora of reviews again with Bulletstorm getting into the mix there. These were only a small taste of the video games we had a chance to get to as well, but that is how these weeks seem to usually go. Read More...

Review We sit down and review She Assault Android Cactus and Western Press. It's time to duel! Reach for the sky! Here's our review of both smaller titles Last year a gem or two slipped past me and I never got around to reviewing them. You may have heard of these little games since they have gone on to garner much critical acclaim. I have since gone back and started playing them again and now they're ready for review. I am sure if you made your way to this article then you already know which games I am referring too, but if you don’t they are Assault Android Cactus and Western Press. Read More...

Review — She Remembered Caterpillars
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Monday, 10th of April 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
She Remembered Caterpillars We sit down and review She Remembered Caterpillars. Beautiful, but lacking in fun. Here's our review of She Remembered Caterpillars She Remembered Caterpillars is an indie puzzle game that was released at the beginning of the year that I only recently discovered. It is developed Jumpsuit Entertainment, a small German team, and as far as I can see this is the team's first game together. I felt like it could do with a review. The gameplay for She Remembered Caterpillars isn’t anything special. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 4/3/17 — 4/7/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of April 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week This has sure been some amazing week for video games now hasn't it? Not only for the industry but also for us over here as it was another heavy review week with things from Horizon Zero Dawn to The Walking Dead and a few others in between. We also had a lot of cool things to see for Injustice 2 again and more for Prey as both of those titles get even closer to releasing next month. More video games to play and not enough time to do it. Review — The Walking Dead: A New Frontier — Above The Law
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead We sit down and review The Walking Dead: A New Frontier — Above The Law. This is the third episode of Telltale's continuation on their version of The Walking Dead. Here's our review on how they did It has been some time since the last two episodes for The Walking Dead: A New Frontier were launched. I was hopeful that the back to back releases of the episodes were a sign that Telltale Games was going to get this season out there rather quickly. Sadly that was not the case as it was three months until the third episode for this season of The Walking Dead to release, but release it has. Read More...

Review — Horizon Zero Dawn
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Thursday, 6th of April 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Horizon Zero Dawn We sit down and review Horizon Zero Dawn. An open world, post-apocalyptic, robot dinosaurs hunting game. Here's our review of Horizon Zero Dawn In Horizon Zero Dawn you play as Aloy who grows up as an outcast, and an orphan, raised in the wilderness by a man named Rost. He teaches to how to hunt and survive in the wild. One thing that kind of bugged me on a personal level was the names that Guerrilla Games came up with. I get what Guerrilla was trying to do with “Rost” as rust, “Aloy” as alloy, but even simple names from people before the apocalypse have dumb names. Read More...

Review — Bear With Me: Episode One
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Tuesday, 4th of April 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Slime-San We sit down and review Bear With Me: Episode One. Dive in to the detective thriller of the century. Here's our review of Bear With Me: Episode One Bear With Me: Episode One has been pretty much an obsession for me. I’ve had rocky experiences with point and click adventure games over the years. Some are so simple it’s not even fun, then some are masochistically hard from making no logical sense. Why would kicking over a rock in the garden, causing you to stumble back, fall into the pool so that the sun can bounce off the waves, and that somehow blinds the cat causing him to jump from his perch on top the coat rack and brush the lock on the door to open it? This Week In Video Games 3/27/17 — 3/31/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 31st of March 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go with yet another week in video games in the bag. A nice strong week at that as we started out with a great review for Mass Effect: Andromeda and still managed to not have any of the April Fool's Day bullshit mixed in. I can't talk about tomorrow or the following days but maybe we'll see something great for Injustice 2 or Prey for some reason. That is unless all of this week's updates and news for our video games was a huge prank and then we could call it all a wash and start over. Read More...

Jump For Joy As We Happy Few Gets Another Major Update & Area To Explore
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 31st of March 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
We Happy Few The second major update for We Happy Few has been released and this one adds in some requested items as well as adding to We Happy Few a new area to explore Great news for all of those gamers out there still enjoying We Happy Few. It looks like there is now even more to enjoy as a new major update for the game has been pushed out there that adds a whole new area to explore and quest on. Not only that, but some other great things have been added into the mix so that you can now stop pestering Compulsion Games for a bit so they can double down on making We Happy Few a final project and not an early access thing that we have right now. When you force the developers to look at things that could be left alone for now it only pushes the final launch out just that much further. Read More...
