New details and screen shots for Resident Evil Revelations 2 have been released from Capcom and it looks like another episodic adventure So Resident Evil Revelations 2 was announced and a few bits of information about the game were spilled through various means but it looks like the horse's mouth, Capcom, has given us more than expected for this upcoming title. The biggest of all being that Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be continuing the episodic structure that we have all come to see in our zombie games. The only big difference here is that each new episode should only be about a week apart from each other. Read More...

Xbox Entertainment Studios May Be Shutting Down Before It Even Starts
by Kenton Winkfield [ Friday, 18th of July 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Recent reports say that the studio will be closing as a part of a restructuring that will result in 18,000 Xbox employees being laid off News surfaced today that Xbox Entertainment Studios, the new studio that was to produce several Xbox original TV shows, will be shutting down permanently. The company began in 2012 with the vision to create interactive television content for Xbox Live subscribers. The studio looked to solidify its domination of the home entertainment industry by having their own original programming that can be accessed just as easily as Netflix or Hulu through consumer's Xbox Ones. With one announcement of a live-action Halo television show with Steven Spielberg producing it. Read More...

Insomniac Games Is Experimenting With Slow Down Bull
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Insomniac Games has announced that they are experimenting with the open development process with a new 'indie' title Slow Down Bull We've seen a bit of "open development" with other studios but it looks like Insomniac Games is giving it a go with Slow Down Bull. By open development I am talking about how some studios have been live streaming the process or conducting Google Hangouts to get gamer feedback as they move forward in the process. This is just the case for Slow Down Bull as it will consist of a team of four to five members of the Insomniac crew making this little PC title over the course of "until it is done". Not much is known for Slow Down Bull as of yet as it was just announced with nothing more than a concept of some key art but here's what we got. Read More...

Mind Freak Title Neverending Nightmares Needs To Come Sooner
by Andrew "Irradiccus" Franks [ Monday, 14th of April 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A brief history of Neverending Nightmares and what it took to bring us an amazing demo and release window. An artist can always use his bleakest moment to shine, they can take the pain, the agony, distraught even the misery they accumulate then create their unique masterpiece with blood, sweat and tears. Matt Gilgenbach’s latest accomplishment Neverending Nightmares is the result of this formula. Suffering from both OCD and depression he wanted to create an experience that was personal to him; an experience that allowed you to step into the shoes of those who suffer from these mental illnesses. From The People Who Brought You Guacamelee!… Here's Severed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
DrinkBox Studios has announced there next title, Severed, and we have a trailer. When I hear the name Severed for a game title I automatically think survival horror or something alike. DrinkBox Studios apparently has a different idea with a FPS gesture based fantasy game. Quite a different stretch given the title but I was a huge fan of Guacamelee! that I will be willing to give it chance given my odd expectations. In fact, let us take a look at the first trailer for Severed and see how it is looking and how the gameplay will pan out a bit. Read More...

Shock And Awe At The Power And Utility Given With The Unreal Engine 4. We've Seen The Final Project. Now See How It Was Done. Time to take a little side trip away from the normal hustle and bustle of gaming and go down the avenue of how some of our favorite games, or soon to be favorite games, are made. I think any of us would be hard pressed to not be able to name a title made via the Unreal Engine. If you have to think too hard on that then you must turn in your 'Gamer Card' now. Read More...

Now that you are all excited let me point out the piss in your Cheerios there. After watching the whole reveal it looks like there is a lot more focus on making the Xbox One a home entertainment system instead of a gaming console. Read More...

Pre-PAX East Speculations
by Fred Buell [ Monday, 18th of March 2013 - 11:21 PM ]
With PAX East less than a week away let's get a look at everything going down this coming weekend. Firstly, we have the recently re-announced Saints Row 4 from Volition and their new owners Deep Silver. Nothing about this game aside from the release date and a fluff trailer has been shown. What do you expect from the newest installment of the Saints franchise? Personally I expect the game to be even more insane, with hopefully a deeper customization, as I felt Saints Row III pulled back a bit from we had in Saints Row II. Also, Deep Silver is showing off the new installment of Dead Island franchise, Dead Island: Riptide. Read More...

Review: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 23rd of February 2013 - 12:06 AM ]
When one hears anything Metal Gear you usually think "Tactical Espionage" style of game. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance deviates from that to an extreme, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. While it all takes place in the same game universe, MGR:R tries a bit of difference with an action packed style of game play. How does it work out? Well read on. Read More...

Review: Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of November 2012 - 06:58 PM ]
It's been six years since we got the damn decent video game movie Silent Hill. Now we fans can rejoice as Silent Hill: Revelation is here. Given the down time we should expect something along the same quality correct? Well I got to check it out, so if you are on the fence about seeing it yourself, let me give you a nudge one way or another. The Story: Years after the events of Silent Hill we follow the tale of Heather and Harry Mason, or as you might remember them Sharon and Christopher Da Silva. They are on the run for reasons to be revealed in the film. Read More...

Review: Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
by Kenton Winkfield [ Monday, 22nd of October 2012 - 10:01 PM ]
The first time I heard the name Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, I immediately thought to myself, “Oh God, what am I getting into.” Once again I am not disappointed. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is a platformer/shooter like that of the golden age. Combining beautiful backdrops, stimulating puzzles, and fast-paced firefights, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken gives just enough challenge to keep any player entertained and on edge. The story Follows Hardboiled Chicken, The Cock of War, must rise against Putski, the evil penguin dictator. I couldn’t make that up if I wanted to. Read More...

E3 2012 Hands On: Neverwinter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of June 2012 - 11:29 PM ]
Talk about another title that wasn't on my radar until I got a chance to sit down and actually have some good hands on with. The title in the instance is Neverwinter. Another attempt at making the perfect version of Dungeons&Dragons into an interactive video game. In this attempt though, I feel that they are just about spot on with what I was able to play. Just as a heads up, I was only able to get handsie with the Wizard class, although it felt more like a Sorcerer. The first thing I have to say that impressed me was the fact that the game deviates from the "tab" based combat system and takes on a very active based one. Read More...
