Gaming To A Whole New Level In Vegas
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 03:34 PM ]
Clearwire officially launches WiMax in Las Vegas When you think of Las Vegas and Gaming, the first place you go is to the table game and gambling. It is the staple in Vegas. But it looks like soon, like in a few weeks, gaming could take a slight twist in the town. At least as it comes to online portable gaming. Maybe make the town a bit more family friendly. Who knows? Release Tuesday 7-7-09
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 08:53 PM ]
Today is Release Tuesday version 7.7.09 and it brings a few new games into our collection. My favorite (and perhaps I'm a tad bit biased about this) is the Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (episode 1). The game keeps its predecessors' sense of humor, adventure, and it's complex-yet-simple puzzles. The original VO cast returns as well, as does Michael Land, who was the composer of the previous games' soundtracks. The game is the first part in five 4-5 hour episodes that will be released monthly. Read More...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (Deadpool)
by Jesse [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 03:19 PM ]
There’s a reason they call Deadpool the “Merc with a Mouth”, the guy literally never shuts up, even when his head has been removed from the rest of his body. He is by far the most insane character in comics which makes it a little hard to believe any one of his possible backstories. Generally it is known that he was born to a father who served in the United States Army eventually rising to the rank of general. His mother had died due to a terminal illness when Deadpool, real name Wade Wilson, was a young boy. Wade joined the army when he was older enlisting with the Special Forces. Read More...

Early Zombie Plans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2009 - 07:43 PM ]
L4D2 Multiplayer Demo Wanna get to play Left 4 Dead 2 a little early? Well at least the Multiplayer aspect of the game, as if there is any other form of the game. I jest. But in any instance, Valve has a way for you to get your hands on the game a few weeks before the full launch on the 17th of November this year. It is another to contrite either and for both console and PC versions of the game. How? Read More...

Real View From Hell
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2009 - 03:36 PM ]
Gameplay Footage Of Dante's Inferno Finally what we got to see behind closed doors at E3 for Dante's Inferno can be seen by the public. Well kind of. We were able to see more of a solid stream of action on a few levels and not a mash up of scenes and actions that go on in the following video. But you will be able to get the full gist of what the gameplay looks like and kind of a feel of how it will play. Now that you've seen some of the action, with lava replaced for blood for children's sake, what do you think of Dante's Inferno? Am I right in my assessment of it being God of War with just the one Christian god being the source instead of a full pantheon? Read More...

What's to do when your company posts a $431 million loss? Leave! Which is exactly what Scott Guthrie did about a month ago. Also joining MTV Games as Senior Vice President of Sales is David Cox the former Senior Director, Sales, and Merchandising Executive at SCEA. “With our acquisition of Harmonix to our relationship with Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Inc., MTV Games has quickly risen to become one of the top five video gaming publishers. Mark Jacobs Leaves EA, Puts BioWare in charge
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 25th of June 2009 - 03:14 PM ]
Looks like EA is forming a new group specifically focusing on RPG and MMO games. What this new group will be called has not yet to have been announced. Of course with a creation of a new group that means there will be some shifting of power and responsibility. Mark Jacobs was the co-founder and general manager of Mythic and left EA on June 23rd 2009. Mark was not only a general manager but also a lead designer on Warhammer Online and Dark Age of Camelot! Mark will be replaced by Ray Muzyka who is the co-founder and general manager of the all powerful BioWare. Read More...

EA Sports Unveils Cover Athlete for NHL 10
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 24th of June 2009 - 08:53 PM ]
Honestly the way the 2008-09 NHL season went, there were probably a dozen different players who could have been a safe bet to be on the cover of the upcoming NHL 10. There’s often very little reason not to include Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, and Sidney Crosby who finished 1, 2, 3 respectively in scoring this year. Players like Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf, and Marc Savard cemented there positions among the elite in the NHL by having stellar years also. On the goaltending front Tim Thomas was probably the story of the year having struggled for so long to make it into the NHL, he led the Boston Bruins to 1st place in the Eastern Conference with 36 wins helping him win the Vezina Trophy as best goaltender in the process. ‘THE PUNISHER: NO MERCY’ BRINGS DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO THE PLAYSTATION®NETWORK With Transformers giving you the explosions and fireworks to start of the 4th of July (United States Holiday), ZEN Studios figured they would give PSN users the Bang. Yes, that was a bad stretch to get this worked in, but who cares what you think?* It worked for a good lead into what this is all about. Before you skip on to read the release below, let me sum it up for you. Read More...

*UPDATE* Left 4 Dead 2 for the PS3?
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 21st of June 2009 - 04:04 PM ]
"But wait I thought Left 4 Dead was an XBox/PC exclusive and Valve is not a huge fan of the PS3?" You are correct on that view. At E3 when Valve announced that there will be a sequel for this zombie-fest of a game a lot of people were a bit surprised that Valve is releasing the sequel so quickly. But is the game also going to be appearing for the PS3? According to EA official website, not only did they list the game for the PS3 as a “Coming Soon”, but also a cover art for the PS3 version of the game. Read More...

It is beginning to look a lot like XMAS
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Friday, 19th of June 2009 - 08:50 PM ]
It's no secret that Blizzard has been playing around and changing dates for the epic release of Star Craft II. Well great news for fans. In a recent interview with the Swedish Press2Play.TV, Star Craft II looks to be having a Holiday release at the end of this year if things are "ready". "We don't like to ship our games unless they're ready, but we're trying our best to get it out before the end of the year" Blizzard admits. "But it's inevitably up to the fans to tell us when it's ready." When asked about the Beta, Blizzard didn't give a direct response but they did say "We're not years away... Read More...

BackBreaker
by Kevin [ Monday, 15th of June 2009 - 03:42 AM ]
There are the Madden purists out there, there always will be. I cannot consider myself one of them because for all of the "innovations" EA throw into the Madden games - it will always be the same experience for me. Since EA secured the NFL license, there's been false start after false start for competitors to the gridiron throne. I give all the credit in the world to Blitz: The League and the 2k series for creating some compelling gameplay, but because of either: dated gameplay and graphics, or leaning too much on novelty gameplay, they were never able to achieve the same numbers of units sold. Here's hoping BackBreaker becomes a serious contender. Read More...
