Epic Fail
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 08:12 PM ]
It was a sweltering summer afternoon, my friend Curt and I were sheltered by an air conditioner on full blast. Inside our sanctuary we spent countless days acquiring callouses and sores on our thumbs as we played endlessly the games of our childhood. One moment in particular stands out from the rest, after many hours and a few dozen restarts Curt and I managed to make it to the final stage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project for the Nintendo Entertainment System. An eruption of joy and excitement exploded inside me. Too young to control the sudden burst of joy, I jumped off my bed and screamed "YEAH! Read More...

Review: X-Men: Destiny
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 05:55 PM ]
I am both a fan of X-men and comic books in general. I have many fond memories of playing the four-player, beat-em up style Konami arcade game back in the 80's and I have spent more than a few hours playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with my buddies. Silicon Knights' newest title, X-Men: Destiny, should have been a no-brainer - backed by such a great concept as it boasted being the next great brawling action game where you could create the mutant you always believed should be in this universe. Unfortunately due to its execution, the game becomes really diluted, which knocks it down a few notches on the likeability scale. Before the game starts, the game will ask you to choose one of three distinct characters - each with their own minor story line. Read More...

By Mennen! A New Episode Of Nuka Break Slipped Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of October 2011 - 09:48 PM ]
I've been insanely busy over the last few days, but it looks like the next chapter on Fallout: Nuka Break just hit like the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Only that unlike TWD, F:NB doesn't fully pick up where we last left off. Be it because of some shady stuff the producers and writers don't want us knowing yet or be that I missed something. In either instance, the whole story picks back up well after the group has left town. Also while Scarlet's old slaver is planning a reclamation plan elsewhere in the world. Read More...

If you read our previous article about XBox Live and Its new TV streaming service then you already know that and XBox Live Gold account will be required to access most of these new features. Well in a screen shot today submitted by a reader over at GiantBomb AT&T U-verse is actually crediting users who want to use the XBox Live feature the cost of a single year's subscription. A little out of character for AT&T but hey I'll take what I can get. The big deal here is that AT&T U-verse was available to all Silver members and will now require a Gold membership to partake in all the entertainment features. Read More...

Tribes: Ascend Closed Beta Is Just Around The Corner *UPDATE*
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 10th of October 2011 - 10:02 PM ]
According to an interview with Todd Harris the COO of Hi-Rez Studios has announced a closed beta for Tribes: Ascend will begin November 4th! The confirmation came during an interview with Cyberlink. I got my hands-on with Tribes: Ascend at this year's Quakecon: 2011 and it is as close to the original that any game could get. Large 16 multiplayer maps, armor and weapon load outs and a disc-launcher that would make any FPS proud. The biggest hook is that this is team based combat and it really shows on these large maps. So What Did You Think About Rage?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 10th of October 2011 - 06:23 PM ]
Now that Id Software's new IP is out, what do you guys think about it?I was thoroughly impressed with the demo Id showed off earlier this year at PAX East and eagerly waited for its release in August, but sadly it was pushed back to October. I was perfectly ok with that since I knew the finished product was going to blow my mind into oblivion, but I guess it is safe to say that I'm slightly disappointed. Now don't get me wrong, Rage is still a fun game for me to play, but I was expecting a lot more. I guess the hype got my head in the clouds. Read More...

You've Got To Be Kidding Me. New Mortal Kombat Film In The Works
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of October 2011 - 03:48 PM ]
Please gods don't let there be another video game film craze coming again. Earlier this week we found out Dead Island has been optioned for a featured film. Now, Mortal Kombat is getting the same treatment. Yes, another Mortal Kombat film is in the works. Although it has potential to be really good but only if things work out as alluded to. Apparently things went way better for the Web Series that was directed by Kevin Tancharoen than Warner Bros. expected. Read More...

Did Twig Just Get His Nuka Break?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of September 2011 - 08:46 PM ]
It's been two weeks again so it is time for the new episode of Fallout: Nuka Break. It is also time to see how the cliff hanger from last episode is going to work itself out. You know the one where the whole crew was ambushed in the middle of town. Crazy guy in a huge top hat? You know and if not go watch the last episode. Without giving too much away, it does look like the whole premise of the series has come to a close. Or at least the basic one. Read More...

All You Ever Wanted To Know About NBA 2K12 Before Launch
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of September 2011 - 04:26 PM ]
Earlier this week, (9/28/11) in a small, dark room I was invited to a Q/A session with a couple of the people behind NBA 2K12. Those people being Erick Boenisch, producer of NBA 2K12, and Mike Wang, senior game play designer. The small, dark room being my office since this was over a conference call. None the less though it was a fun filled experience that will give all of you sports fans out there a bit more about the game. There is really too much to go into here without having a multipage article here so I will allow most of the answers come from the below recording. Read More...

EA has announced that they are working with Klei Entertainment on a sequel to Shank, simply titled "Shank 2" at this point. After killing the criminals who betrayed him, former mob hit man Shank must protect his loved ones from the mob he once worked for. So far no release date has been given, but we can surely expect this one to come out sometime in 2012. I never played the first Shank but I have heard nothing but good things, plus the game looked pretty awesome. Well here are some screen shots and an announcement trailer, enjoy. Read More...

Usually fans wait patiently to find out who will be this year's guest and Blizzard has really outdone themselves.
