I am both a fan of X-men and comic books in general. I have many fond memories of playing the four-player, beat-em up style Konami arcade game back in the 80's and I have spent more than a few hours playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with my buddies. Silicon Knights' newest title, X-Men: Destiny, should have been a no-brainer - backed by such a great concept as it boasted being the next great brawling action game where you could create the mutant you always believed should be in this universe. Unfortunately due to its execution, the game becomes really diluted, which knocks it down a few notches on the likeability scale. I've been insanely busy over the last few days, but it looks like the next chapter on Fallout: Nuka Break just hit like the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Only that unlike TWD, F:NB doesn't fully pick up where we last left off. Be it because of some shady stuff the producers and writers don't want us knowing yet or be that I missed something. If you read our previous article about XBox Live and Its new TV streaming service then you already know that and XBox Live Gold account will be required to access most of these new features. Well in a screen shot today submitted by a reader over at GiantBomb AT&T U-verse is actually crediting users who want to use the XBox Live feature the cost of a single year's subscription. A little out of character for AT&T but hey I'll take what I can get. According to an interview with Todd Harris the COO of Hi-Rez Studios has announced a closed beta for Tribes: Ascend will begin November 4th! The confirmation came during an interview with Cyberlink. I got my hands-on with Tribes: Ascend at this year's Quakecon: 2011 and it is as close to the original that any game could get. Large 16 multiplayer maps, armor and weapon load outs and a disc-launcher that would make any FPS proud. The biggest hook is that this is team based combat and it really shows on these large maps. Now that Id Software's new IP is out, what do you guys think about it?I was thoroughly impressed with the demo Id showed off earlier this year at PAX East and eagerly waited for its release in August, but sadly it was pushed back to October. I was perfectly ok with that since I knew the finished product was going to blow my mind into oblivion, but I guess it is safe to say that I'm slightly disappointed. For the past couple of weeks, there have been a lot of rumors circulating the web that TV was coming to theXbox. Microsoft and Xbox's own Major Nelson, have Confirmed what players have anxiously been waiting for. Microsoft has teamed up with 40 entertainment providers to bring players all the TV you can stomach to your Xbox 360. The list of providers ranges from HBO Go, Syfy and Cartoon Network to full on providers like Verizon FiOS and Comcast. Earlier this week, (9/28/11) in a small, dark room I was invited to a Q/A session with a couple of the people behind NBA 2K12. Those people being Erick Boenisch, producer of NBA 2K12, and Mike Wang, senior game play designer. The small, dark room being my office since this was over a conference call. EA has announced that they are working with Klei Entertainment on a sequel to Shank, simply titled "Shank 2" at this point. After killing the criminals who betrayed him, former mob hit man Shank must protect his loved ones from the mob he once worked for. So far no release date has been given, but we can surely expect this one to come out sometime in 2012.
