E3 2010: Stock full of Trailers
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 03:39 PM ]
So apparently, waiting was not on the agenda in the days prior to E3 opening.  What I mean by that is just the other day on Spike TV - they had their pre-E3 show where they showed a lot of the new trailers that previously, we would have had to wait until the actual show to see these trailers. But since we all live on the Internet, instant gratification is all we have time for anymore. So here you guys go with bunch of trailers of Socom 4, Killzone 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Dead Space 2, Devils Third, Gran Turismo 5 and Shank. Hope you all enjoy. Read More...

Dead Space 2 Cover Art Revealed
by Brian Goodman [ Saturday, 5th of June 2010 - 09:40 PM ]
I guess there isn't much else to say besides what is in the title. Here is a link to the tweet just released from the official Dead Space Twitter account. You can also see the art at the bottom of this post. About a year and a half ago ago I bought the first Dead Space used in the bargain bin, looking to kill some time. I wasn't expecting to, but I personally really enjoyed the first Dead Space. It wasn't very scary, nor did it have a very original plot, but it functioned very well with above average mechanics and fantastic graphics. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 26th of May 2010 - 03:11 PM ]
We've seen all sorts of possible ports of games onto the iPad and iPod Touch, but now for the first time we get a full gaming station emulated entirely through the iPad and iPod Touch combo, that leaves Nintendo players salivating for more Super Nintendo games. Where the Woozle Wasn't brings us probably one of the best SNES emulators on the iPad that I've seen in a long time. Using an iPod Touch as a controller, connected via blue tooth,to the iPad, you can have up to four players at a time playing your favorite Super Nintendo games. Using the iPhone port by ZodTTD, iPad owners can now enjoy there favorite Nintendo games right in the comfort of there own laps! Read More...

Does Super Hero Squad Online Appeal To You?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of May 2010 - 05:29 PM ]
Well here you go true believers. Officially debuting on the great internets is the trailer for Marvel Super Hero Squad Online. Gods that is a long ass title. From here on it will be, MSHSO. Long title or no, that doesn't disregard the fact that now we can take a look at one of the rendered videos for MSHSO. At least what looks like an intro to the game that isn't coming out until next year sometime. So they have time to shorten the title or find something catchy. Read More...

Red Dead Redemption: First Impressions And Thoughts
by Brian Goodman [ Friday, 21st of May 2010 - 09:41 PM ]
Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar San Diego's newly released sandbox genre game. Despite many delayed release dates, reports of troubled working conditions, and an overblown development budget making profitability unlikely, the game has come out to much critical acclaim and rightly so. Red Dead Redemption is a sequel to the 2004 XBox and PS2 release Red Dead Revolver. Red Dead Redemption stars outlaw turned government agent John Marston. The Clint Eastwood-like spaghetti western plot revolves around Mr. Read More...

Dead Space Lets You Kill Babies Like Dante
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of May 2010 - 08:59 PM ]
Visceral Games just likes killing babies. Or at least that is how it seems from their games. First you get to slaughter the unbaptized ones in Dante's Inferno. Now, for the screens below, it looks like you get to kill "infected" babies in Dead Space 2. Infected and with Cthulhu growing out their back babies. Ok, well those ones need killing I guess... What also needs killing is the person who took these screen captures as well. Read More...

Review: Kick-Ass The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of May 2010 - 07:15 PM ]
The comic and film of this intellectual property have come and gone. Both spectacular in their own right. If you have yet to read or see either, do both. But what if you have done one or both already? Well did you know there is a video game version of Kick-Ass for the PSN and iPhone? There most certainly is. Why wouldn't there be, as merchandising is a great way to make more money off a great franchise. It is the capitalist way after all. Read More...

Civilization Gets Steamed Up
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 6th of May 2010 - 05:12 PM ]
Normally I would have some sort of opening line for many of my articles, but today I got nothing. Maybe its because I am really excited about what I am about to report to you, and that will be 2K Games and Valve have announced an agreement to power all PC versions of Sid Meier's Civilization V with many of Steamworks' features and offer a special Digital Deluze Edition via Steam. Those who pre-order the Regular or Deluxe edition will be rewarded with a free map pack when the game is released later. So whats the difference between the Regular Edition and the Deluxe Edition. by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 4th of May 2010 - 08:38 PM ]
With the success of God of War III, Sony has just announced that our favorite Spartan will be making his return to the Sony PSP and PSPgo in God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Why are they making another God of War game you may ask? Probably going to kill more Greek Gods. God of War: Chains of Olympus is still the highest rated PSP title of all-time according to Metacritic.com. So what is in store for us this time around. Read More...

Review: Dead to Rights: Retribution
by Kevin [ Monday, 3rd of May 2010 - 05:35 PM ]
Dead to Rights: Retribution is a third person action title following vice cop Jack Slate and his groin-ravaging, canine companion Shadow as they uncover the seedier threats that are rising against an already seedy Grant City. Essentially, it is a re-imagining of the franchise that began with very basic, but very fun run and gun gameplay with a hint of John Woo-style dramatics. The sequel to the original, Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay, moved the series from all the aforementioned positives into an area of monotony and outright brokenness. It took the ideas of the first game, which were actually pretty fresh amidst most of the titles out at the time, and did absolutely nothing with them. Read More...

Games in a Flash - Star Studded
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 27th of April 2010 - 10:28 PM ]
Today we have a Star Studded Games in a Flash article for your leisure. So lets just get right into it. Beer Pong Late night with Jimmy Fallon is no stranger to beer pong, or video games, but now you can play against Higgens, Qestlove and ultimately Jimmy himself in the ultimate beer pong challenge. Jimmy Fallon has been a huge video game promoter with his late night TV Show, so we have to at least give his first flash game a bit of credit here at Aggrogamer. Gameplay: This game requires very little thought, like real beer pong, and really good timing/aim. Read More...

Brian G Asks: WTF is up with DLC?
by Brian Goodman [ Monday, 26th of April 2010 - 04:20 PM ]
It's an exciting time to be a gamer because there is definitely a lot of pivotal stuff going on in our industry right now. Today I want to go on about a reasonably new development of an old concept. Expansion packs have been around since the mid 90's in the PC world. Back when the PC dinosaurs ruled the video game landscape (and just about any game could be played on any computer without a video card that costs more than a PS3), if there was a successful game, a half a year or so later we would see an expansion pack. People who enjoyed a game could purchase more content for around $20 to $30-ish. Don't quote me on this, but the first expansion in my memory was the level add on pack for Doom II released in 1995 called "Doom II Master Levels. Read More...
