Hell Or Rapture?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of September 2009 - 04:48 PM ]
Damn you 2K and EA! Damn you both to Tartarus! Jokingly that is. But you both have made my February and thus Valentines Day/Desperation Day much more stressful than I was hoping for. Hopefully the little lady will understand why I am glued to my PS3 and PC. First Dante's Inferno and now BioShock 2 on 2/9/10. That's right. Just announced, BioShock 2 will be out simultaneously on all three platforms on the ninth day of February in our Lords 2010th year. Read More...

Call of Duty: Galactic Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of September 2009 - 02:45 PM ]
Now here is some friggin' dedication to two great franchises, Call of Duty and Star Wars. How much dedication? Well enough to do a total conversion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and replace all the locations, NPCs, and weapons with all things Star Wars. By all things Star Wars I'm talking the stuff from the good films. You know, numbers four to six in Lucas' messed up numbering system for so long ago. Something that is almost as bad as how Capcom use to be with Street Fighter. Read More...

Brütal PR Stünt
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of September 2009 - 07:59 PM ]
Unless you are new to Metal and the internet, you have heard of Brütal Legend. How could you have not with how much PR this game is getting. It was the topic of the entire two hour infomercial for Brütal legend and all things Jack Black Video Game Awards this year, which was just the start of it all. It has been a topic at every game and "geek" convention this year. You could not have missed a single thing for it. Read More...

Day 1 of Guitar Hero: Love Watch ...or is it day 2?
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 10th of September 2009 - 09:41 PM ]
No doubt you have read the "shocking" details of Courtney Love's acrid Twitter response to Kurt Cobain's likeness being used in Guitar Hero 5. Then, you were enthralled by the report of shots fired back by Activision that Love, in fact, was the individual who signed the contract to use the likeness. And THEN you no doubt realized...you don't care. Read More...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (Juggernaut)
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 9th of September 2009 - 09:38 PM ]
If there was ever a character designed to literally walk right through Charles Xavier’s X-men, it was the Juggernaut. Cain Marko was originally Charles’ older step-brother. A deep resentment for Xavier grew in Cain due to, among other things, Cain’s own father treating Xavier better than he did Cain. Of course this was merely a façade to keep Xavier’s mother happy. By marrying her, Cain’s father instantly gained access to the immense estate owned by Xavier’s father. Read More...

PAX 2009 Impression: Torchlight
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 6th of September 2009 - 02:30 AM ]
On October 27th 2009, Runic Games will be releasing an Action Role Playing Game called Torchlight.  Action RPG huh, so you mean like Diablo? Yes, just like Diablo. It’s not as dark, nor as scary as Diablo, but the feel and the controls of the game would make it Diablo-ish.  But they aren’t stopping there. Runic Games is planning on making the game into a MMO, a FREE to play MMO, but will not be available until sometime in the future. They will probably be like Blizzard and they will release it when it’s done, and not rush its release. Read More...

Review: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Episode 4: The Bogey Man
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2009 - 05:22 AM ]
If you wish to read my review of Episode 1: Fright of the Bumblebees and get more background, click here. My review of Episode 2: The Last Resort is here. The most recent, Episode 3: Muzzled! is here. All good things must come to an end, so they say. As it is in overused quotes, so it is with the delightful Wallace&Gromit's Grand Adventures from Telltale Games. This marks the fourth and final tale of England's favourite inventor and his clever canine companion. Alliteration aside, Episode 4: The Bogey Man closes up any holes left in the moderately overarching narrative of the tetralogy while leaving more than adequate room to follow up with a new story for this duo. Grand Theft Auto comes to iPhone and iPod touch
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 1st of September 2009 - 09:31 PM ]
Take2 interactive announced yesterday that they will be releasing Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the iPhone and iPod touch. With the release of the game on Nintendo DS, and PSP in late October, it’s no surprise that they are developing for the iPod touch/iPhone which is quickly becoming the next generation portable gamer system. I remember playing the original grand theft auto, and this new version is very reminiscent of that. The top-down, open-world style game play is really bringing back the roots of the original Grand theft auto. Read More...

Review: Guitar Hero 5
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 1st of September 2009 - 11:25 AM ]
So another one is out. I won't bother you with what Guitar Hero is, nor will I bore you with details about how the game is played, or whether it plays well. Yes, it plays well, and yes, it is same as it always has been, press the note on the bars then strum when the according color passes the bar. However, there are some new additions that make Guitar Hero 5 the best Guitar Hero yet. Party play is long overdue, and something that was almost added into Rock Band 1. Party play is just that, a mode for a party. Read More...

Kurt Cobain To Posthumously Play Guitar Hero 5
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 28th of August 2009 - 04:33 PM ]
Grunge and flannel: they go together like consoles&fanboys. Defining an entire decade of rock, grunge started the trend to move away from synth-pop, popular in the 80's, to a harder sound that emphasized the angst building in rebellion to 80's preppy style and trickle down economics. The earthier sounds and personalities of the grunge scene felt like you were watching a garage band down the street rather than the huge arenas and corporate heroes of pristine pop music and shiny glam-rock. Nirvana's release of Nevermind and the subsequent momentum shocked and appalled people as much as it enticed and enthralled. Their music was inspiring to a new generation of music listeners on a completely new medium, the Compact Disc. Read More...
