Games That Deserve Another Installment
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 22nd of May 2012 - 06:08 PM ]
After playing Double Dragon Neon I thought to myself "What other games should come out with a sequel?" and alas I composed this list. I hope you agree with the gist of them, if not leave a comment down below. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993) A loveable run and gun zombie game that came out for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Developed by LucasArts and published by Konami. Featuring over forty horrifyingly fun and difficult stages. Read More...

Death Strikes Again With A New Darksiders II CGI Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of May 2012 - 09:21 PM ]
Way back in March we got a nice little CGI trailer for Darksiders II. It was cool and beautiful, but it was only the first part of the promotional video. Lucky for us, below we have the next part of the clip which also leaves us wanting and waiting for the continuation of Death's badassitude. Yes it's a word. Deal with it. My only hope is that these kinds of clips will take over for the cut scenes in Darksiders II, at least for major scenes. Read More...

Review: Sniper Elite V2
by Fred Buell [ Tuesday, 1st of May 2012 - 06:15 PM ]
Rebellion Developments just gave us a "reboot" or "remake" of the 2005 shooter of the same name, Sniper Elite: V2 which takes place in the same time frame. This time rather than infiltrating the Nazi Army in disguise, you are a lone sniper against both the German and Russian WW2 militaries. Referencing the real life "Operation Paper," you must sneak behind lines and kill, or rescue, German scientists from creating and launching deadly V2 rockets. The game plays very smoothly; only on few occasions, and probably at my provoking the system, did I experience any spots of being stuck or absurd clipping. Sniper Elite plays as you would hope and expect any 3rd person shooter to play. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Borderlands 2
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 11th of April 2012 - 04:17 PM ]
Borderlands 2 is a massive improvement from the first installment. The controls are super smooth and tight. The feeling of level grinding seems to have disappeared, thankfully. Having other colors in the game, rather than just brown, has really showed off the rich and beautiful landscape that the world of Pandora has to offer. I got to play as the new Siren in the game: Maya. Her special ability stuns her enemies in a blackish purple vortex allowing you to get off some free shots. Read More...

What's The Deal With Online Passes?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of March 2012 - 10:57 PM ]
Online Passes are apparently the new "Gaming Fad" even thought the majority of us gamers really dislike the over abundance of these online passes, especially when companies like EA are already starting to show some sketchy business models towards online passes. I'm going to be one-hundred percent honest: I fucking hate online passes and here are some reasons why: Online Passes are a new and "pricey" way to battle online piracy and used game sales, the latter being a joke in my opinion. A simple one use serial code that is required for access to certain online content such as Multiplayer and Co-op modes, or unlocks bonus content for a game. Although certain games such as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Batman: Arkham City require an online pass even though they are single player games and withhold on disc game content from the consumer if an online pass is not purchased. Time To Gawk At The View Darksiders II Will Be Giving Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of March 2012 - 09:12 PM ]
I have to admit that every time there is something new for Darksiders II, visually, I find it a little hard to actually write something about it. I actually have a loss of words because the visuals of the clips and screens speak volumes more than I ever could and I am normally very long winded. This also makes me have to admit that when there is new stuff there is a delay on posting about it. Given all that, we have a new CGI Trailer as well as a newish Dev Diary for the game. The diary showing more or less the scale of the game world and some of the environments. Read More...

New Borderlands 2 Trailer Brings The 'WubWub'
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 27th of February 2012 - 05:38 PM ]
The guys over at Gearbox Software have released a new trailer for their upcoming sequel to their smash hit Borderlands simply titled Borderlands 2. I loved playing Borderlands, the questlines; the stories and the loot were all hilariously amazing. Not to mention it has one of my favorite zombie stories ever, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC which is just how a zombie story should be. The new trailer features a lot of "Wub Wub" dubstep garbage, but it can be easily muted via the volume bar on your player. Read More...

The Walking Dead Game Is Playing Dead, But Not Really
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of February 2012 - 05:20 PM ]
If you are a fan of the comics or the TV version of The Walking Dead then you might be excited to learn that there are a load of new details out for The Walking Dead Game from TellTale. By loads I am talking a nice 14+ minute "webisode" called Playing Dead and this is just the first of what can be assumed many episodes that cover everything that the studio is thinking of when it comes to making the game. If you don't want to listen to the entire episode here, let me give you a few bullet points on the new info. You will miss out on a few of the in game screen shots, but for the most part here is what is touched upon. Read More...

My Rock Band Recommendations
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 14th of February 2012 - 10:39 PM ]
If you guys don't already know I am an avid Rock Band player. I started playing rhythm games when the first Guitar Hero came out, and I've been playing ever since. Over the years I have sunk a lot of money into the DLC, at the moment I have two-hundred and thirteen downloaded songs and I wish to share my favorites with you guys. Hopefully I can persuade you into buying a song or two. Since I only play guitar on Rock Band, I can only vouch for guitar (sorry drummers, vocalists, bassists and keyboardist) I'll categorize my favorite by difficulty for guitar. Read More...

Darksiders The Novel Coming To A Store Near You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of February 2012 - 11:54 PM ]
Here's some interesting news for the gaming world here. It looks like there is a novel being written for the Darksiders franchise. The interesting part is that it doesn't seem to be linked to the story of the current games, which is Darksiders and Darksiders II, outside of the characters. Well at least not directly linked as the story will be taking place a millennia before the events of the first game. Here's the basic break down that we have at this time. In DARKSIDERS: THE ABOMINATION VAULT, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse (beings charged with maintaining the Balance between the forces of Heaven and Hell) have uncovered a plot to resurrect ancient weapons of unimaginable power. The Where's Waldo Edition Of Darksiders II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of January 2012 - 06:29 PM ]
No there isn't a new edition of Darksiders II being announced. But the new "Death Eternal" trailer for the game has that feel to it. After watching it the first time I felt like I needed to go back and play along with each new showing of Death in the background or foreground. It's a fun game to do here because the "trailer" doesn't show a single thing about the game and should be labeled more as just a marketing video. Outside of Death's mask being shown over and over and a pre-rendered character model at the end this video is more fluff than anything. Don't fret though. Read More...

by Irene Collazo [ Wednesday, 4th of January 2012 - 07:28 PM ]

While this isn't the first "rumor" that there was a sequel in the works, this is definitely more proof that the title is in the works for all of you out there who enjoyed Epic Mickey.
