A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go wrapping up this week of video games, even if we did dive into a few other things beyond all of that. Given that we just wrapped SDCC and we have Gamescom rolling up on us, it is a bit of a surprise we did not just get lost in all of it. With Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves adding into this week's fun too. I fully recommend looking in on Star Trek: Resurgence and a few of the other lesser-known video games we have coming down the pipes. Read More...

Pac-Man is almost here again with a look at how Pac-Man World Re-Pac brings the original back to full life again By the end of this month, many out there will be able to dive into Pac-Man World Re-Pac on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. So many platforms that you do not really have a good excuse as to why you would not have a chance to play what Now Production and Bandai Namco have for us. Then again, there could be that small group of gamers out there thinking they have already played Pac-Man World. Well, you would be correct, but this is a full remake of that classic game and now you can have a look at why you should be diving back in for it. Read More...

Meet Your Maker will be setting us all out there for a new twist to the gameplay loops and maybe force us to Meet Your Maker Here we go with a nice blending of first-person shooting and base-building gameplay with the reveal for Meet Your Maker. This is the next title that Behaviour is working on for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A title that will definitely have us doing more of the leg work to keep the game going longer than the developer. I say this as Meet Your Maker will be having us build most of the outposts, traps, and even enemy paths in the game's world. Read More...

Get ready to Drop Dead with the next big VR title on the way to us all with the teaser for Drop Dead: The Cabin Here we go back into another cabin the woods scenario with the tease and set up for Drop Dead: The Cabin to come to the Meta Quest out there. A new title that Soul Assembly is putting together that will have us surviving until dawn in a mysterious cabin in the woods with the VR space. Thankfully, it shifts away from the normal tropes and uses that other titles have been using for years so Drop Dead: The Cabin can try to stand on its own instead. Even if it still ends up with us trying to survive many waves of the undead while hunkered down in a cabin that is not what it seems. Read More...

Sherlock Holmes is coming back into action with a full remake for Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Your brain is not fully breaking, yes, we are getting a whole new version of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened out here in 2023. It has been some amount of time and not everyone was expecting it from what Frogwares was teasing out there, but a full remake of the game from so long ago is heading to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC when it is ready. All rebuilt from the ground up to use what the developer has learned over the years with their Sherlock Holmes titles and the most recent Cthulhu title The Sinking City. They are just getting mashed right together with a bit more of the story rewrites to make it all flow perfectly. Read More...

Get ready for a solid Hellsinger concert out at Gamescom wot help show us all more for Metal: Hellsinger The launch of Metal: Hellsinger is almost here with September 15th coming up quickly and so many out there experiencing the demo on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC as well. Take a walk around more of the gameplay that Saturnalia will be offering us all up when Saturnalia finally launches It has been a bit of a mystery as to what will be going on in Saturnalia beyond the basics of a weird town and a terrible monster hunting us all down out there. All of that and with an interesting art style that Santa Ragione has gone with to keep it fresh and the horrors a bit more obfuscated out there. Now, though, we have a look at the true way that Saturnalia is going to play once it hits the PC. It is not going to be just a basic rogue-lite title even if it is going to have some serious elements from those that we have enjoyed in the past. Read More...

Dead By Daylight is getting another Resident Evil update to give more killers and survivors to Dead By Daylight The teasing for the next set of survivors and killer coming to Dead By Daylight continues, but at least we have a bit more on how Resident Evil is working into it all again. This is nothing overly new since Behaviour made the announcement it was going to happen a while ago with the PROJECT W announcement that was made. Now, we get a better look at just what will be hitting Dead By Daylight from that IP sometime soon. Read More...

While at SDCC, I was able to see Star Trek: Resurgence in a more intimate setting. Here is my take on the latest for Star Trek: Resurgence It has been a bit of time since Star Trek: Resurgence was revealed to the world and showed that we could hold out hope to take command of a different vessel in the setting's universe. Not too much was revealed at that time, but it looks like that was for good reason with Dramatic Labs working hard to make sure the team's interactive storytelling pedigree was put to good use. That is why it was a solid treat to see some live gameplay for Star Trek: Resurgence out at SDCC this year, as well as getting to sit down with two of the game's writers Dan Martin and Andrew Grant. The Dungeons & Dragons tavern was in full form at SDCC to help celebrate Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves We brought it up just before SDCC that there was going to be a full tavern built to help promote the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film. All of that but also to give us all a bit of a taste of how the game is brought to life instead of just the theater of the mind that we have been going with for decades now. If you have played Dungeons & Dragons at all, I am sure you have had moments where you have been in some form of tavern or inn to help plan and recruit your party. There is a reason it is a trope for the game and we had a chance to walk around and enjoy some of the drinks out there at SDCC. Read More...

The chapters of Dying Light 2 are going to continue with the latest update from Dying Light 2’s Fish Eye It is time to head back into the Fish Eye after quite a bit of time since the last time we had any big update for Dying Light 2. Not that Techland has not been pushing good updates since the game launched out there, but the last big one was the first chapter of DLC that was pushed a bit back. It is something that so many players of Dying Light 2 have been hitting hard to keep the fun of the game flowing. Thankfully, this new update not only gives us more info on what is currently out there on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC, but it also gives a little tease as to what is to come for the next chapter in the works. Funko announced during SDCC that they were setting out to bring Funko further into the video game industry I am sure that by now most out there have heard of or are aware of Funko before now. That would be the company out there that makes all of those fun vinyl Pop! figures among many other nerd/geek culture collectibles out there. They have also dipped a bit of their toes in the past with some video games, but during SDCC this year, they let loose that they are teaming up to bring a full AAA title to the gaming community with the help of 10:10 Games. Not just in the way it has been before where other teams have made something in their universe while just using the Pop! Read More...

Another survival title, SERUM, is on the way with SERUM taking on some amazing features from some massive games If you enjoyed titles like The Forest and BioShock and thought they would work well if mixed together, then you will be amped up to see the announcement for SERUM. This is the latest title to come from Game Island and Toplitz Productions coming to the PC in 2023. That is still quite a ways out, but that gives us all the perfect amount of time to get ready for SERUM to suck us in and drive home more of the horror our video games can hold for us. As long as it is all done well and not just slapping two IP's ideas together and hoping it will all work. Read More...
