The world of Until Dawn is on the way back to us all, with the announcement that is here for Until Dawn 2 to frighten us
The world of horror is getting expanded just a bit more, with the announcement out there for Until Dawn 2. It has been a wild ride, and a bit of time since the IP had something truly new to give us, and it looks as if Firesprite is on the task to give it to us on the PS5 in 2027. Yes, that is a different studio from the one that gave us the game the first go around, but it does look as if they are taking the DNA of Until Dawn and amping it up for the new generation. At least, in terms of the gameplay and visuals. The same QTE and "choices matter" gameplay will still be at the crux of it all. That all said, let's see where this game is going to take us and if it is even a true sequel to what we had before.
The short answer is, no, this is not a true sequel to Until Dawn. Outside of having the same therapist character to bridge chapters together, the story doesn't seem to be linked to anything we have seen before. That's the first big deviation. The next one is that it looks as if Until Dawn 2 will be taking us all to a warmer climate and following a group of "ghost hunters" who are out there for the next big viral hit for the internet. That is when things will start to go wrong, and either the ghosts are real, or they have stumbled into an area that is filled with all kinds of other horrible things out there. Did you ever think that we were going to see a true Until Dawn 2 out there? Will this one only hold the basics of the game's DNA, so it can be called the same thing with a number 2 added on? Are they going to build this IP up into something similar to what the original team made before now?
