Take In The Atmosphere & Story On The Way For Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss

Cthulhu

Cthulhu is running a little more rampant in the story that is on the way to us all when Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss lands on all of our systems

The occult affairs in Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss are getting a little further fleshed out with more of the story on the way to us all for the game. A story that explains a bit more why we are in the depths we find ourselves in when Nacon brings the title that Big Bad Wolf has been working on to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A bit more of the broad story of the game and how it links into the Cthulhu mythology out there for those who cannot wait until April 16th for the title launch. Not to mention, all of something to get us excited to see the game land. Not to mention, the reason that we will need this AI companion in the mix of it all. That all said, let us dive into the story bits that have been released out there.

As the story goes, we are playing as Noah, an agent of Ocean-I who is a bit of a specialist in occult affairs. With things going wrong and the researchers working for Ocean-I going missing, Noah is called in to figure it all out. A good thing with all of the Cthulhu bits going on in the world here. Noah then finds that things are not as clear as the CEO of the company made them all out to be, and is now in for a wild ride. One that will take us all down some winding paths, solving puzzles, and facing pure madness in the mix of things in Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. Just as all good titles and stories using this mythology should have. Even if it is still not completely clear how insanity is going to function in the mix of all of this. Not that mental issues seem to do more than just make weird hallucinations come up on the screen in titles that deal with all of that. Have a look and see the latest for the game just a bit further down.

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss — Story

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss takes place in 2053. The player embodies Noah, an agent specializing in occult affairs. Our protagonist is sent to the depths of the Pacific Ocean to investigate the mysterious disappearance of researchers belonging to the Ocean-I company.

This new trailer, with its heavy atmosphere, reveals more about the research conducted worldwide by Ocean-I. A major discovery has led a team of scientists to the gates of the mythical city of R’lyeh.

With no news from them, Noah sets out on their trail and that of Andrew Marsh, CEO of Ocean-I. As he progresses through the city’s winding paths, the line between nightmare and reality blurs under the influence of the most powerful of cosmic creatures: Cthulhu. Between loss of sanity, ancient rituals, and cosmic monsters, this quest for truth comes at a price.

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss offers an investigation on a razor’s edge, where Noah must maintain his lucidity while thinking outside the box. Solving the puzzles in each chapter involves making important choices and leads players to dive ever deeper into the Lovecraftian mythos.

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a narrative investigation game inspired by the universe of Lovecraft. In this frightening first-person thriller, the player embodies Noah, an agent of the Ancile, an office specializing in occult affairs, investigating the mysterious disappearance of miners in the heart of the Pacific Ocean. His research will plunge him into the depths of the immense labyrinthine prison of R’lyeh, an ancient sunken city where Cthulhu is held captive. The player and their AI companion, KEY, will have to solve complex puzzles, make choices that will influence his destiny, and try to resist the corruption of the mind caused by the influence of Cthulhu.

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 16, 2026.

Do you think all of this will make sense in the game, or could this all be a way that Cthulhu is flooding into the other world out there? Why do you think that Noah will not just call it quits at the first signs of issue, or will we truly be lost in the depths with no safety? How do you expect the sanity of the character to break down, and will there be something more than just the basic screen glitches that will show all of that off? Let us have those thoughts in the comment section to discuss them all. There will be more for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss in the coming weeks, so please keep close to the site and all of our social channels out there. You do not want to be left in the dark on anything going on with this title. Especially when some crazy things could be going down in general.
