Bloodshed Will Be A New Currency In The Next Season Of The Outlast Trials

Outlast

The next big project for The Outlast Trials is on the way, with more of the religious overtones in the Outlast universe

A new prime asset is on the way out there to The Outlast Trials, with the next season of content coming to the game. Just when you thought you might have seen the end for what Red Barrels was going to put out there, we have Project Messiah to rise from the underground and give us a new predator. Along with that, we have a few more challenges, trials, maps, and cosmetics coming to The Outlast Trials. A title that is currently available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Hopefully, you all picked it up when it was out there for PlayStation+, so you can get ambushed by this new asset as soon as the update is ready for us all to partake in. Let us have a look at just what this will all mean for the game.

As mentioned, this new project will bring us yet another Prime Asset in The Outlast Trials, and this one is called Liliya Bogomolova: the Praying Mantis. Sister Liliya, for short. A character that has a look and feel of a Christian Nun dolled up in BDSM gear and blades where her hands should be. Something that would normally stand out, but once we get into the matches, we will find out that is not the case. That is, Sister Liliya is more of an ambush predator and will be hiding in plain sight as we try to survive the various new challenges out there. Hiding among the various mannequins that will be in the maps, so we will have to be worried about everything now in The Outlast Trials. Unless the team made it so, the keen-eyed will see some tells before she strikes. It would be easy just to place the character in suspended animation until it was time to strike, which would make it next to impossible to know when the danger is coming.

The Outlast Trials — Project Messiah

If God is love, then bloodshed is his only currency. Such is the testament of The Outlast Trials and its newest Prime Asset, Liliya Bogomolova: the Praying Mantis, otherwise known as Sister Liliya. A perfect picture of cryptic beauty… and a vengeful angel sent from the Heavens themselves, Liliya is a woman of God on a divine mission to cut away your sins. Adorned in an intricate mask that obscures her scarred visage, Sister Liliya offers salvation to those willing to pay the price in treasure and flesh. Soon, Reagents will have the opportunity to visit her hallowed cottage orné in The Resort, a gaudy alpine retreat and the newest Trial Environment. Along with a new Trial, MK-Challenges, a Limited Time Event, as well as improvements to the recently introduced PvP Invasion Mode, Season 5 of The Outlast Trials brings icy horror to the dead of winter.

Sister Liliya is a holy huntress; an ambush predator capable of surprise attacks with her long-reaching combat style. Within her cultish compound, she hides in plain sight amongst her mannequins, and her savage strikes can immobilize unsuspecting Reagents, forcing them into a fight for their lives. Behind the closed doors of the lavish Resort, she’s prepared a VIP auction held only for her biggest spenders… but what is the price of a life?

In addition to the introduction of Sister Liliya, a new Trial and two new MK-Challenges await in Season 5 of The Outlast Trials:

  • Trial: Despoil The Auction — You are the negotiator. Humans are just one more product, amusement for those with money to burn. A fresh plaything is up for auction; it's up to you to ruin the lot.
  • MK-Challenge: Fabricate The Scandal — You are the half-truth, the reality more honest than fact when the evidence fails the agenda. Crimes cannot be simply exposed; they must be shaped to entertain the swinish masses. Prove the crime and delight the swine.
  • MK-Challenge: Seize The Narcotics — You are the controlled substance. The law enslaves minds by caging bodies. You destroy bodies and liberate minds, making users more desperate for control. Find the narcotics and set yourself free.

Project Messiah also includes its own Deluxe Catalog, filled with 10 pages of new, exclusive cosmetic items. Reagents can also expect a uniquely wintery Limited Time Event and Limited Time Catalog, as well as new items in the Murkoff store and additions and improvements to Invasion mode, including seasonal rankings.

Do you like this addition to The Outlast Trials, and will this be one of the scarier Prime Assets we have to date? Would it be nice to have some basic idle animations for us to have a chance to spot Sister Liliya, or will it be the total freezing of the character when she is lying in wait? How do you feel about the new religious tone that we have for this project, and is that still a crutch that the horror genre will keep going back to? Let us have all of that discussion in the comment section below. As more for The Outlast Trials comes out, we will be here to share it with you.
