Create Your Champion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 16th of July 2009 - 08:04 PM ]
Champions Online Creation Tool As things get closer to a full launch of Open Beta for Champions Online, people are getting a little more curious on a few things with in the game. On of which has to be the character creator and power customization of the game. It's kind of a big part of what MMOs are all about. People need to be able to express themselves by ripping off copyright characters or slapping pornographic images on others. All in good fun. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 03:34 PM ]
Clearwire officially launches WiMax in Las Vegas When you think of Las Vegas and Gaming, the first place you go is to the table game and gambling. It is the staple in Vegas. But it looks like soon, like in a few weeks, gaming could take a slight twist in the town. At least as it comes to online portable gaming. Maybe make the town a bit more family friendly. Who knows? E3 Hands On Impressions - DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 08:06 AM ]
DC Universe Online Hands On We've seen the screen shots. We've seen the video clips. But at E3, there was the chance to actually get some hands on with the game and take it for a pre-beta joy ride. I also got to sit down with one of the designers for the game to get a little more on the game that has yet to be released through their MySpace account or any official press releases. I will say that I wish I could have played around with the character creation tool a bit, but they did have some of the network play up and going. Well network play as in between PS3 and PC and not over the PSN. Read More...

Champions Online For Swingers?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of April 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
Champions Online Swinging Travel Powers I bet you clicked this thinking that the new MMO from the people that brought you City of Heroes/Villains and Star Trek Online was going with an alternative social game. Don't lie. You know you did. But in all seriousness, if I ever am. There is a new clip out there for you gamers that have been looking forward to the game that was suppose to be Marvel Online originally. The clip shows how they took what worked in the Spiderman games, and most likely brought to the game before the Marvel game got scraped, and make it work in an MMO setting. That's right, you will be able to have swing travel powers in this game. Read More...

Bragging OnLive With Clips
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 31st of March 2009 - 05:47 PM ]
Overview Of OnLive If you have been paying attention to anything that has come out of this year's GDC, or at least following the Total Meltdown Podcast, you most likely heard some bit on the new service called OnLive that is being worked on. Some say it is the future of digital downloading, and others are skeptical about this new system that has been proposed. Which of course is why I went out to ask a few things from the people behind this service to get a few answers and information to give out. For those of you who have no clue what OnLive is, here is a an overview of it and in simpler terms for everyone. Read More...

OutRun Online
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 18th of March 2009 - 01:04 AM ]
For American Xbox 360 owners, and European PS3 owners, June 30th is going to bring a gem to the arcade scene of Live and PSN. It's OutRun Online, an online speed-fest based on OutRun 2006, with 15 courses, and support of online head-to-head play for six players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou1fJ6CoRcIOutRun has long since been a favorite of mine and I would say it, arguably, influenced many other games in the genre with its approach to racing. If you aren't familiar with the series, it will be a great time to get aquainted. It's looking pretty good for an arcade title. Read More...

Dooming Missions
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 08:25 PM ]
First DCU Mission Explained We all know that MMOs need to have good missions to keep players coming back and interested in the game. Without them, what is the point of even playing. Outside Socializing and building characters and grinding out levels and being part of the in crowd. Well there really isn't a reason outside of those and the designers really understand this well over there at Sony Online Entertainment and DC. They realize it very well as the below video displays. This video shows how each side of the game, Hero or Villain, will take on one of the more iconic storylines of the DC world. Read More...

Be The Center Of Attention Like Laugh Riot
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 09:25 PM ]
DC Universe Character Trailer So far most of the buzz on Sony's DC Universe has been the named characters from DC comics that a player will be able to interact with or run along side. Outside of that and a few scene drops, nothing substantial has been seen since Comic Con 2008 where there was a playable demo there. Well a bit of wait is now over. Today the good people over at Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) have decided to grace the interwebs with a bit more on the types of characters you can play in the game. Read More...

Screen Shots Set To Stun
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 06:11 PM ]
New Screens For Star Trek Online There has been some more screen shots released into the wild for our consumption for Cryptic's new game Star Trek Online. Nothing really all that ground breaking except for the fact that there are a few more shots that are not of the space scenes of the game. Something that has been kind of rare from the past shots that have snuck out into the wild. I am still kind of curious on exactly how this game will actually look during play. These shots, much like the ones in the past, look a lot like concept shots, but then you can also see how they could be shots from the game. Read More...

Boldly Moving Further
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of February 2009 - 09:54 PM ]
Cryptic Studios Has Some New Star Trek Screens It's been a while since I have posted on this new MMO, the Star Trek one for those who skip the header or don't get my phrasings. But any ways. I checked on their site and found some newer screens for our collective viewing pleasure. The weird thing is that they kind of look like in game art as well as concepts. Like the one with the ship bashing through a moon or planet. But take a look. Read More...

Warhammer Online Beginning to Look a Bit Grim
by Robert [ Sunday, 27th of July 2008 - 05:50 PM ]
The beta for Warhammer Online is beginning to look a little grim; with major content cutbacks that will affect the release I'm sure. This month Warhammer online took out FOUR major cities and FOUR classes... that is BIG. Warhammer Online is the upcoming major competitor for the reigning champion of MMO's, World of Warcraft and with a cut back this big it is either a really really good thing or a really really bad thing. With Age of Conan slowly (but trust me it's not at all yet) falling off a bit, Warhammer Online really needs to step it up and take advantage. The content cuts may be a good thing; maybe the developers realized they need to focus their manpower on a smaller amount of content, but at the same time that could be a bad sign... Read More...
