The First Black Video Game Character
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 20th of January 2009 - 02:53 PM ]
So over at Vintage Computing and Gaming they discuss, what could possibly be, the first video game character of color."Tomorrow, the United States will inaugurate its first black president, Barack Obama. In honor of this watershed moment in American history, I thought we should pay tribute to another African-American trailblazer: the first black video game character. After exhaustive research, I believe I’ve found him.Thirty years ago (1979), the first obviously black video game character appeared in Basketball, programmed by Alan Miller for the Atari 800 home computer. What Lies Beyond The Edge Of Evolution?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of January 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
New Information For Activision's Prototype I'm sure you've heard of Activision's new game Prototype. Right? Well if not, then do I have a treat for you. And it is a very tasty one at that too. Full of Blood, Violence, Infections, and well what looks like a ton of fun. I do mean A LOT of fun. More of that below, but let me give you a quick recap of this game and what I was able to scrounge up at the THX booth at CES 2009. There is a plethora of fun screen shots and video clips that I got for your viewing pleasure, but there is a bit more that you won't be able to take away from just those. Like for instance, why the hell was the only way to catch any of this at CES was to get into the THX booth? Read More...

Choose Your Protoss
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of January 2009 - 11:28 PM ]
Dark Templar Vote So it looks like Blizzard wants to know what the players of their Star Craft Franchise want as a character in their new IP, Star Craft II. It seems that they want the actual community to choose their favorite since the game is for them and it should be tailored toward them. Not a bad idea from my stand point. But as of right now you can go onto the below link and vote which character you want to have in the new game, when it finally comes out. Your choices are: Lenassa Tribe:This unit carries a single warp blade, and a cloth shroud covers its face. Read More...

[Xbox 360 Review] Tomb Raider: Underworld
by Michael Camacho [ Saturday, 3rd of January 2009 - 08:43 AM ]
Lara Croft returns in Tomb Raider: Underworld, her final adventure before a huge revamping of the series. So is this a brilliant way to send Lara off before reconstruction of the series or an example of why the series needs change? I am pleased to say that this is the best Tomb Raider title to date. Crystal Dynamics uses Underworld to continue and bring a conclusion to Lara's adventure she began in 2006's Legend. Underworld begins with you controlling Lara in Croft Manor as the manor is ablaze. [PSP Import Review] Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist
by Michael Camacho [ Saturday, 25th of October 2008 - 05:44 AM ]
Ikki Tousen is a fan service anime, all about breasts, fighting, pantsu, Chinese history and more breasts. So with the PSP release of Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist, Marvelous Entertanment brings us a toned downed eroge side scrolling beat-'em-up of the anime.  While you won't see any type of nudity, there are more than enough suggestive images that unlock throughout the game. The game is out in Japan only, and most likely will never see a U.S. Read More...

New Survival Horror Queen, I Dub Thee
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of October 2008 - 03:52 PM ]
Jovovich Makes Time for Clock Tower Ok, so I was out of the loop on this until now. First, I didn't know they were making a movie based on one of my favorite childhood survival horror games, Clock Tower if you didn't catch it above. Notice I said one of my favorite survival horror games. This will be pertinent. Well today I just found an update on this and the actress, Milla Jovovich, that made me secretly love the films based on my favorite survival horror game, Resident Evil, is now going to be in this film as well. Playing Alyssa Hale, although it is listed as Alyssa Barron elsewhere. Read More...

Sweet Sweet Touchdown
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of October 2008 - 03:17 PM ]
No More Heroes 2 - Desperate Struggle Yes, if you read the line above this, you know what is coming. Yes, there is going to be a sequel to the first game. If you have yet to play it, DEFINITELY give it a go. I didn't hop on at first. In fact it took a sweet little innocent ex-roommate of mine to inform me of how cool the game was. Had my reservations at first, but then I felt like kicking myself afterward. Now if only there was more than just this teaser out for it. Read More...

Fable 2 Collector's Edition Stripped Near Bare
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 1st of October 2008 - 09:24 PM ]
Looks like Lionhead Studios have dropped the ball once again.  As if possibly not having online co-op at release wasn't bad enough for those gamers waiting for Fable 2, those who preordered the Collector's Edition will be sorely disappointed in finding that it has been stripped nearly bare.  Gone are the Collector's Case, the Fate Cards, and no Hobble Figure.  Lionhead blames supply chain issues on this problem, and with only weeks left before the release, it causes on to wonder how this could have happened.  They have decided to drop the price to $69.
