This past Thursday saw the release of a brand new costume pack for Hot Shots Golf 5 (Minna No Golf 5 in Japan).  For 600 Yen (approx. $6 U.S.), you can have 5 new sets for your existing characters. They include a ninja costume that resembles Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and DOA fame, two Street Fighter knockoffs resembling Chun Li & Ryu, and finally a Sailor Boy and Baseball Player  costumes.  Each costume has 2 different color schemes to them.  This is the 2nd pack released of costumes in Japan, and I would expect both to be released in the states by the end of the year. If you have yet to hear about Limbo of the Lost, chances are you've been living under a rock for the past month or so. This game is one of the most lulz-worthy thing I've seen in a very long time. From the horrible CGI models, to the fact that almost everything in the game has been plagiarized... it's hard not to find yourself giggling at the sheer STUPIDITY of it all. Rise of the Argonauts So I swear I heard about this over a year ago. I could be wrong. Or I could be right. In either instance, this game looks like it could be epic. Pun intended as always. This game is suppose to be a pretty close telling of the Greek Legends of yore, with a little new world twist to get a broader audience than freaks like me who are all about the Greek stories. Metal Gear Mania The Metal Gear Craze Is Going On Konami seems to be revving up the hype for this game much like Rock star did for the latest GTA. Trailers and ads galore. Some of which kind of cool. This first little set of videos is a bunch of ads. Everything from, what I assume is, an energy drink ad all the way to a trailer complete with the guy who has been smoking way too many cigarettes doing a voice over. That would be the first one. Announced from company Compile Heart, comes a new J-RPG experience entitled Cross-Edge (X-Edge) due out for the PS3 in September.  According to a Kotaku article today, it will feature characters from Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco Bandai, Idea Factory and Gust. Characters from Disgaea, Dark Stalkers, AR Tonelico and more will appear in the game (Full list below). The game will feature classic turn-based battles with up to four charcters in your party,  story that in which you will rescue souls, and have the ability to dress up your characters.  You will also be allowed to assign attacks to buttons on your Dualshock Controller, and combine multiple attacks for more damage. Well as many of us know, I'm a regular at the Dallas based anime convention A-kon. A-Kon, for those of you who don't know, is also the lonest running Anime Convention in America. It's one of the largest too. Recently the people over at A-KON anounced incredible news. A-kon is going to attempt to break The Guinness Book record for most  'Most Video Game Costumes in One Place'. Boston Rock Band DLC So I like being the barer of fun news. That and I like giving you all the fun new stuff I run across. And it looks like Harmonix posted a little earlier than they usually do, the new downloads for next week. Much like the Grateful Dead pack, except it is Boston this time around. Sony Is In Talk About Blu-Ray For Other Machines So after the striking blow to HD-DVD Drive, from Toshiba and backed up with Circuit City, Sony looks like they are trying to help spread their tech out there. Like before, they are talking about making the Blu-Ray player available on all formats. Of course this has to be one of those ego things for Sony, but tey aren't leaving anyone behind. GameStop is finally releasing the anxiously awaited Nintendo Wii game Super Smash Bros. Brawl this Sunday (3/9/08), but they have put a new twist on to the midnight release, a countrywide tournament. This tournament, which is free to play in, is absolutely huge! There are 45 pages of participating first round stores from all over the United States, which basically means that this is probably going to be one of the biggest tournaments ever. This tournament has four rounds. GameStop will be flying the eight semifinalists to San Jose, California to compete in the fourth and final round at their brand new tournament center and store.
