Here's What We Will Be Playing Day One For The Xbox One
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of August 2013 - 08:17 PM ]
Since it seems that Microsoft is still fine tuning all of the "features" and "requirements" around the Xbox One, why don't we focus on what seems a bit more concrete right now? I'm talking about the launch line-up that they just released into the wild during Gamescom. Below you can see the full list of titles ranging through almost every genre that we gamers could want. Even though I am personally not happy with how some of the titles are being handled, looking at you Killer Instinct, it looks pretty damn strong. Also a fun little thing to ponder over, if these are all supposed to be Day One titles, doesn't it kind of point the finger at late November launch for the console? Read More...

The BioShock Infinite DLC Is Announced. Is It What Was Originally Promised?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of August 2013 - 05:59 PM ]
Here we go. Just the announcement that everyone who was a fan of BioShock Infinite has been waiting for; the DLC. Seems odd that so many people were pining for this DLC yet normally get pissed when publishers announce some cool little thing is going to end up being DLC at some point. So let's take a look at what is coming out/out at the time of publishing this story. Now I clearly remember being told that we were getting new story DLC out the gate or at least shortly after the release of the full game. It looks like we have here is more or less "challenge maps" instead. Read More...

What's The Good News From SDCC For Batman: Arkham Origins?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of July 2013 - 06:15 PM ]
Well, not that much that we have not seen or heard from E3 will answer that question. It makes sense that Batman: Arkham Origins would be on display at the San Diego Comic Con but you would think that there would be some kind of information dump that wasn't handed out a month prior. I guess it is more about getting the information out to the public directly and not through the filtered lenses of the media. Who knows? While I don't think much was shown on the floor or during their panel, there were a few little tidbits and a new trailer shown for the latest assassin, Copperhead, hunting The Bat. Read More...

Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 04:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. Murdered: Soul Suspect... Now With E3 Walkthrough
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of July 2013 - 09:27 PM ]
Words can paint an amazing picture and level of detail in the mind's eye. But you know what is better? Actually getting to see things with your own eyes. We have just that for Murder: Soul Suspect straight from E3. Well at least Square Enix and Airtight games were nice enough to provide us and the world with a wonderful view of what they were showing in their booth at E3. While I will do the self serving thing and point you to my full write up, it was mostly based off what you are going to get to see in the next 25 minutes. You also don't have to wait in the long line to check it out, so there is that bonus too. Read More...

E3 2013 Hands On: Bayonetta 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of June 2013 - 09:46 PM ]
If ever there was a title that would make me actually purchase a WiiU, Bayonetta 2 would be that title. After getting to toil around with the latest build of the game, it makes me sad that I will most likely have to wait some time to actually get to play it proper. But that is me and the tens of WiiU owners out there; here is a little more information on why you should be picking up the game next year and why all of the non-WiiU owners will be jealous. This was my first time playing a real game with the WiiU controller and I was a bit worried as all of the tech/non-tech demos I've played were designed specifically with the controller in mind. Bayonetta originally wasn't so I was expecting it to be a bit on the rough side in terms of controls. Read More...

E3 2013 Impression: The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of June 2013 - 05:52 PM ]
I would be lying if I said that The Evil Within wasn't the biggest reason for me to go to E3 this year. Between TEW and Murdered I could have left fulfilled early. Even though I didn't get my hands on the game, I was overly impressed with what we were shown during the closed door demo. Here's a bit more on what got my jaw to drop and people screaming in the room. If you are a fan of Resident Evil 4 then you might as well already through your money at TEW. All of the game play mechanics, camera tricks, and scenarios that made RE4 and amazing game look to be what was used as the base for this game. Read More...

E3 2013 Hands On: Batman: Arkham Origins
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of June 2013 - 11:39 PM ]
I have been filled with all kinds of mixed emotions since the announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins. I am a huge fan of the franchise and storyline of the game's world. I am not a fan of most prequels and unfortunately Arkham Origins falls into the prequel world. Usually prequels just feel like the developers wanted to do another title in the franchise but have been written into a corner or need to find a reason to explain why the protagonist is weaker compared to where fans left them. Fortunately for myself, I was granted access to the elusive "behind doors playable demo" of E3 and had a chance to play around with the younger version of Batman. Let me pour out my feelings on this now. Read More...

E3 2013 Impression: Murdered: Soul Suspect
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of June 2013 - 08:16 PM ]
If there was one title I was overly excited to check out at E3 this year it was Murdered: Soul Suspect. Just the basic announcement by its self gave quite a few reasons why it could be an amazing new IP, but I got to actually sit down and check out a bit more of the game than has been shown. Here's a bit of what I am sure we will all be able to see here in the not too distant future. As has been mentioned in the announcement, we get to play as Ronan O'Connor who used to be an investigator in Salem, Massachusetts with a shady past. In what seems like an attempt to not force an exact belief structure, Ronan gets dropped in The Dusk (Ghost realm) that is a bridge between the land of the living and whatever is the "next. Review: Rush Bros.
by Kenton Winkfield [ Saturday, 8th of June 2013 - 04:50 PM ]
I always enjoy listening to music when I play games. But not many games actually utilize the ability to use your own soundtrack in the game. You have Audio Surf or Beat Hazard which are directly influenced by your music but not enough games take this idea and run with it. We have another game to add to the list now. From brand new Indie developer and publisher XYLA Entertainment in collaboration with Digital Tribe Games, makers of such games as Velvet Assassin, Kung Fu Strike, and others, comes a brand new musical 2D racing platformer called Rush Bros. Rush Bros. Read More...

Here Are A Few New Screenshots Of The Evil Within, But No New Info
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 08:20 PM ]
Talk about being tight lipped. While most other larger titles are getting new trailers and information spewed all over the internet leading up to E3 it looks like The Evil Within is holding back. Well holding back a bit as you will see a few "new" screenshots below but nothing new to add to the overall game. This could be to try and blow everyone's minds at E3 though as TEW is one of the main titles that Bethesda is showcasing. At least that is my hopes. Read More...

Check Out The Insane Wolfenstein: The New Order E3 Trailer Right Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 03:36 PM ]
By now we all know the premise behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. The Nazis got the bomb first and ended up winning WWII because of it and William "B.J." Blazkowicz, AKA you, are given the orders to try and take down the Nazi powers that be. Standard affair if I do say so myself outside of the super tech that the Nazis have at their disposal. Wouldn't it be fun to step away from that "standard affair" and have a look at what could have been if this was true history? In the below trailer that is just what Machine Games and Bethesda have done. Read More...

Murdered: Soul Suspect Officially Announced And It Looks Spectacular
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of June 2013 - 08:53 PM ]
Way back in February we got a nice little teaser for Murdered: Soul Suspect. It left quite a bit to the imagination and then we heard bupkis. That is until now with the following trailer and tease for what will be shown next week at E3. I have to say it wasn't what my imagination went with but it looks downright awesome, even if it is mostly a pre-rendered trailer. Take a look and I'll fill you in on a few other details about the game that have been released so far. Amazing right? Read More...

Batman: Arkham Origins Gets A New Trailer And Reveals
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of May 2013 - 09:14 PM ]
Last week we got a pretty lackluster "teaser" for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins title still in the works at Warner Bros. Games Montreal. Granted it came along with a short time span before we were supposed to get a full trailer for the game. The wait is now over and the trailer has been released in its full five minute version. Unfortunately, it doesn't do much in the way of showing the actual game nor does it do much more than show a beautifully fully rendered fight scene. Don't get me wrong, I think the below "trailer" looks pretty cool but it is like saying the next WoW expansion is a trailer for the game. Read More...

The Brothers Rapture Show Us Another Slice Of Rapture
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of May 2013 - 07:57 PM ]
It could be just me, but I'm pretty sure we would all love to see an amazing silver screen adaptation of BioShock. I'd like to think that we haven't yet because of worry that fans would not accept it unless it is top notch. So what do we get in the interim? Well if you haven't scrolled down yet, we get some pretty amazing short films produced by fans for the fans. The most recent one called The Brothers Rapture. The following short film follows the dark tale of two brothers who have moved to Rapture to escape some of their past hardships and to create art without hindrance. Read More...
