In Gears of War 2 news, the people of Epic seem to really understand their audience. Epic loves us for exactly what we are, a bunch of achievement whores. Now while some people may be above spending time going through games solely to raise their gamer score, most of us are not. Epic has created a whole new type of achievement system, called "linked" achievements. Linked Achievements occur when someone obtains an achievement in the first game(Gears of War), this then unlocks new content in the second game(Gears of War 2). The beta for Warhammer Online is beginning to look a little grim; with major content cutbacks that will affect the release I'm sure. This month Warhammer online took out FOUR major cities and FOUR classes... that is BIG. Warhammer Online is the upcoming major competitor for the reigning champion of MMO's, World of Warcraft and with a cut back this big it is either a really really good thing or a really really bad thing. With Age of Conan slowly (but trust me it's not at all yet) falling off a bit, Warhammer Online really needs to step it up and take advantage. Yo Yo guys.   Some of you may of heard of a place called Omega Sektor which is a LAN game center in Birmingham. On the 9th of August they are having a birthday bash. Tickets will be £10 and the place will be open till 2am.   They will be releasing more information on this soon. Think you have what it takes to build your own game for Xbox Live, and can do better than what is out there now?  Well now you can, as Microsoft has announced that XNA Game Studio software will be made available to gamers who yearn to create their own video games.  Micorsoft already had a trial run of the XNA Creators Club games earlier this year which featured "Little Gamers", "Culture", "Jellycar", "The Dishwasher" and others.  MS has plans to introduce the XBox Live Community Games this holiday season to XBL Marketplace. Microsoft unveiled in their plan that you will be able to have your games added to the XBL Marketplace, for a price of 200 to 800 points, after passing a peer review, as well as take home a cut of the total revenue the game makes, which MS claims to be up to 70% in a form of a quarterly check. After 22 fantastic years of the Castlevania series, Konami announced that the latest installment of this series will be out in early 2009. This new installment will take full advantage fo the Wii controls, you will be able to employ numerous amounts of attacks on your enemies. I would imagine the controls would be similar to Zelda, where you use both the Nunchuck and the Wiimote. Where other Castlevania installments have fallen short, this title is going to break the boundries and let the player interact with the surroundings, which of course, will be used to destroy the minions of Dracula. So after being able to toss and destroy you enemies with weapons, you will also be able to use the monsters in the game and set traps for them ;) Not only will this game be insanely fun, it will also have a multiplayer option where you are able to battle 1v1 with your friends. Yesterday, July 3rd, Atlus announced that Persona 2 will be coming to American PS2s this December 12th 2008.  It was inevitable the game would be coming here considering the acclaim Persona 3 received from critics and gamers alike.  The only question was when, and Atlus answered.  Persona 4 takes place in a Japanese countryside at Gekkkoukan High, where a mysterious string of murders have taken place, and of course it's up to you and your team to find the answers.  Persona 3 introduced an interesting relationship system in which you had to build friendships to help boost abilities and teamwork.  In Persona 4 that system returns along with crafting weapons and even having part-time jobs. This past Thursday saw the release of a brand new costume pack for Hot Shots Golf 5 (Minna No Golf 5 in Japan).  For 600 Yen (approx. $6 U.S.), you can have 5 new sets for your existing characters. They include a ninja costume that resembles Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and DOA fame, two Street Fighter knockoffs resembling Chun Li & Ryu, and finally a Sailor Boy and Baseball Player  costumes.  Each costume has 2 different color schemes to them.  This is the 2nd pack released of costumes in Japan, and I would expect both to be released in the states by the end of the year.
