Batman: Arkham Origins Announced… Yet Another Prequel Title
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of April 2013 - 11:45 PM ]
With the success of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, most of us figured there was going to be a new Batman game coming. Lo and behold, just announced by Warner Bros., we have Batman: Arkham Origins to look forward to this coming October. Not only that, but there is also a handheld side kick that has just been announced for the Vita and 3DS; Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. Unlike the previous two titles, Arkham Origins will not be developed by Rocksteady but in house at Warner Bros. Games' Montreal studio. Read More...

Killer Is Dead Trailer
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 21st of January 2013 - 09:58 PM ]
The guys over at Grasshopper Manufacture have released the first trailer for their upcoming game titled Killer Is Dead. The trailer features a lot of blood and a lot of Japanese language. Thankfully there are subtitles. Killer is Dead is about a thirty-five year old assassin named "Mondo Zappa." Mondo works for an undercover organization called "Brian Execution Firm." The firm sends Mondo across a "near-future Earth" where space tourism and Cybernetics are the norm, and where Mondo must execute a crap load of criminals. Cyborgs, Androids, and Sword Play? Review: Black Knight Sword
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 21st of December 2012 - 07:35 PM ]
Where do I start with Black Knight Sword? The Monty Python inspired art style? The odd and unique story? Or how about the challenging difficulty that I thought had long since been forgotten? Yeah, let's start with how hard Black Knight Sword is. Black Knight Sword has three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard but it feels more like "Normal, Hard, and Good Luck." It is not the mechanics, nor the controls that makes Black Knight Sword so difficult, no, not at all. It is the strategically placed enemies, the learning curve they demand from you, and the boss fights that will eat you up and spit you out. Read More...

I Wanted To Hire Agent 47 To Go After My Friends But...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of December 2012 - 11:19 PM ]
In the case that you haven't heard about it yet, Square Enix and IO Interactive created a little app that would allow you to place virtual hits on your Facebook friends. All to help promote the amazing game Hitman: Absolution. It has since been taken down with no note if it will be back at this time. "Why was it taken down?" you may be thinking. Read More...

Let's See Some More Ways To Murder In Hitman: Absolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of October 2012 - 04:47 PM ]
Just when you thought we'd seen enough of the murdering for Hitman: Absolution we have yet another trailer showcasing it. This time they are rather creative and entertaining though. Like the guy running around with his head on fire. How'd that happen on accident? Either way I want to do that to someone in the game already. Let's get that launch date closer. Although I do have to say I am beginning to get curious if there is more to Hitman than just the killing. Read More...

Agent 47's New Contracts In Hitman: Absolution
by Greg Tatterfield [ Thursday, 16th of August 2012 - 06:46 PM ]
Square Enix has announced a new game mode at Gamescom called Contracts for the upcoming Hitman: Absolution. Contracts mode is a unique multiplayer mode in which you create your own hits and challenge your friends to complete them. It works by selecting a level and a target. While creating your hit you can pick up to three targets that can be any NPCs in the level. The player can choose the stipulations of the hit such as what weapons and disguises are allowed to be used. You will be able to take on other player’s hits to earn money and new equipment. The Phoenix Rises
by Jonathan Dean [ Monday, 6th of August 2012 - 04:49 PM ]
Hello one and all! My name is Jonathan Dean, and I’m thrilled to be one of the newest members of the writing team here at Aggrogamer.com. Let’s see, what is there to know about me? I've been playing games mostly since high school, and as the title suggests, my gamer tag for the Xbox 360 is PhoenixFusion1. I personally prefer games with heavy story and substance, probably due in fact to being a fiction writer and movie buff. I wasn't introduced to the gaming world until my junior high school years. Watch How Agent 47 Walked Through The Hitman: Absolution Demo
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of July 2012 - 08:17 PM ]
You have to love modern tech today and social media. While we have special events that showcase video games and have 'behind doors' demos, it is only a matter of time now before all of the masses get to see what we do at events like E3. Just like Metro earlier in the week, we have a view at what I got to see for Hitman: Absolution at E3. Just in case you didn't like reading everything I had to say. Just in case you don't want to go back and read everything from before, this demo shows the Streets Of Hope and some of the new unique game play for the new Hitman. Read More...

Review: The Amazing Spider-Man
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of July 2012 - 11:12 PM ]
It's summer block buster time again in the film industry which means it's also the time we see the video games that coincide with said block busters hitting the shelves. While Marvel missed out on a proper Avengers title, Beenox and Activision made sure that they didn't miss out on a new Spider-Man title. The pair have already churned out the last couple of rather decent titles for the franchise so why not one for the film. Let's see how their faired in a genre that is usually know for making slop that just milks the films for more money. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Hitman: Absolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of June 2012 - 07:57 PM ]
Talk about a title I wish I would have had a chance to get some real hands on with at E3. Hitman: Absolution ranks right up there with Tomb Raider in level of excitement for Square Enix titles coming out. While it was on the show floor, there was not enough time in the day to play it but I did get to sit through a pretty cool demo that was geared towards showing some of the cool stuff we will get to have Agent 47 do. First and foremost I have to mention the visuals of the game. As to be expected given the six year gap between Blood Money and Absolution they have gone leaps and bounds over what we've seen in any of the previous games. Read More...

Hitman: Absolution Has A Weird Twist On Ruler Wielding Nuns
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of May 2012 - 11:08 PM ]
We've all seen the stereotype of Nuns with rulers to rap on your knuckles when you do something wrong. Hells, some of you probably lived through something like that in your youth. But have you ever wondered what they have to break out for those kids who are too bad ass for that to work, like say, Agent 47? Well we get that answer below in the new Hitman: Absolution trailer that you can see below. I am sure that this has some form of story importance, be it for the new title or older IPs. Read More...

How Will You Murder Humans In Hitman: Absolution?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of May 2012 - 11:23 PM ]
Kind of an odd question to be asked huh but it is pretty much the question posed to you in the most recent trailer for Hitman: Absolution that showcases the star of the franchise, Agent 47. Outside of that it also shows off a bit of game play as well as the different ways you can control the original assassin through the game. It is also full of a lot of blood and violence so send the youngin's out of the room before watching it. If you are waiting to actually watch the clip and still reading, let me break it down a bit. Lollipop Chainsaw Has Some Crazy Threesome Action
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of April 2012 - 10:04 PM ]
While I am sure all of your minds went straight to some crazy ass sex scene for Lollipop Chainsaw, I am talking about the threesome that is the Starling Sisters. Ok, well that also didn't come out sounding right either and you all probably went somewhere very twisted and pornographic again. For shame. But what I am talking about here is that a trailer for the game was just released and it showcases how the three sisters will interact in the game. Well kind of shows how they will interact in the story but not game play. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Lollipop Chainsaw
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 9th of April 2012 - 04:36 PM ]
During PAX East I got to get some playtime with Lollipop Chainsaw and interviewed the legendary Suda 51. Lollipop Chainsaw had some very smooth and tight controls, chaining attacks between kicking and swinging the chainsaw was simple enough to button mash if you wish, but at the same time complex enough to satisfy those who frown upon the mashing of buttons. The demo started off in a farm-like area, where some good ol' zombies popped up and begged for me to slay them (not really, but I could tell they were asking for it). Every time zombies pop up there is a counter on-screen that tells you exactly how many are there and need to kill. Read More...

What's The Deal With Online Passes?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of March 2012 - 10:57 PM ]
Online Passes are apparently the new "Gaming Fad" even thought the majority of us gamers really dislike the over abundance of these online passes, especially when companies like EA are already starting to show some sketchy business models towards online passes. I'm going to be one-hundred percent honest: I fucking hate online passes and here are some reasons why: Online Passes are a new and "pricey" way to battle online piracy and used game sales, the latter being a joke in my opinion. A simple one use serial code that is required for access to certain online content such as Multiplayer and Co-op modes, or unlocks bonus content for a game. Although certain games such as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Batman: Arkham City require an online pass even though they are single player games and withhold on disc game content from the consumer if an online pass is not purchased.
