Video Games In The Smithsonian

The Smithsonian Museum has recently released a list of the games that will be featured in their upcoming exhibition titled "The Art of Video Games" which will be running from March 16th 2012 to September 30th 2012. Some of the games featured are: Super Mario Bros. 3, Star Fox, BioShock, Fallout, and Diablo II. The exhibition will showcase the "evolution of video games as an artistic medium, from the Atari VSC to the PlayStation 3. It will also show the development of visual effects and aesthetics since the 1970's, the emergence of video games as a means for storytelling, the influence of world events and popular culture on game development and the impact games have on society. Rainbow Farting Unicorn, Yea That Was Said...

A new video has been posted on YouTube celebrity Freddie Wong's page, featuring a very gaseous little unicorn. Although at first it seems to be a normal humorous YouTube video, the credits point us in another direction. The video starts off with Freddie surfing the internet and getting a pop-up add claiming he has won something. Being slightly more curious than normal, he clicks on the ad and suddenly there are screeches in and out of existence dropping off what sounds like a heavy package. Call Of Duty To Become The Next Guitar Hero?

A leaked memo from Activision's CEO Eric Hirshberg is sure to have Call of Duty fans shaking in their boots and at the same time jumping for joy. The memo, from back in February, shows that Eric and the rest of the company are weary that Call of Duty might end up just like Guitar Hero. Let's see why this is a good thing for Call of Duty fans. Eric believes that the key to continuing Call of Duty's success is its Quality, saying "We need to focus: on making games that constantly raise the quality bar; on staying ahead of the innovation curve; on surrounding the brand with a suite of services and an online community that makes our fans never want to leave. That is what the whole motion controller craze and revitalization of 3D is all about isn't it? Command Come In... New Operation Raccoon City Game Play Trailer

It is in and it makes Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City look like a load of fun. The trailer also makes all of the screen shots look like there were originally working it out for the Wii. Granted, there are a lot of pre-rendered scenes in the trailer, but if you look fast, you can see the game play mixed in. Finally We Get To Play As Umbrella In Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

So it would seem just like Resident Evil 4, Capcom is looking for another way to package its older titles for us all to purchase again. Only this time it is RE2 and RE3…but from the point of view of Umbrella. Now this could be a little interesting, minus the fact that you should be destined to lose from the start. The E.Nigmas Of Batman: Arkham City

In Batman: Arkham Asylum the Riddler had kind of a small role, even though it was one of the larger side missions in the game. It makes sense when you think about the fact that he didn't physically show up at all in the game. This looks like something that Rocksteady is going to be changing when it comes to Arkham City. PAX East Hands-On: The Darkness II

After waiting two hours in line at the booth for The Darkness II my friend and I finally made it in to get our grimy little hands on the demo. We were the last batch of the day and the seven of us were ushered into the heavily guarded and boxed in booth. Inside it was dark with black lights and heavy, clear curtains dividing the actually play area from the main section. The creepy ambiance and The Darkness occasionally chiming in reminding us of its evil and demonic intentions set the mood for this sequel; Dark, Grim and Scary. Before we were able to play the actual game the Producer, Seth, gathered us around and told us that there are twelve screenshots out right now and if there happens to be a thirteenth one there is going to be hell to pay. Batman Catches The Armed Man In Arkham City, Also A Release Date

Who would have thought that he was actually one of the Joker's clown makeup wearing lieutenants, let alone actually exist? Will The 3DS Be Playable On Day One?

So the 3DS is hitting shelves in just about a month. March 27th to be exact for you. Wouldn't it be nice to know if it is going to be worth a purchase out the gate? At least for those people who care to have a launch 3DS for gaming and not just to have bragging rights that they sat in line for over a week to get the very first one their local electronics store had. People in the first category should want to know if they are going to have to wait to play some good games at launch. So No Co-Op In Batman: Arkham City

Well we can put the rumors the Batman: Arkham City co-op video that found its way to the internet started. In a recent interview Sefton Hill from of Rocksteady Studios gave there will be no co-op play in Arkham City. It will be a single player game only. This kind of makes me extremely happy. Especially with the reasons being that they didn't want to take anyone from the team off the work on single player to deliver a rushed co-op mode. Hey I remember when The Darkness came out. I also remember I was not able to play it due to my lack of fundage but I did get to take the demo for a whirl. Obviously not enough to make any decent or well informed judgment on the game. Nor any good point of reference for the announcement of the sequel that has just been announced quite simply named The Darkness II. So for those like me or have kind of lost memory of the game from about four years ago, let me throw out the nice recap 2K Games has written up for us. Batman: Arkham City - Co-Op With Joker?

Now here is an interesting twist that could occur with the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, co-op play with the Clown Prince of Crime! At least from a video that seems to have been leaked out through a few European websites that shows just that. A nice little fight scene where Batman and Joker fight off a few waves of thugs in the streets of Arkham City. Pretty cool if it is a real thing and not some fan's attempt at internet humor and fame.
