Final Fantasy XIII Countdown To What? So there is no solid news about what is going on at the Final Fantasy XIII site, but there is now a counter on the front page, and a button to register to be informed of what is going to happen when the counter hits zero. It is obviously not a count down to when the game is going to launch because the counter ends in roughly seven days. But it could be something awesome given all the stuff that has been hitting Japanese magazines lately. In 2007, ThatGameCompany released their first game for the PS3. The game entitled Flow, was a vastly enhanced remake of the original award-winning flash game that had been released for Windows and Mac. Now they’re set for their second PS3 release with Flower, a game that is a successor of sorts to Flow. A while back, I posted about a Gears of War 2 patch coming later this month. Now it turns out that coming along with the patch are seven new achievements. No official release date has been said, but should go live once the patch is released. All seven equal up to 175 points, mostly focused on the flashback and combustible maps. Warner Bros. Interactive has just announced a single player demo for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin for the PS3, 360 and PC on January 22nd. For PS3 owners, the demo will only be available to Qore subscribers and PC users are required to go to www.whatisfear.com. Resident Evil 5 Demo Premiers Exclusively on Xbox 360 Starting January 26 Who says that Capcom doesn't care about us Americans? They do. They just have a specific time frame for giving us slathering fans of Resident Evil what we want. This time in two stages. Granted anyone who has a web connection or knows how to download things outside of the US region have already had their hands on these, but you will be able to get them though XBox Live without having to work around language issues. Killzone 2 PS3 Bundle Coming to Europe Sony like their bundles it would seem. Almost as much as they like not dropping the price of their system. And from the look of things, they like pumping them out for everyone but the US. At least at first. But that's just a minor thing. I'm being nit picky. 3D Vision With NVidia and Panasonic So you think that the games and movies you watch are 3D. Well at least rendered that way. They are, but your eyes of course still only process it still in 2D. Meaning you don't get any depth processed into your brain. That is where the two above companies stepped up and said "Hey! Lets go one step further." Resident Evil 5 Comparison So while at the Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend, I actually got to play Resident Evil 5 at the Capcom party. I did not get a chance to play it while displayed on the side of the Planet Hollywood, which was awesome although cold, but I did get to play it where they had the two versions running side by side. Killzone 2 at CES 2009 Killzone 2 at CES 2009 So while palling around the Sony booth at this years CES, I stumbled upon the area where they had Killzone 2 set up. Microsoft's Robbie Bach announced during their company's CES Keynote that a demo for Halo Wars will be available for download February 5th. Robbie has also announced that instead of Halo Wars being released March 3rd, they are now moving it to February 28th.
