Fourzerotwo, an Infinity Ward spokesman, says they're bringing back the double XP for the weekend of September 13th & September 14th for Xbox Live and Playstation Network. So get those guns cleaned, locked, loaded and kick the safety off, as it's time to start climbing the ranks with ease and quickness. During the Games Conference in Leipzig, Heise.de, a German tech site, quoted SCEE president: David Reeves while discussing th future of Mirror's Edge. In the quote he claims that Mirror's Edge will be a timed PS3 exclusive, similar to the way RockBand 2 is being released for the Xbox 360. This of course would go against all of EA's past trends of releasing everything at once on every possible console. "We are continuously, month after month publishing new titles that bring something unique and target different groups. In a month it’s Gran Turismo, in the next SingStar, and Third-Party Title’s such as EA’s Mirror’s Edge are all part of the strategy. Read More...

Sony Computer Entertainment America has released further information on the new model of the PSP, officially known as the PSP 3000. The PSP 3000 model will be available in North America this October shipping with Ratchet & Clank Size Matters. SCEA describes the PSP 3000's new LCD screen as having "a wider color gamut and higher contrast ratio to deliver deeper, more vibrant colors, as well as anti-reflection technology so you can see the screen more clearly when playing outdoors." SCEA will ship the standalone "Core Pack" version of the PSP 3000 "later this year" for $169.99. Read More...

Namco Bandai announced last week that their hit game series IdolM@ster will be released for the Sony PSP this winter in Japan, as not 1 title, but 3 seperate titles. For those not familiar with the IdolM@ster series, the game is a virtual simulator where you create your very own Japanese Music Idol. You handle their schedule, costumes, song choices, and happiness/stress levels, to create the #1 Idol. The series has been a huge hit in arcades and one of the biggest hits on the Xbox 360 in Japan. The Last Guy Gameplay Video So at last week's E3 show, Sony announced a game called *The Last Guy. Pretty much a game a lot like Infected on the PSP. You run around and save people who are too stupid to save themselves and guide them to a secure location for evacuation. Good concept. Worked for me in the past. Yesterday, July 3rd, Atlus announced that Persona 2 will be coming to American PS2s this December 12th 2008. It was inevitable the game would be coming here considering the acclaim Persona 3 received from critics and gamers alike. The only question was when, and Atlus answered. Persona 4 takes place in a Japanese countryside at Gekkkoukan High, where a mysterious string of murders have taken place, and of course it's up to you and your team to find the answers. Persona 3 introduced an interesting relationship system in which you had to build friendships to help boost abilities and teamwork. This past Thursday saw the release of a brand new costume pack for Hot Shots Golf 5 (Minna No Golf 5 in Japan). For 600 Yen (approx. $6 U.S.), you can have 5 new sets for your existing characters. They include a ninja costume that resembles Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and DOA fame, two Street Fighter knockoffs resembling Chun Li & Ryu, and finally a Sailor Boy and Baseball Player costumes. Each costume has 2 different color schemes to them. This is the 2nd pack released of costumes in Japan, and I would expect both to be released in the states by the end of the year. Read More...

Kratos Is Back: God of War 3 To Be Shown At E3 Ok, so the title may be a little misleading, but that was lifted straight from the english source for this tid bit. It was originally posted on a French site, before you ask. But I guess, Sony either let slip or something at the Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival that GoW III (that's God of War not Gears of War) will be at this years E3.
